Chapter 1197: Pick Me is A Problem Chapter 1197: Pick Me is A Problem Villain Ch 1197.
Pick Me is A Problem Sophia’s gaze narrowed, and she looked over at them, clearly sensing the disdain in the air.
“Is there a problem?” she asked coolly.
A third player, a rogue with a smirk on her face, shrugged.
“Not really, unless you count being a total ‘pick me’ as a problem.” Sophia’s expression hardened, but she forced a smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Excuse me?
I’m just here for the event like the rest of you.” “Sure you are,” one of the girls muttered under her breath, barely containing her sarcasm.
“Here for the event.
Totally.” Another girl, a healer with sharp eyes, shook her head.
“No, she’s here for Al-like always.
Every time we turn around, there’s Yora chasing him down like she’s the only one who deserves his attention.” Sophia’s face tightened, and she tilted her chin up defiantly.
“I have just as much right to be here as any of you.
If Al was here, I’m certainly not going to let the opportunity slip by.” “Of course, you wouldn’t,” the rogue said, rolling her eyes.
“You think he actually wants to see you?” Sophia’s eyes flashed with anger, but she held her ground.
“Al was here?” she asked, ignoring the remark and turning to the girl closest to her.
The girl shrugged, suppressing a smirk.
“Yeah, he was.
Apparently, he’s still here somewhere, using his Hiding skill.
Or maybe he just left to avoid certain people.” She shot a pointed look at Sophia.
Sophia’s expression wavered, a hint of irritation crossing her face.
“If he’s hiding, then it means he’s still around here.
He wouldn’t just leave, would he?” Another player scoffed, crossing her arms.
“Maybe he would if he knew you were coming, Yora.
Haven’t you noticed?” A fourth player chimed in, her tone laced with annoyance.
“Besides, don’t you already have a few guild leaders on your hook?
You’re already causing problems with Mac, Red_King, Father^Alex, and Mastercraft.
Sophia’s face darkened, her voice growing cold.
“I don’t owe any of you an explanation.
If Al’s here, then I’ll find him, and I don’t need anyone’s permission for that.” The healer scoffed, rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, good luck with that.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
You’re acting like he’ll just come running the second he hears you’re looking for him.
Newsflash, Yora-he doesn’t like you.
It’s obvious to everyone.” Sophia clenched her fists, her eyes blazing.
“Al doesn’t avoid me.
We… we have history.” “Yeah, and he’s not interested in re-living it,” the rogue shot back, giving Sophia a hard look.
“So maybe let the rest of us actually have a shot without you monopolizing him.” Sophia’s eyes flashed with fury, but she forced herself to calm down, drawing herself up with a defiant glare.
“Believe what you want.
If Al was here, he’d make himself known.” The healer chuckled, shaking her head.
“Keep telling yourself that.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are actually here for the event and not just to chase down a guy who’s clearly over you.” Sophia gritted her teeth but refused to respond, instead turning her attention back to the girls, her mind seething.
‘What a bunch of losers,’ she thought.
It took everything in her to bite her tongue and not snap back.
She knew she couldn’t risk a confrontation, not here, not when she was outnumbered.
There was no point in letting these nobodies get the better of her.
Besides, she had bigger things to focus on.
Besides… The rumors about “high-quality male players” weren’t about some elite team she’d imagined; they were about them-the very guild leaders she’d managed to alienate.
Elio, Mastercraft, Red_King… they were all here, and they were exactly what she needed: high-level players with powerful gear and influence.
‘If only I’d been more strategic,’ she thought bitterly.
‘If I’d been nicer to Elio, I wouldn’t have been kicked out of his guild.’ Now she was struggling, trying to find a new partner worthy of her.
It was harder than she’d expected.
None of the players in Arcane Wardens had Elio’s clout or access to top-tier gear.
Even then, Elio was just the stepping stone.
Her eyes were set on someone with a much more prestigious aura-Allen, or rather, Al.
Sophia had always been drawn to him, even in the game.
There was something enigmatic, something almost magnetic about him.
Unlike Elio, who led with charisma and reveled in the spotlight as a classic guild leader, Al was the dark horse, a player who lived in the shadows, yet made an impact every time he surfaced.
He was unpredictable, hard to find, and even harder to understand.
Every move he made seemed to be calculated, and people always talked about him.
There was a mystique to him that no one else could replicate.
Sophia wanted that.
She wanted to be part of that mystery, to have the prestige of being the one who could capture his attention.
It would make her stand out, elevate her status beyond even what Elio’s guild could offer.
But getting Al to take her seriously would be no easy feat.
He’d ignored her attempts at reconciliation, even gone out of his way to dodge her.
‘He probably thinks I’m desperate,’ she thought bitterly, her nails digging into her palms.
She needed to change her approach, to appear as though she wasn’t just another admirer, but someone who understood him.
Taking a deep breath, she straightened herself, taking a final, measured look around the room, mentally preparing her exit.
She couldn’t afford to look desperate, couldn’t risk leaving like one of the other girls here, visibly disappointed and hurt.
No, she had to appear composed, sophisticated-like she had something they didn’t.
“Al,” she said, her voice smooth and calm, with an almost theatrical tone.
“If you’re here, I’d like to talk.
Just… send me a private message.” She let the silence hang for a moment before adding, “Good luck avoiding all these other girls, though.
I know you, and I know exactly what type of person you are.” With that, she turned on her heel and walked to the door, her steps slow and purposeful.
