Chapter 1239: Don’t Overanalyze Me!
Villain Ch 1239.
Don’t Overanalyze Me!
“Oh.” Mila’s expression faltered briefly before she recovered, forcing a smile.
“That’s nice.
Is it for work or…?” “A date,” Allen said simply, his tone as casual as if he’d mentioned the weather.
He didn’t elaborate, didn’t look uncomfortable-just a simple, honest statement.
Direct, no sugarcoating.
It was part of what Mila admired about him… and what made him so frustrating sometimes.
The barista called her name, and she practically leapt out of her seat, muttering a quick “Excuse me” before heading to the counter.
Her heart was racing, a mix of nerves and excitement buzzing under her skin.
‘Alright, Mila.
Deep breath.
Don’t overthink this.’ She picked up her drink and turned back toward the table, trying to look calm.
Allen was still there, leaning back in his chair, his gaze drifting out the window like he wasn’t in any particular rush.
For a second, she hesitated.
Should she sit back down?
Was she overstaying her welcome?
But then he glanced her way, offering a small nod, and that was enough to nudge her forward.
‘Just be yourself.
He agreed to let you sit.
That’s a good sign, right?’ Mila slid back into her seat, clutching her matcha latte like a lifeline.
She sipped it slowly, letting the sweet, earthy flavor calm her.
The silence stretched out, awkward but not unbearable.
She knew about Allen’s multiple relationships-who didn’t?
It wasn’t exactly a secret.
Still, hearing him mention a date so openly caught her off guard.
She sat quietly, mulling over her thoughts, when Allen finally spoke, breaking the silence.
“So, how’s everything going?” he asked, his tone casual.

“Life and all that?
Maybe your modeling career?” The question caught her off guard, and she blinked at him for a moment before answering.
“Oh, um, it’s going alright.
Busy, as usual, but I’m managing.
And modeling…” She hesitated, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“I got a couple of offers for some campaigns recently.” “That’s good,” Allen said, nodding.
“You were worried about that slowing down, right?” “Yeah,” Mila admitted, surprised he remembered.
“It’s competitive, you know?
One week you’re in demand, and the next, you’re old news.
But I’m trying not to stress too much about it.
Just taking things as they come.” “Smart,” Allen replied, sipping his coffee.
“No point in burning out over something you can’t control.
You’ve been doing this for a while now, haven’t you?” “Yeah, a couple of years,” Mila said, her voice gaining confidence as she talked about something familiar.
“It started as a side gig, you know?
Just some extra cash while studying.
But it’s been growing.
I even got invited to a casting call for a national campaign next month.” “Sounds like a big deal,” Allen said, raising an eyebrow.
“You nervous?” “A little,” Mila admitted with a small laugh.
“But it’s exciting too.
I mean, who wouldn’t want their face on billboards, right?” Allen smirked.
“As long as it doesn’t go to your head.” “Hey!” Mila shot back, her smile turning playful.
“I’m not that kind of model.” Allen chuckled, the tension between them easing slightly.
He took a sip of his coffee, leaning back in his chair again.
“So, you’re juggling school, modeling, and Hell’s Gate.
That’s a lot on your plate.” “It is,” Mila said with a nod.
“But Hell’s Gate is my escape, you know?
A way to blow off steam after a long day.” “Same,” Allen said, his tone a bit softer.
“Though it’s become more than that lately.” Mila tilted her head, curiosity sparking in her eyes.
“More?
Like what?” “Just, you know, the social aspect,” he said finally.
“It’s not just a game anymore.
It’s… connections.” Mila nodded slowly, her gaze flickering to her latte.
“Yeah, I get that.
It’s where I met a lot of new friends.
And… well, you.” Allen raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching into a small smirk.
“Me, huh?
You make me sound like a big deal.” Mila’s cheeks flushed, and she waved a hand dismissively.
“You’re kind of a big deal in-game.
It’s hard not to notice you.” “Is that so?” Allen teased, his voice light but his eyes sharp.
He wasn’t trying to make her uncomfortable, but he couldn’t resist poking a little fun.
“It’s not like that!” Mila protested, her face growing redder.
“I mean, you’re… you’re cool, okay?
And nice.
And-ugh, forget I said anything.” Allen laughed, a low, genuine sound that made Mila’s heart skip.
“Relax, Mila.
I’m just messing with you.” She let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding, laughing nervously.
“You’re terrible, you know that?” “So I’ve been told,” Allen said, still smirking.
“But thanks.
I think.” Mila shook her head, taking another sip of her latte to hide her smile.
The conversation felt easier now, the earlier awkwardness fading into something more natural.
But beneath the surface, her mind raced.
‘He’s giving me a chance to talk, to be here.
Does that mean… anything?’ Allen, meanwhile, studied her quietly.
Mila wasn’t flashy or overly polished like some people he knew.
There was something refreshingly genuine about her-the kind of authenticity that didn’t need bells and whistles to stand out.
But he could see it in her eyes, the way they darted between him and her cup.
She was overthinking this.
Hard.
“Don’t overanalyze me,” Allen said, his voice cutting through the buzz of the coffee shop.
Mila blinked, startled.
“Huh?” “You’re overanalyzing this,” Allen repeated, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms.
His tone wasn’t harsh, but it was direct.
“Just think of this as a casual chat between friends.
Don’t overthink anything.” Mila’s cheeks flushed, her grip tightening on her cup.
“I’m not overthinking,” she said quickly, though the pink in her face betrayed her words.
“I mean, maybe I am a little, but-” “You are,” Allen said, cutting her off with a smirk.
“And it’s fine.
Just… relax.” Mila exhaled sharply, her shoulders slumping.
“I guess I am overthinking,” she admitted, laughing nervously.
“It’s just… I don’t know.
I wasn’t expecting to see you here, and then you invited me to sit, and-ugh.” She buried her face in her hands for a moment before peeking at him through her fingers.
