Chapter 1145: Cousin?
Villain Ch 1145.
Cousin?
The group began to break up, Mila followed closely behind Elio, but her steps were slow, hesitant.
She glanced around nervously, making sure James and Noah weren’t lurking nearby, before her eyes landed on Azura, who was just about to leave.
Something in Mila’s chest tightened.
She had to speak to her now-before the others could interfere, before her courage faded.
“Hey,” Mila called out to Elio, her voice trembling a bit.
“I…
I want to talk to Valkyrie for a moment.
Alone.” Elio raised an eyebrow but didn’t question her.
He gave her a nod, glancing at Azura.
“Sure, go ahead.
I’ll wait for you here.” Mila watched as Elio walked off, giving her some space.
Then, gathering her nerves, she approached Azura.
“Valkyrie…” Mila called, her voice almost shy.
It was strange addressing Azura by her in-game name.
But this conversation wasn’t about the game.
Azura, who had been walking away, stopped in her tracks.
She turned around, raising an eyebrow as she looked at Mila.
“What’s up?” she asked, her tone curious but cautious.
Mila hesitated for a second, glancing around the busy streets of Ront City.
Too many eyes, too many ears.
“I need to talk to you.
But…
Can we go somewhere more private?” Azura’s brow furrowed in confusion.
“About what?” Mila shifted on her feet, her eyes darting around again.
She wasn’t sure how to even start this conversation, but she knew it couldn’t happen out in the open.
“It’s…
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
about Allen,” she finally said, her voice barely audible.
That caught Azura off guard.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as a flash of confusion crossed her face.
“Allen?” she repeated, clearly unsure where this was going.
But something about Mila’s tone, the way she seemed so desperate, made Azura curious.
She nodded.
“Alright, lead the way.” Instead of taking her to the tavern or anywhere crowded, Mila led her down a small, quiet alley at the edge of the city.
The sounds of the bustling players grew faint.
Azura followed.
When they finally stopped, Azura glanced around, clearly uncomfortable with the location.
“Why here?
The tavern would’ve been better.
This place feels like the setup for a bad PvP ambush,” she said, her tone half-joking, trying to ease the tension.
But Mila didn’t smile.
“No,” Mila said, shaking her head.
“I don’t want my brother to know about this.” Azura’s eyes sharpened.
“Okay…
now you’ve got my attention,” she said, her voice lowering.
Her guard was up, and Mila could feel it.
“Before we start,” Mila asked cautiously, “are you streaming right now?” Azura looked slightly offended but kept her tone calm.
“No.
I’ve ended my stream.
I wouldn’t be talking to you about this if I were.” Mila took a deep breath, steadying herself for what she was about to say.
Her hands fidgeted nervously as she looked at Azura.
“You know Allen, right?” Azura tilted her head, still unsure where Mila was going with this.
“Yeah, of course I know Allen.
What’s this about?” Mila bit her lip, the words tumbling out faster than she could stop them.
“I saw you hugging him.
At the station.” Azura blinked in surprise.
“What?” she asked, frowning in confusion.
Mila quickly clarified, her voice shaking slightly.
“My maid…
she saw you.
She snapped a picture of you two together and gave it to me.” She could feel her face heating up, embarrassment creeping in.
Azura froze for a moment as the memory came back to her-the day Allen had dropped her off at the station.
She hadn’t thought much of it at the time, but now, knowing that someone had been watching, made her stomach twist.
She didn’t like this at all.
Azura’s expression hardened, her voice now tinged with irritation.
“Wait…
were you spying on me?
Did you send someone to follow him?” Mila flinched at the accusation, shaking her head quickly.
“No, no!
I didn’t…” She hesitated, her voice faltering.
“I didn’t send anyone to follow you or him.
It wasn’t like that.” Azura crossed her arms, her gaze sharp as she studied Mila’s face.
“Then what was it like?
Because right now, it feels like you’re accusing me of something or spying on me.” Mila struggled to find the right words, her heart racing in her chest.
