Chapter 445: Chapter 445 – Knowing More About Denver
“What are you talking about?” Alpha Denzel asked. Valerie stared at Denver again, but the expression from before was completely gone.

For a moment, she thought she was seeing things incorrectly, but that did not seem to be the case. She was certain of it.

That pup was strange, but he was also hers, so she could not just brush it aside. Valerie hoped that Denzel would believe her so that together, they could seek help for their pup.

“He smirked at me. I swear, I saw it,” she said, knowing that no one would believe her, but Alpha Denzel did.

It would have been unbelievable if he had not experienced the mysterious characteristics of their pup as well.

This development was progressing too quickly, and they were afraid that he might deteriorate too fast as well.

“I didn’t see it, but trust me, I believe you,” Denzel replied to her in a hushed tone. Her heart warmed at the fact that he didn’t think she was going crazy.

Nevertheless, they could discuss the rest in private, so the only problem was how to let Denver feed since his refusal was causing Valerie engorgement.

“So, what happens to the breast milk?” She asked helplessly. Alice suggested, “Luna, why not pump it for me to feed him?”

She was enjoying her time with Denver, as the cute pup was not giving her any trouble at all.

“Good point,” Valerie said, returning about an hour later with two bottles of breast milk, diapers, and some wipes. But to her shock, Denver consumed all the two bottles in one go and in less than ten minutes because he was being fed by Alice.

Denzel and Valerie returned to their room, and Valerie pumped some more breast milk, sending it to them before preparing to go to bed but realized something odd.

Denzel was bringing out some old books he hadn’t read in a long time.

Most of those books were for research purposes and were supposed to be in the library or office, but Denzel kept them on his shelf for fear of losing them.

It was not as if any of the pack members were thieves, but if there was a bad nut among them, a lot of harm would be caused before they even realized the book was missing.

These were not like their day-to-day books, so Denzel’s sudden indulgence in them meant something very important.

“What are you looking for?” Valerie asked worriedly. Denzel kept searching the pages. “I want to know our pup better, so we know how to treat him better too.”

Valerie confirmed that her suspicions about their pup’s behaviors were true. “Are you thinking that he’s different?”

“Yes, very different. And if he’s going to have your powers as an addition, then no one would be able to control him if we don’t find his strengths and weaknesses.”

It was strange that after all their experience, they still had to research a lot to know exactly the kind of pup their DNAs produced.

“Now I’m getting scared,” Valerie said nervously. Denzel’s arms wrapped around her waist, and he kissed her on the forehead when she continued to explain the reason for her fears.

“I almost passed out when Alice said he ate bananas and papaya.”

After some thought, Denzel felt the need for Valerie to know about what he found out too, asking, “Will you believe me if I tell you that I saw him walking earlier?”

“No,” Valerie shook her head. This was too much for her, and her fears only increased with the information.

“Yes, he did. And I don’t know how much more he is hiding,” Denzel said seriously. Valerie thought about their history books and all that she learned growing up.

A shiver ran through her when she suddenly asked, “Denzel, could he be the mysterious Dark Wolf?”

Alpha Denzel smirked, hugged her tightly, then pulled away. His attention returned to the book he was looking for earlier. “That’s what I’m trying to confirm.”

The understanding was growing deeper inside Valerie’s bones, and she began to join the search for the particular history book Denzel was searching for.

“But legend says the mysterious Dark Wolf was just a myth.”

“It’s the same thing they said about the Luna Wolf before, but then, a woman named Diana had it before you and now, Raven,” he reminded Valerie. “If our pup is showing signs of what history terms as a myth, then we have to take the right measures in bringing him up.”

“True. I will help. Which of the history books are you looking for?” Valerie asked after checking a few titles and dropping the books because they had no clues in them.

“The ones about the traditional wolves,” Denzel hinted. Then he remembered something very important. “Only Aunty Fernanda has the complete book of the werewolves. I do hope, though, that I will be able to get something here.”

If he failed to get what he was looking for, then he would have no choice but to travel to the Litha Moon Pack for it.

No matter the situation, he was going to research more about his son to understand him better. It was his responsibility as a father and Alpha.

“What about this one? Secret of the Ancient Wolves?” Valerie found a book with a blue cover and lifted it up. Denzel smiled a little and instructed.

“Check the content and see if there is anything about the mysterious Black Wolf.”

Valerie quickly did so, her hands shaking slightly. “There is.”

Alpha Denzel felt like he was getting close to what he was looking for but could not help feeling nervous about it.

Halting his search, he looked around carefully. “Great, let’s find a relaxing position first.”

“The bed is the most relaxing place, but I hope you won’t cause trouble,” Valerie said teasingly. Denzel could not believe how her mind could still be so naughty when they were trying to find something so important.

Then again, he could not blame her because assuming he got the information he wanted about their pup, he would have indeed tried to get intimate with her.

“I will, but after getting what we both want,” he said honestly. Valerie chuckled, liking his honesty.
