Chapter 1159: Like A Gremlin Chapter 1159: Like A Gremlin Villain Ch 1159.
Like A Gremlin The rest of the group exchanged glances, their expressions ranging from confusion to mild amusement.
Larissa was the first to break the awkward silence, rubbing the back of her neck and trying not to cringe.
“So…
while Shea and Jane’s backstories are these tragic, soul-crushing tales, Bella’s story is…
well, rather stupid.” “Hey!” Bella snapped, glaring at her, though her irritation was quickly undercut by her own frustration with the situation.
“It’s not stupid.
I’m-she’s just a brat.
Clearly, this little version of me hasn’t learned the hard lessons yet.” “Yeah, that’s it.” Jane smirked, clearly enjoying the drama.
“I mean, my backstory is filled with betrayal and death, and Bella’s just got a fox running around stealing bells and giggling like a gremlin.” Alice shook her head, trying to suppress a laugh.
“Well, every great villain has a rough start, right?” “Rough start?” Shea chimed in with a chuckle.
“More like a goofy start.
No offense, Bella.
But this is…
something else.” Bella covered her face with both hands, groaning dramatically.
“This is so unfair,” she muttered, peeking through her fingers, clearly embarrassed by how her backstory was playing out.
Shea slipped her arms around Bella in a playful hug.
“There, there.
Don’t cry.
Come to mommy,” she cooed, grinning from ear to ear.
Bella leaned into it, faking a sob as she buried her face in Shea’s shoulder.
“Pamper me, mommy,” she said in an exaggerated, dramatic tone, sniffling for effect.
The rest of the group couldn’t help but roll their eyes or snicker.
Alice shook her head, muttering, “This is getting ridiculous.” Allen sighed, ignoring the theatrics as best he could.
“Let’s just finish this,” he said, his voice cutting through the banter as he opened his inventory.
The bells-the ones that had been causing them all this-glowed faintly as he pulled them out.
He held them up for a moment.
The fox, still trapped in Allen’s Telekinesis, caught sight of the bells and immediately started shrieking in panic.
Its mocking tone was gone, replaced by genuine fear.
“No, no, no!

I don’t want it!
I don’t want the emperor to kill me!” But there was no stopping it.
The bells glowed brighter, and as if pulled by some invisible force, they floated through the air, snapping onto the fox’s collar with a sharp clink.
[You just completed a quest: The Corrupted Bells] The moment the bells fastened to its neck, the fox let out a piercing cry of pain, its body writhing in the air as Allen’s telekinetic grip held firm.
The group watched, horrified, as the fox’s laughter turned to agonized sobs.
Bella, still half-hugging Shea, glanced at the fox with a grimace.
“I haven’t even smacked her yet,” she muttered.
The fox’s cries grew louder, echoing through the forest, and suddenly the air around them felt heavy-unnaturally so.
It wasn’t just the fox’s wails anymore.
A low, guttural growl rumbled from somewhere beyond the fog, followed by another, then another.
Vivian was the first to react, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the area.
“What the hell is that?” Allen’s attention shifted from the quest to the growing tension around them.
The fox curled into a ball in mid air, clutching the bells on its collar as it sobbed, but no one had time to focus on it anymore.
Zoe took a step forward, her gaze piercing through the fog.
“We’re not alone.
Look.” Red eyes-glowing, menacing eyes-appeared from behind the mist, one by one.
The fog seemed to come alive with movement, shifting and swirling as shadowy figures began to emerge, their growls growing louder with every passing second.
“Oh, fantastic, we’re surrounded,” Shea muttered, her tone losing its playfulness as she tightened her grip on her weapon.
“What now?” “We fight,” Alice said without hesitation.
She quickly surveyed the scene, the creatures closing in on them from all sides.
The red-eyed beasts were still obscured by the fog, but there was no mistaking the threat they posed.
“Here we go again,” Jane grumbled, stepping forward as she readied one of her necromantic spells.
“I should’ve known this wouldn’t be easy,” Bella added, shaking off her earlier embarrassment as she readied herself for the impending battle.
She glanced down at the fox, who was still whimpering and clutching its collar, then back at the creatures.
“Great.
I just wanted to smack her a little, and now we’ve got a full-on monster ambush.” “This is definitely part of the quest,” Alice said, her voice calm as her fingers twitched, ready to use her skills.
“I’m guessing these things are connected to the demonic energy the fox was talking about.” Allen kept his gaze on the sobbing fox, still suspended in his Telekinesis grip.
He spared a glance at his companions, his expression confident but watchful.
“You guys can handle this, right?” he asked, his voice steady.
It was more a statement than a question, as if he already knew the answer.
Zoe cracked her knuckles, her tentacles writhing at her sides as she prepared for battle.
“Don’t worry, Allen.
We got this,” she said, flashing him a confident grin.
“I was born for this,” Bella added with a smirk, shaking off her earlier embarrassment and channeling it into determination.
Her eyes gleamed as she readied her spells, the electric energy crackling around her fingers.
The fog parted just enough for the first of the creatures to step forward-hulking, wolf-like beasts with dark, matted fur and glowing red eyes. Larissa took a deep breath, her blood blade tendrils glinting in the eerie light.
“Okay, let’s make this quick.
I’m not interested in hanging around these things any longer than necessary.” “Agreed,” Vivian chimed in, her eyes narrowing as she took out her whip.
“The sooner we wipe them out, the better.” The creatures lunged as one, their claws tearing through the mist as they charged.
The ground beneath them seemed to tremble.
“Let’s go!” Zoe shouted, summoning her Leviathan’s Rage.
Massive tentacles shot out from the ground, slamming into the approaching creatures with brutal force.
One of the wolves howled in pain as it was flung into the air, crashing down with a sickening thud.