She hadn’t meant to come across as accusing Azura of anything, but now that she was here, it felt like she was walking on thin ice.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” Mila said softly, her voice almost pleading.
“It’s just…
I’ve been dealing with a lot lately.
My brother and…
and Noah, they’re always using me for something.
I know they only see me as a way to get to people like Allen.
And when I saw the picture, I just…
I had to know.” Azura’s expression softened slightly as she realized this wasn’t just about her and Allen-it was about something deeper.
Something personal to Mila.
“Okay…” she said, her tone calmer now.
“So what do you want to know?” Mila’s hands fidgeted nervously again, her gaze dropping to the ground.
“I just want to know…
what’s going on between you and Allen,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Azura gave her a sharp look, her eyes narrowing slightly as she crossed her arms.
“Cousin,” she said flatly.
Mila blinked in confusion.
“Huh?” Azura sighed and repeated herself.
“Cousin.
We’re not blood-related, and I only found out recently.
But yes, we’re cousins.
That’s the truth.” Mila’s breath hitched, her mind racing.
“W-What?
H-How?” she stammered, the words coming out in a rush.
This was not what she had expected.
Not at all.
Azura’s expression softened just a bit, though her posture remained guarded.
“That’s all I can tell you,” she said firmly.
“The rest, you have to ask Allen yourself.” She turned, clearly ready to walk away from the conversation, but something stopped her in her tracks.
Her shoulders tensed, and she slowly pivoted back toward Mila.
“Wait…” Azura’s tone shifted, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
“Is this why Mac and the others were whispering behind my back?
Is this what they’ve been talking about?” Mila bit her lip, nodding reluctantly.
She didn’t want to cause more tension, but the truth had already slipped out.
“Yeah,” she admitted softly.
“They’ve been…
talking about it.” Azura grunted in frustration, running a hand through her hair.
“Right…
this is so annoying,” she muttered, her eyes blazing with irritation.
She turned to Mila, her expression hardening as she shot her a sharp glare.
“You better take responsibility for this,” she said, her voice low and dangerous.
“If not, I’ll assume you’ve been following me and Allen around, spying on us.
And I’ll report it to the police.” Mila’s heart raced, her throat tightening at Azura’s accusation.
She hadn’t expected things to escalate so quickly, but now she felt cornered.
Her mouth opened and closed as she struggled to find the words.
“I-I wasn’t spying!
I swear!” Mila stammered, her voice shaking.
“I just…
I saw a picture.
My maid saw you two at the station and sent it to me.
That’s all!
I didn’t mean for it to be like this…” Azura’s gaze softened just a fraction, but there was still a sharp edge to her tone.
“Look, I don’t like people snooping around in my business.
Especially not when it involves family.” She paused, her expression shifting from anger to something more like frustration.
“If you were anyone else, this would’ve ended differently.” Mila’s heart pounded in her chest.
“I’m sorry…
I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.
I just wanted to know the truth,” she whispered, her eyes pleading for Azura to believe her.
Azura stared at her for a moment, her arms still crossed over her chest.
Then she sighed deeply, the tension in her shoulders relaxing just a bit.
“Fine,” she muttered, her voice losing some of its harshness.
“But you need to clean up this mess with your brother and his friends.
They’ve been stirring up drama, and I’m not about to let it slide.” Mila nodded quickly, feeling a mix of relief and lingering anxiety.
“I will, I promise,” she said earnestly.
“I’ll talk to them.
I don’t want them causing any more problems either.” Azura’s eyes flicked toward the quiet alley around them, then back to Mila.
Her tone was firm, a warning laced with finality.
“Good.
Because if I hear any more rumors, or if I find out someone’s been following me, I’m not going to be as patient next time.” Note: Okay, now I will start the poll for Azura.
Should I take her as Allen’s harem member or not?
Please answer in the comment section.
I will close this poll at the end of November.
