Chapter 1164: Worth It!
Villain Ch 1164.
Worth It!
Sliding into his seat across from her, Allen didn’t say anything at first, just watched as Emma speared another forkful of pasta, chewing thoughtfully.
He could see it in her eyes-she knew he wasn’t thrilled, and she wasn’t exactly sure what to expect.
Finally, she broke the silence with a hesitant glance his way.
“What?” she mumbled, trying to sound casual, but Allen could tell she was just as on edge as he was.
Allen gave her a dry smile.
“Oh, you know, just waiting for the inevitable circus.
I hope you know that Dad isn’t going to let this slide,” he said, his tone sharper than he intended.
Emma rolled her eyes, though she looked more uneasy than defiant.
“Yeah, yeah, I know.
It was worth it, though, right?
I mean, come on-when else would I have a chance to mess with you like that?” she replied, trying to inject some humor but clearly failing to cover her nerves.
Allen shook his head, sighing.
“Emma, do you realize how close you came to getting banned from the game?
For real?” He watched her expression shift, the faintest hint of guilt crossing her face.
“This wasn’t just a prank.
The developers are probably pulling their hair out right now.” Emma fiddled with her fork, a faint blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Look, I knew what I was doing… mostly.
And besides, I knew you and Kafra could fix it if it really got that bad,” she said, attempting a weak smile.
Allen raised an eyebrow, skeptical.
“That doesn’t make it any better.
Honestly, it’s exhausting cleaning up after you every time you decide to ‘have fun’ like that.” She gave a half-hearted shrug, clearly trying to downplay the gravity of it all.
“Fine, fine.
Go ahead, scold me.
I knew this was coming.” She shifted uncomfortably, glancing down at her plate before taking another reluctant bite, as if trying to find comfort in her meal.
Allen let out a heavy sigh, leaning back in his chair.
“Honestly, I’d rather not even bother right now.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
You know what you did.
But trust me, if I hear one more ‘surprise’ like this from you, don’t expect me to just go along with it.
There are limits, Emma.” Before she could respond, the dining room door swung open, and Jordan entered.
The air in the room shifted immediately as both Allen and Emma straightened up, their casual tones fading away in an instant.
Jordan took his seat at the head of the table, his gaze flicking between the two of them.
“So,” Jordan began, his voice low and controlled, though his expression betrayed a glimmer of disappointment.
“Mind telling me what happened today?
Because from what I’ve heard, there was quite the disruption to the event.” Emma swallowed, her fork clinking against her plate as she looked away, unwilling to meet her father’s eyes.
“I… kind of just joined the event,” she mumbled, her voice barely audible.
“Kind of?” Jordan’s tone was sharp.
“Emma, this isn’t just about joining a game.
This is about violating trust and boundaries.
We had protocols in place.
You think they’re there for decoration?” Allen watched Emma struggle under Jordan’s gaze, and for a moment, he wanted to say one or two things for her.
Still, he kept his mouth shut, sensing it was best for her to handle this on her own.
Emma shifted, clearly uncomfortable, but she tried to maintain her composure.
“I just wanted to make things… interesting.
Shake it up a little, that’s all.” Jordan’s expression hardened.
“Interesting?
You undermined the event, the work of an entire team, because you thought it would be ‘fun’?
Do you have any idea the damage that could have caused?” Allen watched her fumble for a response, but she remained silent, her confidence faltering under their father’s scrutiny.
She finally managed a weak, “I’m sorry,” though even she seemed to know it wouldn’t be enough.
Jordan’s expression was unmoved.
He let out a measured sigh, his gaze steady and cold.
“Sorry isn’t going to fix this.
This time, you crossed a line that can’t just be brushed off.” Emma’s face grew pale, the usual spark in her eyes dimming into something almost fearful.
She opened her mouth, but no words came.
Allen could see her mind racing, but he stayed silent, knowing this wasn’t his moment to jump in.
Finally, she managed to ask, her voice barely above a whisper, “So… what should I do?” Jordan’s response was swift, as if he’d been prepared for this question all along.
“I’m going to revoke your access to the game-completely.
You’re banned until further notice.” Emma’s face went pale.
“No…
please, Dad, anything but that.” Her voice cracked, and there was an edge of desperation in her eyes.
“I…
I’ll do anything.
Just…
don’t ban me.” Jordan’s stare sharpened.
“After everything that happened, what exactly do you expect?
You nearly disrupted a major event.
The developers had to scramble to contain the damage.
I can’t just let that go without consequences.” “But it was just-” Emma started, then stopped, realizing defending herself would probably only make things worse.
Her shoulders slumped, and she looked down at her half-finished plate, her fingers trembling slightly as she fiddled with her fork.
Allen could see that his father’s decision was unyielding, and it wasn’t just a punishment for Emma.
It was a statement-a message about responsibility and trust, one that he couldn’t ignore.
He wanted to step in, to soften the blow or maybe give his own lecture to her, but he knew his words wouldn’t change anything and he didn’t have the heart to make everything worse than this.
He just watched.
“Dad, please…” Emma’s voice was small now, almost pleading.
“I know I messed up, but… I also helped you to develop the game.” She took a shaky breath, meeting her father’s gaze.
“I’ll make it right.
I’ll apologize to the developers, and I’ll stay out of any big events, but please…
don’t take this away from me.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
