Chapter 1171: Why Not Moment Chapter 1171: Why Not Moment Villain Ch 1171.
Why Not Moment Allen looked so relaxed.
He already opened his jacket.
His shirt was unbuttoned just enough to give him that casual, slightly untamed look she’d grown to love.
Bella couldn’t help but feel her heart skip a beat as he gazed at her, his eyes warm and slightly mischievous, as if he already knew the effect he had on her.
‘He probably does,’ she thought, fighting a blush.
The waiter arrived just then, greeting them with a polished smile, handing them their menus.
“Good evening, sir, madam.
Can I start you off with some appetizers?” “Good evening,” Allen responded casually, glancing at the menu.
“Actually, I think I’ll only have some roasted vegetables.” Bella raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at her lips.
“Roasted vegetables, huh?
That’s a first,” she remarked, noticing the light surprise on his face.
“I already ate earlier, remember?” he said, casually shrugging.
Bella almost went for the roasted vegetables too-she was just glad to have a chance to relax with him, really.
But before she could even open her mouth to order, Allen gave her that knowing look, eyebrows lifting just a fraction as he said, “You need more than that, Bella.
Get something good.” A flicker of something both warm and embarrassed flared in her chest.
‘Of course,’ she thought.
She sighed and finally let herself sink into the moment, deciding to let him take the lead this time.
“I will take today’s signature dish.” Which the waiter immediately noted with a polite nod.
“Do you want some wine?” the waiter asked, his voice quiet and professional.
“Yes,” Allen said firmly, before Bella could even think of an answer.
She was grateful, really-wine would help her relax, take the edge off.
Bella watched as Allen leaned back, his gaze drifting out to the ocean for a moment before he turned those intense eyes back to her.
There was something about the way he looked at her, his usual playful glint softened by something deeper.
It made her pulse quicken, her heart thudding a little faster, as though he could see every little thought spinning in her head.
Bella cleared her throat, reaching for her glass of water as she offered a small, playful smile.
“You know, I thought you’d go for something simpler.
This is…
honestly more than I expected.” She paused, the words tumbling out without much thought.
She could still remember the call she’d made to him earlier.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
It was just her spontaneous plan.
It had been a casual, spur-of-the-moment idea, one she hadn’t put much planning into.
She’d half-expected him to pick a nearby fast food spot or even settle for a drive-through.
A simple, low-key dinner would’ve been enough for her; she hadn’t expected… this.
Allen chuckled, resting his chin in his hand as he studied her with a smirk.
“You’re my girlfriend.
What did you expect, Bella?
Did you really think I’d take you to some fast-food place?” He said it with a lightness that implied he was joking, but Bella couldn’t help the way she smiled awkwardly, her cheeks warming as she shrugged.
“Honestly?” She gave a slight nod, laughing nervously.
“Maybe… yeah, I kinda did.
I didn’t think you’d go to all this trouble.
The chocolate and everything here…” Her voice trailed off, and she looked down at her menu, fiddling with the edge of it.
“It’s just… more than I expected.” Allen’s chuckle faded, and a flicker of disbelief crossed his face as he leaned forward, studying her with a slightly raised brow.
“You… can’t be serious.” He leaned back, eyeing her with a mix of amusement and disbelief, clearly trying to gauge if she was kidding.
“Dead serious!” Bella bit her lip, feeling both embarrassed and strangely defensive.
“What?
I mean, I don’t see anything wrong with fast food.
It’s quick, easy, and doesn’t require any grand gestures.” Allen gave her a look, one eyebrow quirked as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Me neither,” he said, his voice softening.
“Except for the nutritional value.
And, you know, it’s not exactly the most… suitable choice for dinner.
Also, fast food doesn’t exactly scream ‘special evening.’ Besides…” He leaned a bit closer, his voice dropping as his eyes held hers with an amused intensity.
“I’m a young master now, right?
Gotta give my girlfriend something a little more… appropriate.” Bella’s heart skipped a beat, a nervous laugh slipping from her lips as she met his gaze, feeling both flattered and overwhelmed.
“Right.
Young master.
Gotta keep up the image,” she teased, though her voice sounded softer than she intended.
His eyes softened, and for a second, he seemed to see right through her playful facade.
“This isn’t about keeping up an image.
It’s about giving you something meaningful.
I mean, you deserve more than just a burger and fries.” She stared at him.
She’d called him tonight on a whim, not expecting him to even pick up, let alone agree to meet her.
It was one of those impulsive decisions, a moment of “why not” that she could have easily backed out of if he hadn’t sounded so genuinely interested.
And here he was, treating her to this view, this moment.
“Allen,” she said quietly, trying to keep her voice steady.
“I didn’t even expect you to show up.
I called, but I didn’t think you’d actually… you know…” He smiled, resting his hand on the table between them, just close enough that she could reach out and touch him if she wanted to.
“Well, here I am.
You know I wouldn’t just brush you off.” The waiter returned, gently placing a glass of wine in front of each of them and pouring the dark, rich liquid.
Bella took hers eagerly, hoping it would steady her nerves.
She glanced over at Allen, watching him as he swirled his glass casually, his gaze flicking from the deep red wine to her, that familiar, mischievous smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
‘Ah… that smirk,’ she thought, feeling her pulse quicken again.
‘I feel like he’s playing with me.’ Without waiting for a toast, she took a quick sip, letting the warmth of the wine spread through her.
She didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing how easily he got under her skin.
