Chapter 394: Chapter 394 – I Also Forgot and Set His Car Ablaze with You in It
Valerie ran out of options, but she wasn’t ready to go down without trying. Covering Aurora with her form, they both disappeared instantly, appearing in front of the house, but the sound of the bomb was loud enough to wake Aurora.
She panicked when she saw her house in flames, not realizing that she was outside of it. “Save me, save me,” she began to scream. Valerie frowned a little and went to comfort her.
“Be still, Aurora, you are safe.”
Aurora froze when she heard Valerie’s voice. Could this whole thing be a dream? The last thing she remembered was seeing the time bomb at thirty minutes and shutting her eyes to lure in sleep.
She had given up hope, waiting to die but also unwilling to look it in the eyes, so she only prayed for sleep to steal her before the bomb went off. But as she tried to move her hand, it was restricted, so she could not pinch herself to confirm if she was still in a dreamland or in reality.
Valerie’s voice gave her hope, and she could feel her hand moving around the rope on hers. The rope was loosened from Aurora’s hand, and when she tried to remember everything, confusion brewed in her mind.
“What happened?” Valerie thought about the best excuse to give, and since the house was still burning, she was certain that no cameras were able to capture her movements through the house.
“Well, we caught a certain woman who confessed to locking you up in a basement and impersonating you, so I came to see,” Valerie narrated, adding,
“You were sleeping when I got here, so I was only able to carry you with the chair. You aren’t so heavy,” she lied, hoping Aurora would believe it.
To her utmost relief, only tears rained in Aurora’s eyes, as the reflection of the burning house was caught in them.
“Thank you so much. I thought it was over, and I was gonna die, but you arrived and saved me. You are such a wonderful person, and I can’t forgive myself for all I did to you.”
Aurora realized fervently that Don Denzel had a knack for choosing the best of women, oblivious to their world.
In her description, her late sister, Lisa, was a sweetheart, but Valerie was a combination of sweetness, strength, and resolve.
The siren of the emergency services was heard, and some of Godic’s bodyguards had also arrived, surprised to see Valerie.
“Mrs. Denzel, how did you get here so fast?” One of the bodyguards asked. Valerie forced a smile, and when she saw a motor rider passing, she pointed at him and said, “When I got out, I saw the motor rider and took a shortcut.”

They believed her since there were indeed shortcuts. They just did not know that she knew those routes.
The fire service was already quenching the fire, and the cops arrived to take their statement, but Valerie had already left with Aurora and the bodyguards. One of them asked her,
“Mrs. Denzel, her house is destroyed, so where do we take her?”
Valerie was about to speak when Aurora said, “I will rent an apartment later, but for now, I need to get a new card and lodge into a hotel.”
Valerie shook her head, remembering the confessions of the impersonator. Aurora had refused to do anything against Don Denzel, though it would have been termed as doing it under duress.
It got to the point where Aurora did not even care about her life, so how could Valerie allow her to do as she wanted when Don Denzel had houses scattered about?
“Take her to the first house she lived in. I will speak to Don about it. And she will begin working again at the head office.”
Aurora was so moved by the gesture and wanted to thank Valerie but was not given the chance. Valerie had another person to rescue before leaving Godic to deal with his unknown crush.
Since the woman had a crush on him, this was his cross, and he had to bear it whiles keeping Alessia safe, but Valerie would not leave until she rescued Lindsay’s daughter.
Two bodyguards escorted Aurora, one of them driving her to the safe house she lived in before.
It was huge as well with two cars and bodyguards, making her feel like a princess, but Valerie returned with the remaining bodyguards to the van.
“Thanks to you, Aurora is dead, so you have to bear all the torture I planned for her,” Valerie said. The woman was stricken with guilt and fear.
“I honestly did not want her dead. I used the time bomb to scare her but forgot to deactivate it.”
Valerie’s expression was void of emotion as she responded to her. “Let’s just say that I also forgot and set his car ablaze with you in it. Goodbye.”
She was about to step out of the van when the woman screamed. “Please wait.” Valerie stopped but did not turn around.
The woman was looking for a bait to extend her life. She was not ready to die.
“There is a child. A four-year-old. If you kill me, her mother would not find her. She was the reason I came here today.”
Looking at her, Valerie felt she was talking to an evil Aurora and demanded, “Remove the mask or whatever you are wearing.”
She quickly pulled off the silicon mask, exposing her blonde hair. It felt better for Valerie that she now knew the identity of the enemy she was dealing with. “Much better. Now repeat what you said.”
Valerie did not care to get her name, having in mind to eliminate her for what she did to Alessia and also to Aurora.
“There is a four-year-old at my house. If you don’t let me go, no one would find her,” the blonde woman bargained. It was up to Valerie as to whether or not she would accept the bait…
