Chapter 399: Chapter 399 – Luna Valerie Fainted
“What if you make the ground slippery for them, and I can open it for them to fall back in,” Ashley said with resolve. Valerie agreed, but for a moment, someone came to mind.
“That is great, but we have to get closer to them. I wish Alice was here…” She quickly stopped, not wanting more people to be aware of the girl’s powers. Luna Valerie was certain that Alice’s powers would have defeated these creatures.
They sure were not fireproof, and even if they were, Alice’s fire was not ordinary. Luna Valerie could not forget how those powers burnt the woods so deeply that by the time she finished quenching the fire with her powers, the woods of the Evergreen pack were no longer the same.
Alpha Denzel also smiled at the thought of Alice. Her powers would have indeed conquered these monsters faster, but now they had to focus on what they had. How to get Valerie and Ashley close to the monsters while making sure that they do not get hurt.
“I will shift and carry you on my back,” Alpha Denzel said. Alpha Idris could not help taking part of the responsibility as well.
“I will do the same,” he supported.
They could get their women as close as they wanted, then escape with them before it was too late. These women might even focus too much on their powers and forget how much danger was ahead of them, so that would be the time to deliver them.
Their plan this time was not to attack but on how to escape. The four of them went out after agreeing on a few things. As the two men shifted, the two women climbed on their backs, holding tight.
They needed their wolves’ speed but could also not use their powers if they shifted. Ashley already began using her powers to crack the earth, dust filling the air like a cloud, and the look of fear in the one eye that sat in the middle of the face of the monsters.
Seeing them like that was heartwarming, as they felt hope that they were doing the right thing.
Valerie’s powers began to work on the weather, and as soon as the rain began to pour only on the underground rogues, they growled in anger.
The sound was deafening as they made a move to capture the two women riding on the werewolves but rather slipped and came tumbling down, making the ground shake violently.
Their movement was like an earthquake, and the two Alpha wolves found it difficult to stabilize themselves but did not fail their Lunas.
“Ashley, please try harder. The ground must open wider to make them fall faster into it,” Valerie spoke hastily, intensifying the rain and making the ground slipperier.
The four of them were drenched, and the few warriors around were running to safety, glad to see the monsters being defeated as they struggled to maintain their postures.

Their size made it hard, and their falls were great. Those who had not yet made it fully to the earth fell right back into the open ground. This method was only going to work in sending them back but would not completely destroy them like Valerie wanted.
However, she was stunned when one of the underground wolves pointed a finger at her and said some words she could not understand, though knowing they were not good. The sound of it, shook the place.
Luna Fernanda, who was seeing the whole thing unfold from the windows of the auditorium like the others were doing and also understood what the underground rogue said, quickly ran to them.
History became so real to her today than it ever was in her years of living.
“He said that he hadn’t eaten and would have you for his next meal,” Luna Fernanda said to Valerie.
That rogue seemed like the strongest, and even with his body on the slippery floor and a force pulling him into the open ground, he was still not ready to give in but ensured to mark Valerie very well.
Alpha Denzel shifted instantly upon hearing the translation of the underground rogue’s threat.
How could that happen when he was still alive? For as long as he was, that monster would have to eat him first.
More of the underground rogues began to fall into the open earth, causing the warriors of the Litha Moon pack to cheer for victory. A warrior met Alpha Denzel and Ludwig with emergency clothes but waited until Alpha Idris shifted before giving him his.
Alpha Denzel was addressing the underground rogues due to the threat, and Luna Fernanda gladly passed the message.
“Bring it on, but next time, do it at the Evergreen pack. She would be ready for you.”
He knew that over there, Alice would be able to use her powers with Valerie’s help and not get burned, but the rogue spoke again in that strange language which Luna Fernanda interpreted.
“Her scent is strong, and we shall find her.”
Alpha Denzel scoffed, glad that the monster took his bait but knew what to prepare for. If no one destroyed the underground wolves completely, they would come back to destroy the werewolf race, and he was not going to allow that.
He would make sure that they do not get a second chance at life and would also not only rely on Alice but prepare other equipment for the war.
The last underground rogue fell into the open earth before Valerie stopped the rain, and Ashley sealed the earth, but Valerie soon fainted, and Alpha Denzel knew why as he quickly caught her in his arms before her body touched the ground.
The cheers increased from all angles, but Alpha Denzel could not celebrate, looking at the saddened look in Idris’s eyes after he shifted and put on his clothes.
The warriors they lost pained Alpha Idris as they were some of his best, fearless ones at that.
“Don’t worry, Idris. The war would be brought to our doorstep next time,” he said, carrying Valerie to the room he lodged.
Alpha Idris turned to Ashley, gratitude replacing the pain he felt before due to how fearless his Luna had been, and his words warmed her heart greatly.
