Chapter 389: Chapter 389 – Trust me to handle it
“Denzel, I need your permission to kill Aurora,” Godic said, tears streaming down his face as he spoke over the phone. Alpha Denzel was shocked.
Godic had never cried as long as he could remember. Alpha Denzel knew that the only thing that could hurt a man so much was if his woman was hurting, meaning Alessia was in trouble.
Alpha Denzel remained calm, knowing that Aurora was no longer in his good graces. If not for Valerie’s kind heart, he would have left her to fend for herself as she was before he met her.
“Tell me everything,” he said coldly. Godic was still shedding tears as he spoke, but there was also a determined vengeance in his voice.
“Alessia complained of stomach ache and began bleeding. When we got to the hospital, it was revealed that she was a month pregnant but the poison destroyed it.”
Alpha Denzel’s hand holding the phone shook, and Valerie noticed. This was his niece or nephew killed before their time.
Denzel’s rage was so intense that he found it hard to speak, so Godic continued.
“Denzel, I was so pained that she was poisoned right in our home, so I tortured all the maids, and one of them confessed that Aurora paid her to put the substance in Alessia’s breakfast, claiming it was harmless but she just wanted to teach her a lesson.”
They took precautions whenever they went out, but the home was supposed to be a place where everyone felt comfortable, and yet this had to happen.
“She said she had no idea it was poisonous, but I have no intention to forgive her. I just want to get Aurora to confess everything, so I’m already on my way to her house,” Godic revealed.
If it were anyone else, that person would have been dead by now, but with Aurora, he had to first seek permission from his brother-in-law.
Denzel felt something was off. If Aurora was upset enough to attack anyone, it should have been Valerie. However, she had shown remorse after Valerie saved her from Denzel’s punishment.
Alessia was his sister, so no matter how crazy Aurora was, she would not dare harm her.
“I’m coming over.”
“No, Denzel, I can handle it. I just need your permission to kill her because of how important she is to you,” Godic insisted.

The vengeance boiling in his heart was too deep, and if nothing else, the fact that Alessia was Denzel’s sister should make Denzel want justice for her.
“Wait. I will get there before you know it,” Denzel said, not giving his approval for Godic to do as he pleased.
After Denzel explained everything to Valerie, she agreed that Denzel should go, but by the time the chopper would arrive, it would be too late.
Also, both of them could not leave the coronation. One person had to stay. The only person who would not need a chopper to get to Vegas was Valerie, so she suggested.
“Why don’t you trust me to handle it? Aurora seemed different before we left, so what if a greater enemy is behind it?” She asked seriously.
From what she gathered from her experiences so far, things were not always what they seemed to be.
Alpha Denzel agreed with her as he suspected it too, and that was his reason for wanting to handle this himself.
“That is why I told him to wait. He is very upset and might do something he would regret later, but Alessia’s condition is also my worry.”
Valerie was also pained for the death of the unborn child. Alessia and Godic were not even aware of its existence before it was brutally taken from them.
This was a great evil deserving a greater punishment. The only problem was in who deserved the punishment and who was qualified enough to mete it out at this juncture.
“Denzel, you know that we both can’t leave, but I can reach there faster. Can you trust me to handle it? I promise to update you on each step of the way,” Valerie said in a hushed tone.
Their not eating like everybody else was already raising red flags, so the worst thing was for them both to miss out on the coronation.
Alpha Denzel had to agree that in this case where only one person could resolve the matter, it was best for it to be Valerie.
“Please try and make it back before the coronation. I know how much it means to you,” he said seriously, wishing there was a way for him to be the one, but there was none at the moment, unless they both had to leave together.
“I will try my best,” Valerie assured him, glad that he could trust her. Still, she had one concern and asked her.
But are you sure your powers would work?”
Valerie stiffened slightly but soon regained herself. “Alessia is in trouble, so it should work.” She was about to try activating her powers when Denzel stopped her. “Wait.”
Valerie stared at him with a confused expression on her face, but the next moment, Denzel pressed his lips against hers briefly before creating an excuse for Valerie.
“She has to handle something very important on my behalf in Vegas, but I will be here until her return.”
Ashley was not liking this. She had not made a close friend at her new pack yet, so her sister’s presence was very important to her.
“Val, please come back soon and don’t miss my coronation. I won’t forgive you if you do.”
Valerie understood it well but felt that Ashley should understand what was going on to not feel embittered.
“Well, someone caused Alessia to have a miscarriage, and she needs me more than you do.”
Sorrow dulled the faces of everyone present, and though Alpha Denzel was trying to keep calm as always, they knew he was hurting deeply.
“I knew she was pregnant when I saw her. Oh goddess, please let the person pay,” Luna Fernanda said angrily, regret laced Ashley’s voice as he spoke.
“Val, I won’t be upset even if you don’t make it, but please make sure that justice is served.”
It was now up to Valerie if her powers would work or not, but things did not turn out the same, increasing Alpha Denzel’s worry.
