Chapter 1172: Accident Chapter 1172: Accident Villain Ch 1172.
Accident Allen brought his glass to his lips, taking a slow sip without breaking eye contact.
The intensity sent a thrill through her that she wasn’t prepared for.
‘Why do I feel more under pressure with the real Allen than when he was in his Devil Emperor avatar?’ she wondered, her thoughts spinning.
No, the real question was, why did she feel so nervous right now?
She wondered if it was because Alice wasn’t with her.
Her best friend, her partner in crime, always knew how to diffuse tension, turn any situation into a playful banter, or at least keep her grounded.
Without Alice here, the whole evening felt heavier, more charged.
She didn’t know what to do.
She glanced back at Allen, who was still watching her, and tried to suppress the flutter in her chest.
“Something on your mind?” he asked, his voice low, smooth, carrying that easy confidence.
Bella hesitated, her fingers tracing the stem of her glass as she searched for the right words.
“Just… not used to this, I guess,” she said finally, her voice quieter than she intended.
Allen tilted his head, his gaze softening.
“Not used to what?
A nice dinner?
Wine?” he teased, a hint of a smirk returning.
She rolled her eyes, though she couldn’t help the small smile tugging at her lips.
“The whole… serious thing.” she admitted, a little surprised by her own honesty.
She looked away, hoping he wouldn’t read too much into it.
He laughed, and the sound was warm, genuine.
“Serious?
This is serious to you?” He leaned forward, propping his chin on his hand, that mischievous glint back in his eyes.
“I can goof around, too, if that’s what you prefer.
Maybe start tossing breadsticks?” She laughed despite herself, imagining Allen chucking breadsticks across the table, the mental image absurd yet oddly fitting.
She shook her head, finally meeting his gaze.
“Please don’t.
I don’t think the staff would appreciate that.
And besides, I don’t know if you’re that good of an aim,” she teased.
Allen leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms with a mock-offended look.

“Excuse me?
I am a great shot.
You doubt me?” She smirked, taking another sip of wine, savoring the taste as she tried to push down her nerves.
“You’re a great shot in the game,” she countered.
“In real life?
I don’t know, I’d have to see it to believe it.” “Challenge accepted,” he said, his eyes narrowing in a playful glint that made her stomach do a little flip.
“But maybe not tonight.
I don’t want to get us kicked out before we even start eating.” She laughed again, but this time, it felt easier, more natural.
The tension that had clung to her since the beginning of the night was starting to ease, just a little, and she allowed herself to relax into the conversation.
Maybe this wouldn’t be as intimidating as she thought.
“So, seriously though…” she began, glancing down at her glass, swirling the wine absently as she tried to organize her thoughts.
“Why the fancy setup?
The view, the wine… all of this?” She gestured toward the beautifully laid-out table, the soft candlelight flickering between them.
“I mean, I wasn’t expecting, you know…” She trailed off, unsure how to finish without sounding ungrateful.
She took a steadying breath.
“I just… want to see you.” Allen’s eyes softened, and his expression grew serious.
He reached out, resting his hand just close enough to hers that she could feel the warmth radiating from his skin.
“And you are seeing me.” She looked up, meeting his gaze, and felt her heart give an involuntary leap.
There was something about the way he said it that made her feel… vulnerable, in a way she wasn’t used to.
He smirked then, as if sensing her hesitation, his tone growing lighter.
“I know you’re used to jokes and casual meetups, maybe a little chaos thrown in for good measure.
But, once in a while, I think a night like this-something a bit out of the ordinary-might be a good thing.
Right?” Bella hesitated, her fingers tracing the rim of her wine glass.
She couldn’t deny that the change of pace was… nice.
More than nice, actually.
There was a part of her that had been secretly craving it, even if she hadn’t been ready to admit it.
“I guess you’re right,” she murmured, a small smile tugging at her lips.
“I mean, it is a pretty unforgettable setup.” A knowing gleam sparked in his eyes, and his smirk grew.
“Unforgettable, huh?” He leaned forward, lowering his voice.
“Well, if you think this is unforgettable, then you’ve got to be honest with me about what you almost did on my bike earlier.” His gaze dropped momentarily, a mischievous glint evident as he nodded toward his lap.
“I felt you-you almost touched my…” He trailed off, eyebrows raising suggestively.
Bella felt a surge of heat rush to her cheeks, and she quickly cleared her throat, avoiding his eyes as she tried to form a response.
“I can’t help it!
My hands were just… near there!
It was just an accident.” Her voice was defensive, but the hint of laughter in her tone betrayed her.
Allen let out a low laugh, clearly enjoying her flustered reaction.
“Oh, sure.
Accident, right?” She shot him a glare, though she couldn’t keep the blush from deepening.
“Yes, accident.
100%!
I’m innocent!” Allen chuckled, his voice dripping with playful skepticism.
“Right, I believe you,” he said, clearly not convinced, his teasing tone making her cheeks feel even warmer.
Bella took another sip of her wine, hoping the rich taste would somehow shield her from the flush creeping up her neck.
She was used to moments like this, but usually, she had Alice beside her, someone who could volley back every tease, every joke, without missing a beat.
If Alice were here, she’d probably be making some wildly inappropriate joke about how “innocent” Bella really was.
But tonight… Tonight, Bella felt different.
There was something about the way Allen was looking at her that made all her usual defenses-her sarcasm, her wit-falter.
And it was unnerving.
