Chapter 393: Chapter 393 – Lock Me Up
The blonde woman smiled mischievously, much to Aurora’s disgust. “I have a substance, and I want you to pour it into Alessia’s food.”
‘Alessia?’ The sound of the name sent a cold shiver down Aurora’s spine. After the last incident where Don Denzel almost took everything from her, she remembered how Mrs. Denzel forgave her and gave her another chance.
All she had received from Don Denzel and his family was kindness, which she couldn’t repay with the back of her hand.
Even with her life at stake, she was no longer afraid to do the right thing. The envy, jealousy, and selfishness within her had all been eradicated by the love and kindness Mrs. Denzel had shown her. She outrightly refused.
“We don’t work in the same company anymore, and even if I could, I wouldn’t.”
The blonde woman didn’t seem to take this kindly but decided to give her another chance.
“I need someone close to Godic, and I have reliable information that you are.”
Godic had always been lukewarm towards Aurora, but he had been kind to her and protected her when entrusted into his care. He was also Don Denzel’s brother-in-law, so Aurora was still skeptical but curious. “What do you want with Godic?” she asked. The blonde woman smiled profoundly and revealed her intentions.
“He saved my life once, and I fell in love with him. I’ve been in Europe, and I just returned a week ago to find out that he got married to a woman named Alessia. I want her out of his life.”
Aurora felt like the blonde woman didn’t know who Alessia was and thought of educating her on the atrocity she was about to commit. “Alessia is Don Denzel’s sister. Count me out.”
The mention of Don Denzel’s name caused the blonde woman’s bodyguard to take precautions, but the woman was still willful. She wouldn’t suffer Don Denzel’s wrath unless he found out it was her, which she was determined to avoid.
“You either do it, or I lock you in the basement with a time bomb.”
Time bomb? Aurora was scared for a split second before realizing that her life was never truly her own. Don Denzel’s men had saved her, and he had avenged her and given her a new life.
Even when she had crossed the boundary and betrayed him to the extent that she should have been killed, he had only decided to take back the things he had given her. But his wife still gave her a comfortable life.
Thinking through this, Aurora felt like she owed them her life, and her death would be worth it in the end.

“Lock me up with the time bomb or kill me now. I already betrayed Don Denzel once, and I never intend to do it again. Godic has also been very good to me, so I can never do that to Alessia.”
The seriousness in her words annoyed the blonde woman greatly, but it was not unexpected. The blonde woman had also made provisions for times like this, in case Aurora refused the offer and asked seriously.
“What if I still use your face?” she asked. Aurora was shocked when she brought out a silicon mask designed to look like her face.
Fear crept into Aurora’s heart, and she regretted the things she had done that had moved her from the house Don Denzel had given her close to the head office and the shadow bodyguard services he had withdrawn.
Something like this wouldn’t have happened if she were still in her former position when Don Denzel had found her.
“What are you planning?” she asked, not hiding the fear that crept into her eyes.
The blonde woman seemed rather amused by her situation and began to explain. “Well, when I’m done with the crime, all evidence would point to you, and the police would arrest you in my place. I already have your fingerprints too.”
Aurora was sweating, knowing that something like this would reach Don Denzel, and he would be even more disappointed. “No, you can’t do this to me. I’m innocent.”
Calmness resonated from the voice of the blonde woman as she spoke unfeelingly. “I’m a desperate woman, and I have to get what I want.”
End of flashback.
Valerie was both shocked and afraid when the woman who looked like Aurora finished narrating the story.
The fact that Aurora stood for what was right in spite of her life being at stake was so touching that Valerie couldn’t allow her good deed to go to waste.
“So how many more minutes does Aurora have in that basement?” she asked seriously.
The blonde woman looked around, feeling that Aurora would just come to face her punishment for whatever she did, not this woman, having no idea that Valerie was Don Denzel’s wife.
“Looking at the time now, she should be gone in the next five minutes.”
There was still a life at stake, so Valerie couldn’t show concern for Alessia or Aurora, only making it look as if she wanted Aurora to pay for her wrongs.
“Excuse me. I need to use the restroom,” Valerie said and rushed out of the room.
There wasn’t enough time for her to communicate this to Godic, but the bodyguards had informed those who were sent to Aurora’s house earlier, as they waited for the next orders, keeping their attention on the woman in front of them.
Using her powers, Valerie arrived at Aurora’s house because she had been there before. Quickly, she rushed to the basement to see Aurora conscious.
She had no idea for how long Aurora had been tied up in this uncomfortable position, but it was good she was unconscious, as she wouldn’t know that Valerie was not human and had some special powers.
As soon as she got close to Aurora, she heard the beeping sound. Just a minute remaining, meaning she wouldn’t be able to finish untying Aurora before the bomb exploded, and she wasn’t sure if her powers would work in the human world, except in transportation.
