Chapter 407: Chapter 407 – A Beta Coronation
“Denzel, I have something to tell you,” Alpha Lawn spoke from the end of the line, and Denzel was curious.
“I’m listening.”
“I’m going to have a beta coronation,” the middle-aged man revealed from the end of the line, and Denzel frowned slightly.
“Are you sure?” He asked, and before Alpha Lawn responded, another question popped out. “Who are you coronating, and what happens to Hugo?”
Given that Hugo remained loyal even when he was appointed by Tristan, Alpha Denzel felt that he did not deserve to be discarded just like that. However, Alpha Lawn had news for him.
“I was coming to that,” Alpha Lawn hinted before he explained carefully. “Hugo went to the Lichen pack to represent me during the death of their Alpha and found his mate to be the daughter of the Alpha who just passed away.”
The Lichen pack was among the smallest packs in North America but strangely received attacks. None of the rogues dared to attack that pack because their old Alpha was quite strong.
He was also independent and never associated much with any of the packs. It was understandable that Alpha Lawn had not gone himself, and even Denzel had sent Hugo to represent him.
Well, that was just the way packs operated. You can’t reap where you have not sown, and the support you give to other packs is the support you get in return.
“Their Alpha died too young, and his daughter isn’t strong enough to lead the pack. She also can’t join ours because that would destroy her pack.”
The understanding was clear, but Denzel still confirmed it. “So Hugo is going to be the Alpha of the Lichen pack?”
“Exactly,” Alpha Lawn responded from the end of the line, and Alpha Denzel was glad. Nowadays, he hardly received news that made him upset, as other packs were either being wise or afraid of starting anything.
Alpha Denzel’s good mood did not mean he would overlook or let anyone who tried to attack his pack or any other close to him off the hook.
“That sounds like good news to me,” Alpha Denzel agreed from the end of the line, but Alpha Lawn had some more explanations to do.
Yeah, and I know he would excel at it, so I want to make my good friend, Gerald, my beta since he’s been in the pack house and has been giving his support immensely.”

“Well, that is a great choice, so I have nothing against it,” Denzel said. For someone who took Alpha Lawn in when he did not even have the means of taking care of him, there was no better person deserving of the beta position than him.
Alpha Lawn asked again. “So, do you think we should hold a beta’s coronation or should we send a letter? I asked him, and he said he chose the letter because he doesn’t like the crowd, but I felt that I should honor him.”
Alpha Lawn’s desire made sense to Alpha Denzel, but he could also not agree about the honor bit. “You choosing him as a beta is already a great honor. I agree that sending letters is a fine idea.”
Alpha Lawn was satisfied and relieved at Denzel’s analysis, suggestions, saying with gratitude. “I knew I could count on you. Both Alma and Calister agreed on the same things.”
Alpha Denzel could not wait to get back to the ongoing handing over ceremonies. “If that is the case, then congratulations on your having a new beta.”
“Thank you,” Alpha Lawn responded before ending the call.
The Evergreen pack was having one of its happiest times of handing over the rooms, which were built in apartment styles but not too tall to use elevators.
One of the regular pack members asked. “Alpha, are you going to renovate the pack members’ houses too?”
Alpha Denzel suspected that something like this might happen, but the pack members were more than the omegas, so something like that would take a lot of time.
Also, their living conditions were already very comfortable. Then again, if Alpha Denzel changed the style of houses, that would also make room to accommodate new pack members and future generations.
“I’m still thinking about it. It all depends on how long the time of peace continues and how we are able to avoid liabilities.”
The pack member could not take no for an answer, saying with gratitude. “Thank you, Alpha, we shall be expecting the renovation,” he said, Valerie laughed, and Denzel chuckled.
Seemed that no matter what, he would have to do something special for the pack members as well. However, the omegas had been the ones who suffered for long and deserved this at the moment.
Months passed and the herbs had grown so well. Raven had structured it in a way that whenever the hospital had a case, they would find the herbs suitable and faster for the healing process, reducing the use of orthodox medicine.
She and Ray were running shifts between the Yellow Stone and Evergreen Pack to plant more herbs, and fortunately, they were doing a great job.
Alpha Denzel had constantly thought about Raven’s leaving and had helped her and Alice with combat training through these peaceful moments. But now, something important came to mind when he said to Valerie, “I want to visit the Black Fur pack with Raven. Do you mind or want to come along?”
Valerie yawned and, being in a sitting position before, she laid on the bed. “It’s better for the two of you to go alone. It’s peaceful here, so I can do with some more rest,” she said and went back to sleep.
Alpha Denzel frowned a little, asking, “Are you alright?” For the past two days, she kept sleeping more than necessary and kept complaining that her time for sleeping was not enough, blaming Denzel for constantly waking her to attend training.
“Yes, I’m fine, I just need a little more rest,” she yawned again. Denzel had a plan, alerting Alice and Dorothy to keep an eye on her.
He left with Raven, and upon reaching the Black Fur pack, the young woman’s reaction stunned him.
