Chapter 1224: Anonymous Note Chapter 1224: Anonymous Note Villain Ch 1224.
Anonymous Note The group nodded, filing one by one into the glowing portal that returned them to the Cursed Crypts.
They began to say their goodbyes.
“See you tomorrow,” Shea said with a quick wave.
“Don’t forget to check your inventory,” Bella added, smirking.
Jane paused briefly, looking over her shoulder.
“And Allen?
Try not to vanish like that again, or I’ll find a spell to make sure you don’t.” She gave a mock glare, softened by the smile tugging at her lips.
Larissa smirked.
“She’s not kidding, by the way.
Goodnight.” Allen gave each of them a small wave, his usual calm demeanor intact, but his gaze lingered on Zoe.
She stood apart from the group, her arms crossed casually, her disguise long gone.
Her tentacles swayed lightly.
“Goodnight, Devil Emperor,” Zoe said with a sharp grin that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
She turned to leave, but Allen’s voice stopped her.
“Zoe,” he said, his tone softer than usual.
She paused but didn’t turn fully toward him.
“Yeah?” Allen studied her carefully, his instincts kicking in.
Something was still off.
She was brushing everything off too casually, her playful demeanor feeling just a touch too forced.
“You okay?” “Of course,” Zoe said with a shrug, her grin widening.
“Why wouldn’t I be?
We crushed that dungeon, won some duels, and scared off half the market.
It’s been a good day.” Allen didn’t push further-at least not now.
“Alright.
Sleep well.” Zoe gave him a quick wave over her shoulder and disappeared.
Allen logged off shortly after, pulling the sleek VR device from his head.
He leaned back in his chair, letting out a long breath as the real world came back into focus.
He glanced at the time-it was almost dinner.
He rubbed his temples, his thoughts swirling, mostly about the girls.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
‘I’ve been so busy lately… Have I been neglecting them?’ The question gnawed at him.
The girls were always around, always supportive, but today had reminded him that their emotions weren’t as bulletproof as they often seemed.
Zoe’s lingering frustration over the dungeon and her sharpness during the duel replayed in his mind.
‘Maybe I’m not giving them the attention they deserve.’ The thought made his chest tighten slightly.
They’d been with him long before his real identity as the Goldborne family’s young master came to light.
They’d chosen him for who he was, not for the wealth, the name, or the power.
And yet… outsiders wouldn’t see it that way.
He huffed, leaning forward to rest his elbows on the desk.
The image of gossip headlines flashed through his mind.
“The Goldborne Family’s New Playboy Master-Building a Harem with Daddy’s Money.” The idea made him laugh bitterly.
‘If they only knew.’ The truth was so much simpler and yet so much harder to explain.
The girls had come into his life naturally, long before they knew he was anything more than a regular player in the VR world.
But the idea of the narrative being twisted to make him look like some shallow harem-seeker made his stomach churn.
And then there was the irony that he was a harem writer.
That thought made him laugh for real this time.
‘Imagine if they knew that too… It’d go from ‘playboy’ to ‘fantasy-obsessed creep’ in two seconds flat.’ He shook his head, trying to dispel the intrusive thoughts.
Standing up, he stretched and decided to head to the bathroom.
A hot shower would clear his mind.
As he undressed and stepped in, the warm water eased the tension in his muscles, but it didn’t wash away the lingering image of Zoe’s face.
‘Should I call her or something?’ The thought lingered.
Zoe was tough-probably the toughest of the group-but she’d looked genuinely shaken earlier, even if she’d tried to hide it.
He decided he’d check in with her later, after dinner.
It might be cliché, but he wanted to make sure she was okay.
When he finished, he dressed in something casual and headed downstairs to the dining room.
The mansion was quieter than usual-Emma and Jordan weren’t back yet, leaving the expansive room feeling a little too empty.
Allen settled into one of the plush chairs at the long table, pulling out his phone to kill time while he waited.
He opened a browser tab, automatically navigating to the gaming forums he frequented.
A thread about recent gossip caught his eye, and he clicked on it.
The posts were exactly what he expected-mostly harmless speculation about top players, upcoming updates, and event rumors.
But then he saw a section dedicated to him and the guild leaders.
Thread: Chased by the Masses!
Al And The Guild Leaders.
Somehow, though, as Allen looked through it, the conversation seemed way more focused on him than anyone else.
AssasinGirl231: Did anyone else see him in Ront’s market today?
Looked like he was trying to keep a low profile, but man, the guy can’t catch a break.
 <Reply> StrongestPaladin: Low profile?
He had a swarm of girls with him.
How’s that low profile?
*Crying emoji* Master_Manipulator: I heard the duel was insane.
Did anyone record it?
<Reply> DonDonDon: It was just a catfight!
Why bother?
<Reply> Master_Manipulator: I need it for my delulu mind.
I would be happy if I were Al, fought over by girls and even dueled for me.
<Reply> DonDonDon: @Master_Manipulator Ew… Get a life, dude.
CreepsMaker: Honestly, if I were him, I’d just stop going to public areas.
The dude’s a walking magnet for chaos and girls… At least he should spare some for us!
*Crying emoji* Allen huffed out a laugh, shaking his head as he scrolled.
‘At least they’re not wrong.’ He tapped through a few more posts, his attention waning until he spotted a private message notification.
Clicking on it, he saw a short, anonymous note.
From: Unknown “They’re not happy, you know.
You should pay more attention!” He frowned, his thumb hovering over the screen.
The message was vague-too vague-but it struck a nerve.
‘They’re not happy…’ He didn’t need to be told.
He already felt it.
‘But who should I pay attention to?
You?’ CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
