Chapter 1209: Butthurt Fish Chapter 1209: Butthurt Fish Villain Ch 1209.
Butthurt Fish Vivian smirked, twirling her whip in one hand.
“If that’s the case, I’d like to submit some feedback.
‘Dear dungeon designer: Fire yourself.'” Shea glanced around nervously, her wings twitching.
“Okay, but jokes aside, this place gives me the creeps.
It’s too empty.
Dungeons are supposed to have something-traps, puzzles, monsters.
Not just… this endless void.” Allen sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“Agreed.
It feels like we’re walking into some kind of trap.
Stay sharp.
If we’re lucky, we’ll find something useful soon.” “If we’re lucky?” Larissa repeated, her tone skeptical.
“You’ve seen how this place works.
Luck doesn’t seem to be on our side.” Allen sighed, glancing around at the dark, seemingly infinite ocean floor.
“I know.
But unless someone has a better idea, we keep moving forward.” Jane, walking slightly ahead, pointed to some faintly glowing spots nearby.
“Well, we have a bunch of planktons here.” The group turned to look.
A slow-moving cluster of oversized plankton floated lazily by, their shapes too strange and twisted to resemble anything remotely natural.
Some had tiny, glowing orbs inside their bodies, while others looked like miniature jellyfish with odd, angular appendages.
“They’re… weird,” Shea muttered, her nose wrinkling.
“Are they even real plankton?” “They look more like props,” Alice said flatly.
“Like someone thought they’d be a nice decoration for this dungeon.” The girls stared at the creatures with unenthusiastic expressions, their excitement dulled by the dungeon’s endless stream of absurdity.
The plankton floated past without incident, leaving nothing but a faint trail of glowing particles in their wake.
Allen patted Jane’s shoulder, offering a dry smile.
“I know you’re trying to stay optimistic and cheer us up-” Before he could finish, Jane’s eyes widened.
Her hand shot out, pointing behind him.
“Look, guys!
A hint!” The entire group turned, their gazes following her finger.
In the distance, something broke the monotony of the barren ocean floor.
It was faint and far off, but unmistakably there!
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
A tangle of kelp rising like an island in the sea of emptiness.
“A kelp forest?” Zoe said, her voice tinged with disbelief.
Vivian blinked, rubbing her eyes as if to confirm she wasn’t imagining things.
“I can’t believe this… It’s like seeing an oasis in the middle of a desert.” Jane grinned triumphantly.
“See?
I told you staying optimistic pays off!” “It also screams trap,” Larissa muttered, her eyes narrowing.
“Anything that obvious in a place like this is probably too good to be true.” Allen nodded, his tone serious.
“She’s right.
Stay sharp.
This dungeon hasn’t exactly been subtle about throwing weird surprises at us.” Despite the warning, a flicker of hope reignited in the group as they moved toward the distant kelp.
The oppressive darkness seemed to lessen slightly as the forest came into clearer view.
Tall, swaying strands of kelp rose high into the water, their glowing tips casting a faint green light that illuminated the surrounding area.
It was oddly peaceful, like stepping into another world.
But the closer they got, the more Allen felt something was off.
The kelp was too uniform, the way it swayed too synchronized, like a rehearsed performance.
“Don’t let your guard down.” “Do we ever?” Zoe replied, her voice light but dripping with sarcasm as her tentacles lazily curled in the water.
She floated near Allen, her dark Kraken eyes narrowing at the glowing kelp forest that had started to feel less like a dungeon and more like a cheap underwater soap opera set.
The group had stumbled upon a hidden alcove nestled deep in the kelp forest.
The strands swayed rhythmically, but that wasn’t what caught their attention.
No, it was the group of mermaids lounging on oversized seashells, their scales shimmering faintly under the greenish glow.
They were gathered in a tight circle, whispering in hushed but intense voices, occasionally breaking into giggles or sneers.
“Are they…gossiping?” Shea asked, tilting her head, her translucent wings fluttering nervously.
“This doesn’t feel like the kind of behavior you’d expect from dungeon monsters.” Zoe snorted.
“Fish with drama?
Totally tracks.” Allen motioned for the group to stay quiet and crouched behind a thick patch of kelp, his voice low.
“Let’s just listen for a minute.
Maybe we’ll learn something useful.” “Useful?” Larissa muttered, crouching beside him, her red eyes glowing faintly.
“You think listening to fishy Mean Girls is going to help us?” “Shh!” Jane hissed, her dark robes brushing the sand as she knelt, her staff ready in her hands.
“They’re talking about someone.” The mermaids’ voices drifted toward them, high-pitched and musical, but with a venomous edge that made the group exchange uneasy glances.
“She has to be jealous,” one of the mermaids said, her voice lilting like a singsong threat.
“Why else would she lock herself away with him?
Everyone knows she’s nothing compared to us.” “Pfft, jealous?” another mermaid scoffed, her tail flicking dramatically.
“More like desperate.
Have you seen her lately?
Ugly as sea sludge.” A third mermaid leaned forward, her fins glinting as she whispered conspiratorially, “And don’t forget that prince she captured.
Poor guy.
He must be horrified.
Imagine being stuck with her.” “Oh, I’d save him if I could,” the first mermaid declared, her voice dripping with false sincerity.
“But, you know, the queen would probably kill me out of spite.” “She probably wants him for herself,” another chimed in, flicking her hair over her shoulder with a dramatic flair.
“As if that would make her any less hideous.” Allen raised an eyebrow, his mouth twitching in a barely restrained smirk.
The whole thing sounded ridiculous.
“Why does this sound like a bunch of butthurt women?” Zoe asked, her voice cutting through the tension like a knife.
“You mean fish?” Shea corrected, blinking innocently.
“Fish,” Zoe confirmed, her tone as dry as the desert.
“Butthurt fish.” Vivian snorted, barely containing a laugh.
“This is what passes for dungeon drama?
Sounds more like someone mashed up The Real Housewives and a budget fairytale.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
