Chapter 439: Chapter 439 – I Can Take Care of My Mate
The walls of the Black Fur pack were covered with climbing wall plants, making the pack look small and cozy from the outside.

The frontage of the pack was decorated with neatly trimmed lawns, spelling out the name of the pack.

A huge fountain sat at the pack’s entrance where security men rested. The fountain was designed like a black wolf, with enough space inside for a bed and washroom, accommodating four warriors.

It served as both a security post and a fountain, but the most astonishing feature was the large sculpted head of a black wolf on top of the gate, with water flowing out of its mouth to connect to the fountain at the security post.

Everything was painted in black with white flowers surrounding them. The completed pack was a stark contrast to what they had seen six months ago.

The transformation was breathtaking, and even though it was late, pack members had lined up, eagerly waiting for their Luna.

Raven was stunned by the appearance of the Black Fur pack, unable to compare it to the one she had visited before.

Alpha Ludwig wore a smile, pleased by the shocked expressions on Alpha Denzel and Raven’s faces.

They had to park their cars at the gate and wait to be brought in later due to the pack members lined up to welcome their Luna.

It was very late, yet they were alert and excited to see their Luna, which made Raven realize that Alpha Ludwig had informed his pack about her arrival.

Her heart filled with joy at their beaming smiles, and even children aged six and above were present.

A tall man with long hair tied in a ponytail approached them and respectfully bowed his head.

“Welcome, Luna. My name is Liam, and I’m Alpha Ludwig’s beta,” he introduced himself before adding, “the pack members couldn’t sleep without welcoming you first.”

He then turned to Alpha Denzel and said, “I’m sorry, but I hope you don’t mind our tradition of welcoming our Luna first. Alpha Denzel, you are welcome.”

Alpha Denzel already knew about the tradition and was not offended. “Of course, it’s the right thing to do.”

Raven was speechless as they continued to wave and throw confetti on the path she walked. This was unexpected, especially considering she was born a rogue.

However, it began to sink in for her that this was the price for all her sufferings in the past. She was innocent and yet was born a rogue, so this was an honor bestowed on her.

“Our Luna is stunning,” one of the pack members said, cutting through her thoughts as she glanced in their direction.

“Indeed, and she looks kind,” another one exclaimed. Raven smiled but was too shy to look in their direction, so she lowered her head.

“Lift your head, Raven. A Luna’s head is never bowed,” Alpha Denzel said. She quickly lifted her head, beholding the beauty of the pack before her.

The pack members were still shouting positive things that made her acceptance of Alpha Ludwig worth it.

“Our Luna is from the evergreen pack. See, she’s being escorted by Alpha Denzel himself.”

It made the pack feel safe that Alpha Denzel was on their side because of Raven, making her even more admired.

“I heard that our Luna has special skills with herbs,” another one said. Raven chuckled, wondering how there were always truths in the rumors that spread around the packs.

Still, what the next pack member said amidst the cheers and confetti made her cheeks crimson.

“We hope she gives us beautiful pups like herself.”

Those words made her nervous because she was going to be marked and mated with, when she didn’t even know how to kiss.

Even among rogues, she was protected by her father, and at the evergreen pack, Alpha Denzel and Luna Valerie were very strict on wrong mating, so there were never such cases around the pack.

Alpha Denzel’s face was expressionless, but internally, he was happy for this. No wonder the packs were already trying to gain Ludwig’s partnership.

The transformation was amazing, especially the different colored trees planted along the driveways. They were not fully grown but still radiated immense beauty through the walkways.

Arriving at the pack house, there was another feast waiting, and Raven was happy when the servants served their meals, each of them bubbly.

As usual, Alpha Denzel did not eat, only sipping wine, as he called Valerie on the phone to check on her and Denver.

Beta Liam was all over Raven, introducing and explaining various delicacies of the Black Fur Pack to her.

Raven’s simple mind did not drive her into thinking negatively, but Alpha Denzel and Ludwig were more mature.

When Alpha Denzel glared at Alpha Ludwig before glancing at Beta Liam, Alpha Ludwig quickly pressed his hand on that of his beta.

“It’s enough, Liam. I can take care of my mate,” he said sternly. Raven stiffened when she saw the looks in both Alpha Denzel and Ludwig’s eyes.

Liam forced a smile. “I’m sorry, Alpha. She reminds me a lot of Alice. I just felt like doing for her what I was not able to do for Alice.”

Raven already knew that Alice was originally from this pack but had no idea what she went through.

Not meaning to sow a seed of discomfort inside her, Alpha Denzel did not allow the details of that matter to be brought to light.

“Well, Alice was not your Luna, but Raven is. As such, you should treat her as a Luna and not some kid sister,” Alpha Denzel said seriously. Beta Liam forced a smile before nodding.

“You are right,” he said. Then he turned to Raven. “Luna, please help yourself.”

Alpha Ludwig began passing things to her, placing them within her reach. Things were a bit awkward between them, but Alpha Denzel knew it was just a matter of time.

“Alpha Denzel, I will show you to your room first,” Alpha Ludwig said when dinner was over, but Alpha Denzel refused the offer.

“No. Let Liam take me. You should take care of your Luna.”

Raven looked around nervously, partly guessing the hidden intention in Alpha Denzel’s words.

“I will show you to our room,” Alpha Ludwig held his hand out to Raven, and she nervously accepted it.

“Alpha Denzel, please, I will show you to your room,” Beta Liam said. Alpha Denzel obliged. He liked the room, but it felt lonely without Valerie, so he went out for a walk.

There was just one problem. As soon as he stepped out, he saw Alpha Ludwig pacing back and forth, with an anxious look in his eyes.

“Tell me, what happened?” he asked. Alpha Ludwig was quite nervous.
