Chapter 1198: Not That Desperate Chapter 1198: Not That Desperate Villain Ch 1198.
Not That Desperate The other girls watched her leave, some of them scoffing, others muttering under their breath, but Sophia kept her head high, refusing to show any hint of frustration.
Once the door clicked shut behind her, the room burst into murmurs and whispers.
“What’s wrong with her?” one of them muttered, folding her arms and shaking her head.
“She’s really desperate,” another replied, sighing in exasperation.
“I mean, who just announces their target like that?” One of the others snorted, smirking.
“Desperate doesn’t even cover it.
Did you see how she acted?
Like she’s above all of us.
At least we’re not that obvious.” Another girl shook her head, a small smile on her lips.
“Hey, we’re desperate too, but not as bad as her.
Not by a long shot.” The rogue who had spoken up earlier rolled her eyes, adding in a whisper, “But it’s obvious she’s dead set on him, huh?
Like, she’s not even pretending to play it cool.” A healer leaned in, glancing at the others.
“I mean, it’s Al we’re talking about here.
He’s different.
Mysterious, exclusive-of course he’s going to draw that kind of attention.” The rogue scoffed, shrugging.
“Yeah, but the difference is we know how to respect boundaries.
That was just… pathetic.” The healer nodded, a knowing look crossing her face.
“Yeah.
But if she thinks she’s going to win him over by chasing him down like this, she’s in for a surprise.” They all exchanged glances, a silent understanding passing between them.
While they might all be vying for Al’s attention, there was an unspoken line they wouldn’t cross.
The rogue broke the silence, glancing around with hesitation.
“Should we stop this?” she asked softly.
“I mean… it feels like we’re no different than her, waiting outside a door for someone who clearly didn’t want to be found.” Another girl, a mage with a thoughtful look in her eyes, nodded slowly.
“You’re right.
This isn’t the way I pictured it either.
I thought we’d, I don’t know… maybe, actually talk to him.” The healer sighed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Yeah, same.
But this?
We’re just standing around hoping to catch him, like a bunch of groupies.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
It feels… desperate.” The rogue nodded, a slight frown creasing her forehead.
“Exactly.
And after watching her act like that?
I don’t want to stoop to her level.” One of the others, a swordswoman with her arms crossed, looked conflicted.
“But, I mean… he’s still here somewhere, right?
And we might not get a chance like this again.” The mage shook her head firmly, her gaze steady.
“If he wanted to talk, he’d come out and talk.
Al’s not the type to play games.
If we respect him, we’ll respect his privacy too.” There was a pause as they all absorbed her words, a shift in the air as the tension slowly dissolved.
It felt freeing, somehow, to let go of the chase, to stop competing with each other over someone they all admired.
One of the girls nodded, a soft smile on her face.
“Let’s just… let him be.
If we run into him again, great.
If not, we know we didn’t do something we’ll regret.” In another place, Allen had already come out of his portal and stood in front of his HQ.
Allen opened his group chat, typing quickly.
Azazel: Hey, where are you guys?
Almost immediately, the replies came in.
Abyssia: We’re in the meeting room.
Lilieth: You need to hear this.
Allen frowned, sensing something urgent but curious.
He didn’t reply, choosing instead to head straight for the meeting room.
When he entered, he found all seven of the girls already gathered around, chatting animatedly but falling silent as he entered.
He raised an eyebrow.
“Why aren’t you guys hunting?” Alice shot him a wry smile.
“Oh, I was hunting, actually.
But Bella wouldn’t stop talking about you.” Bella grinned, unabashed, shrugging.
“Can you blame me?
Someone decided to surprise me with a little… overnight adventure.” Zoe glanced over at Allen, raising an eyebrow.
“I have to say, Allen, I’m surprised you pulled out that kind of trick on her.” Allen moved to an empty seat, rolling his eyes.
“It wasn’t a trick.
She enjoyed it, didn’t she?” He gave Bella a knowing look.
Bella laughed, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
“I more than enjoyed it.
You planned it all perfectly.” She winked, adding, “The night was… unforgettable.” Vivian leaned in, giving Allen a teasing smile.
“Aww, look at you, going all romantic.
So, was it all candlelight and roses, or did you have some devilish twist in there somewhere?” Allen chuckled, leaning back in his chair.
“You really think I’d go full cliché?
No.
It was just a hotel, some peace and quiet… and someone who kept poking fun at me the whole time.” Bella nudged him, smirking.
“Oh, please.
You were the one looking all serious.
I just helped you lighten up a little.” Shea giggled, folding her arms and giving Bella a sly look.
“I think it’s adorable, honestly.
You got him to relax for once.” Allen rolled his eyes, exasperated but secretly amused.
“Alright, alright.
You all have had your fun.
But seriously, what’s with the urgent meeting?” Larissa leaned forward, giving him a warm smile.
“Before we get into that, we’re all a bit curious.
How’s Emma doing?” Allen’s expression softened slightly at the mention of his sister.
“She’s… alright, I guess.
Still reeling from a tough lesson our dad gave her, and she has to help with development for a while as a punishment.” Jane raised an eyebrow.
“Sounds like she’s had it rough.
But she’s lucky to have you around.” Zoe smirked, nudging Larissa.
“And lucky to have a brother who brings her chocolates to cheer her up, isn’t she?” Allen shifted in his seat, rolling his eyes again but smiling.
“Look, sometimes it’s the small things that count.
She was down, so… yeah, I got her some chocolate.” He bet Zoe knew it from Bella.
Vivian laughed, leaning closer with a grin.
“See, that’s what I love about you, Allen.
Just when we think we know what to expect, you keep us guessing.” Zoe raised a hand, still smirking.
“So, next time, chocolates and a night out, right?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
