Chapter 1212: A Ruin in the Depths Chapter 1212: A Ruin in the Depths Villain Ch 1212.
A Ruin in the Depths “Follow the blinking kelp eyes?” Vivian’s voice carried a mix of skepticism and humor as she twirled her whip absentmindedly.
“Yeah, sure, why not?
That’s not creepy at all.” But they didn’t have a better option, and the group knew it.
The kelp’s glowing tips pulsed softly, creating an almost hypnotic rhythm that seemed to beckon them forward.
Even Allen couldn’t help but feel the subtle pull of the path laid out before them.
They moved deeper into the dungeon, the eerie silence broken only by the faint swish of water.
At least now they weren’t wandering aimlessly.
The kelp, for all its unnatural blinking, was doing a decent job of pointing them in the right direction-or at least what they hoped was the right direction.
“This is better, I guess,” Bella muttered, her voice echoing softly in the watery expanse.
She kept her hands near her elemental conduits, ready for anything.
“But I can’t shake the feeling that it’s too easy.” “Too easy?” Larissa scoffed, her eyes scanning the shadows for threats.
“We’ve been walking for what feels like forever, and all we’ve found are weird fish and bras.
Not exactly the gold mine of loot and danger we signed up for.” The terrain around them shifted as they progressed.
The path wasn’t straightforward; it dipped and rose in strange, uneven ways, mimicking the natural undulations of the ocean floor.
One moment, they’d be trudging across flat sand, and the next, they’d be climbing over rocky ridges covered in bioluminescent coral.
It wasn’t the usual dungeon layout they were used to-no neatly divided floors, no clear progression from level one to level two.
Instead, it felt like a patchwork of beautiful and creepy, as though someone had stitched together snapshots of the ocean’s best and worst moments.
“This dungeon doesn’t play by the rules,” Jane said, her tone thoughtful as she peered at a school of fish that darted away at their approach.
“No floor numbers, no clear theme.
Just…
vibes.” “Vibes?” Shea asked, her wings twitching.
“Is that what we’re calling it now?” “Got a better word for it?” Jane shot back, raising an eyebrow.
Shea didn’t answer, and they kept moving.
It wasn’t long before they ran into another group of monsters lurking in the kelp forest.
Like before, the creatures were bizarre-twisted versions of sea life that seemed more like failed experiments than natural beings.
They made short work of the monsters.
After their earlier fights, the group had adapted to the dungeon’s rhythm, taking down their enemies with efficiency.
Bella’s Thunderbolt scorched the battlefield, while Zoe’s Depths’ Grasp dragged enemies into crushing currents.
Larissa danced through the chaos, her Blood Manipulation twisting pools of crimson into deadly spears.

But as the last monster fell, the group gathered around its dissipating form, searching for any sign of a quest-related drop.
They found nothing.
Just more generic loot-coins, bits of glowing kelp, and a few random trinkets that didn’t seem useful.
“Still nothing,” Alice said, her tone flat as she pocketed the coins.
“These things aren’t connected to the quest at all.” “Patience,” Allen said, though even he sounded frustrated.
“We’re getting closer.
Look.” He pointed ahead, and the group turned to see that the faint silhouette from earlier had become clearer.
At first, they’d thought it was a castle, its spires piercing through the darkness.
But as they drew closer, they realized it wasn’t quite what they’d expected.
It wasn’t a grand underwater palace, pristine and shining.
It was a ruin.
The structure was massive, its skeletal frame rising out of the sand like a ghost of its former self.
Coral and seaweed clung to its cracked walls, and pieces of the exterior had crumbled, leaving jagged edges and gaping holes.
Yet despite its ruined state, the place still held an air of majesty.
The towers, though worn and broken, reached high into the water above, their jagged edges silhouetted against the faint bioluminescent glow of the ocean’s depths.
Crumbled walls and shattered columns hinted at a place that once held great power but now lay forgotten and desolate.
They approached the entrance.
Allen paused to take in the sight.
“Hopefully this place has more beautiful mermaids,” he said, half-joking, his tone light enough to break the tension.
Shea and Vivian sidled up to him.
Shea leaned closer.
“Aren’t we pretty, hm?” she asked, her voice teasingly sweet.
Vivian mirrored her, resting her arm on Allen’s shoulder with a sly grin.
“Your Majesty,” she purred.
“Do you need us to act like mermaids too?
We could make it happen.” From behind them, Jane’s dry voice cut through the moment.
“Should we go all out?
Use that last enchanted lip balm?
Maybe wear on some overgrown eyelashes for authenticity?” Allen laughed, shaking his head as he stepped forward, breaking free of their playful antics.
“I’m just kidding.
Relax.
Let’s just get ready-the queen should be inside.
Stay sharp.” The group moved into the ruins, their footsteps-or rather, the faint swishes and movements of their gear-echoing eerily through the open, underwater halls.
Though the place was mostly open to the surrounding sea, it didn’t feel empty.
The water seemed heavier here, thick with an unseen energy that made every motion feel slower, every breath a little more strained.
The moment they crossed the threshold, the ruins came alive.
From the walls, the floor, even the ceilings, long, sinuous huge tentacles shot out without warning.
They writhed and lashed with startling speed, attempting to grab, tie, and drag the intruders.
The first one darted straight for Shea, but she reacted instantly, her blade-like feathers slicing through it with a sharp, clean motion.
“Ugh,” Shea muttered, flicking a severed piece of tentacle away.
“What is this, a Zoe-themed dungeon?” Zoe’s reaction was instant.
Her grin spread wide, her sharp teeth glinting faintly.
“Oh, absolutely.
This has to be related to my backstory.
Look at these beauties!” She gestured to the tentacles with an almost reverent admiration, her own tentacles curling in delight.
“They’re trying so hard.
I’m flattered.” “Flattered?” Larissa said, dodging another tentacle as she drew a crimson blade made from her own blood.
“Only you would find this flattering.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
