Chapter 1232: Playing Victim Chapter 1232: Playing Victim Villain Ch 1232.
Playing Victim Her friend blinked, surprised at her sudden determination.
“Wait, seriously?
You’re going to talk to them?” “Of course,” Sophia said, forcing a confident smile.
“Why wouldn’t I?” Her friend hesitated, then shrugged.
“Your call.
I’ll stay back, though.
I’m not getting in the middle of whatever this is.” Sophia rolled her eyes but didn’t respond.
Instead, she squared her shoulders, took a deep breath, and started walking toward the group.
Her eyes immediately fixed on Allen, who was engaged in a quiet conversation with Elio.
That calm, confident expression on his face-it grated on her.
‘What’s he even saying to Elio?’ she wondered, her annoyance bubbling under the surface.
She approached with her best neutral smile, her steps steady and deliberate.
‘Relax,’ she reminded herself.
‘Act normal.
Act like this is no big deal,’ she reminded herself once more.
“Hey there,” Sophia greeted, her voice light and casual as she stopped a few feet away from the group.
Her eyes flicked briefly to each of them before settling on Allen.
“Fancy running into you guys here.” The conversation halted, and all eyes turned toward her.
Gilbert was the first to react, his sharp grin widening.
“Sophia,” he said, his tone overly friendly.
“What a surprise.” Allen’s gaze shifted to her, his expression unreadable.
“Not a surprise for me,” he said in a low sarcastic tone.
Elio leaned back slightly, his smirk barely visible but unmistakable.
“Didn’t think we’d be seeing you today.” Sophia kept her smile intact, though her grip tightened on the water bottle she was holding.
“Well, it is a gym.
People tend to run into each other.” Tommy, one of the two strangers in suits, glanced at her with mild curiosity.
“And you are…?” He pretended.
“Sophia,” she introduced herself, extending a hand toward him.
“I’m a friend of Allen’s.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
And Gilbert’s.
And Elio’s.” Her tone was smooth, almost rehearsed.
Tommy shook her hand, his grip firm but polite.
“Tommy,” he said with a nod.
“Or Red_King, if that rings any bells.” A smirk on his face.
Sophia’s smile faltered slightly.
Her eyes flicked to the other man, who stepped forward with a calm confidence that practically oozed wealth.
“Theodore,” he said, taking her hand briefly.
“Or Mastercraft.
A pleasure.” Sophia’s lips twitched into a polite smile, though her thoughts raced.
‘Mastercraft.
Of course.’ She knew that name all too well-a notorious pay-to-win player whose reputation for flaunting his wealth in Hell’s Gate forums was as legendary as his in-game crafting skills.
Seeing him here, standing in the same gym lobby with that same smug confidence, was almost too much to process.
Sophia’s stomach churned, though she didn’t let it show.
Her mind screamed questions.
‘What are they doing here?
Why are they with Allen?’ But she forced herself to stay composed, her smile unwavering.
“So,” Sophia began, her voice light, almost teasing.
“What brings all of you here?
Some kind of… group workout?” Tommy chuckled, his arms crossing as he leaned casually against the wall.
“Not exactly.
We’re just here to catch up with Allen.” “Catch up?” Sophia repeated, her smile tightening.
She glanced at Allen, who stood silently, his gaze steady but unreadable.
“I didn’t realize you all knew each other so well.” “Yeah,” Gilbert said with a grin, though the mischievous glint in his eyes suggested he was enjoying her discomfort.
“I just knew he is a fun guy.
No drama…” Sophia shifted her attention back to Theodore and Tommy, her thoughts racing.
‘I see… they came for me.’ It was becoming clear that this wasn’t just a coincidence.
Their presence felt too calculated, too deliberate, to be random.
She forced a smile, her expression softening into something she hoped looked disarming.
“No drama, of course.
Who likes drama, right?” Before anyone could respond, Elio’s calm voice cut through the air.
“I thought you liked to create drama, Sophia.” The words hit harder than she wanted to admit.
For a split second, her composure faltered, but she quickly recovered.
“I don’t like it,” she said evenly, though her tone carried an edge.
“There’s no smoke without fire, right?” Tommy and Theodore exchanged a look, their expressions amused but unreadable.
“Well,” Tommy said with a shrug, “we like watching drama.
It’s entertaining.” “But being involved in it?” Theodore added, shaking his head.
“That’s a different story.” Sophia’s mind spun, searching for a way to regain control of the conversation.
She decided to lean into her old strategy-the one that had worked countless times before.
With a deep breath, she softened her expression further, letting a touch of vulnerability creep into her voice.
“So, you guys came here to bully me?
To make me feel bad?” Her tone shifted, tinged with a mixture of hurt and defiance.
“A bunch of men coming here just to gang up on a weak girl like me?
That’s… kind of pathetic, don’t you think?” She crossed her arms, tilting her head slightly as if daring them to deny it.
Elio’s smirk widened, his gaze never leaving hers.
“Aren’t you thinking too highly of yourself?” he asked, his voice calm but firm.
“Besides, we already said we came to see Allen, not you.
It was you who suddenly walked over to us.” Sophia bristled, her fingers tightening around her water bottle.
“I didn’t walk over to you.
I just… happened to be here.” “Uh-huh,” Gilbert said, his grin sharp as ever.
“Weird, you weren’t ‘here’ before.
Your class is over there, and the locker room is over there,” he added, gesturing toward the respective areas.
“We aren’t sitting down between them nor blocking your path.
Yet you decided to approach us.” Sophia stiffened slightly but didn’t let the irritation show on her face.
Instead, she met Gilbert’s grin with one of her own-cool, composed, and just a little condescending.
“Maybe I was just curious,” she said, her tone light.
“You guys looked… out of place.
A couple of suits in a gym?
Not exactly a common sight.” Gilbert chuckled.
“Curious, huh?
Sounds like a stretch.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
