Chapter 1241: Did He Forget?
Chapter 1241: Did He Forget?
Villain Ch 1241.
Did He Forget?
The sharp ring of the university bell jolted Zoe from her thoughts, pulling her attention back to the front of the class.
The professor, already halfway through erasing the board, turned back to the students with a practiced smile.
“That’s all for today.
We’ll pick up from here next week.
Have a good day.” Zoe sighed, closing her laptop and sliding it into her bag.
The lecture had been a blur-she’d been physically present but mentally somewhere else entirely.
Specifically, somewhere involving Allen and the promise of a “surprise” he’d mentioned yesterday.
She hadn’t heard a word from him since, and the silence was driving her crazy.
Her friend Dena, who’d been sitting beside her the whole time, let out an exaggerated groan as she gathered her own things.
“Ugh, that was boring.
Are you doing anything fun after this?” Zoe blinked, snapping out of her daze.
“Huh?
I… I don’t know.” “You don’t know?” Dena repeated, her tone incredulous.
“You’ve been zoning out all classes.
What’s up with you?” “Nothing,” Zoe said quickly, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
But her thoughts betrayed her words.
‘Did he forget?’ she wondered, her stomach twisting slightly.
‘Allen doesn’t usually forget things like this… Does he?’ Dena raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.
“You’ve been acting weird.
Like, extra weird.
What’s going on?” “Seriously, it’s nothing,” Zoe insisted, forcing a smile as they stepped out of the classroom together.
The hallway was alive with chatter and the shuffle of students heading off to their next destinations.
Dena wasn’t buying it but didn’t push further.
Instead, she tried a different approach.
“Are you going to play games again after this?” “Probably,” Zoe said.
“After I finish my homework.” “Lame,” Dena teased, nudging her.

“So, I guess you’re free for now?
Come with me to the bookstore.
I want to grab something.” Zoe raised an eyebrow.
“What for?” “They just released a new magazine issue,” Dena said, her tone casual but her excitement clear.
“A magazine?” Zoe repeated, clearly uninterested but going along with the conversation.
“What kind?” “Fashion,” Dena replied, her eyes lighting up.
That made Zoe pause.
She turned to her friend with a frown.
“Since when are you into fashion magazines?” Dena shrugged, a sheepish grin spreading across her face.
“Since one of the covers caught my attention.
There’s this guy-he’s on the cover.
I’ve been trying to find out more about him, but there’s barely any information.
He doesn’t seem to be with any agencies.
That magazine’s the only place I’ve seen him.” “Sounds mysterious,” Zoe said, her tone neutral as her mind wandered back to Allen.
‘Why hasn’t he messaged me?’ “Totally mysterious,” Dena said, nodding eagerly.
“So, will you come with me?
The bookstore’s in the lobby.” “Yeah, sure,” Zoe said, shaking off her distraction.
“I’ll go with you.” The walk to the bookstore was filled with Dena’s chatter about the mystery model.
Zoe listened absentmindedly, nodding or throwing in the occasional “huh” or “really?” to keep the conversation flowing.
Her mind, however, was somewhere else entirely, looping back to Allen and his promised “surprise.” It wasn’t like him to be vague, and the radio silence had her spinning scenarios in her head-most of them ridiculous.
‘Did he forget?’ she thought.
When they arrived at the bookstore, Dena’s energy kicked up a notch.
“There it is!” she said, practically darting toward the magazine rack.
Zoe followed at a slower pace, her gaze wandering over the shelves without really seeing anything.
Dena pulled a glossy magazine from the stand, flipping through it with the kind of intensity reserved for treasure hunting.
But after a moment, she let out an exaggerated groan.
“Oh, come on!” Zoe raised an eyebrow.
“What’s wrong?” It was Urban Enigma magazine.
“He’s not in this issue!” Dena huffed, waving the magazine in the air before slamming it back onto the rack.
“They used his picture for the promo online, but he’s not even here.
What a scam.” Zoe tried to muster some sympathy but could only manage a vague shrug.
“That sucks.” Dena glared at her, clearly unimpressed by the lack of enthusiasm.
“You’re the worst cheerleader.” Before Zoe could reply, her phone buzzed in her pocket.
She pulled it out, her heart skipping when she saw the name on the screen.
Allen!
She swiped to answer, her voice instinctively softening.
“Hello?” “Where are you?” Allen’s voice came through, calm but with a hint of amusement.
“I’m at my uni,” Zoe replied, frowning slightly.
“Class just finished.
Why?” “I’m at the main gate,” he said, as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
“Waiting for you.” Zoe froze, her grip tightening on her phone.
“You’re… what?” “Main gate,” Allen repeated, the smirk in his voice audible even through the call.
“You know, the big one with the fancy lettering?
Ring any bells?” “Yeah, I know where it is,” Zoe said quickly, her mind racing.
“Why are you there?” “I told you I had a surprise,” he said simply.
“Hurry up before I change my mind.” “Wait, are you serious right now?” Zoe asked, glancing around like someone might jump out and yell “gotcha.” But Allen wasn’t the type to prank her like that-not in a mean way, at least.
“Dead serious,” Allen said.
“You coming, or do I have to start shouting your name like a lunatic?” “Don’t you dare!” Zoe hissed, already grabbing her bag.
“I’m coming.
Just… stay put.” “Hurry up,” he said again, then hung up before she could say anything else.
Zoe stared at her phone for a second, her heart pounding.
“Uh, Dena…” Dena looked up from the magazine rack, frowning.
“What?
You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” “I gotta go,” Zoe said, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
“My boyfriend is here.
He’s-he’s waiting for me at the gate.” Dena’s eyes widened, and then a sly grin spread across her face.
“Ooooh, a surprise visit?
What’s the occasion?” “I don’t know,” Zoe admitted.
