Chapter 1252: Revenge Kick Chapter 1252: Revenge Kick Villain Ch 1252.
Revenge Kick Sophia ignored the jab, her smile never wavering.
“I just thought I’d say hello.” She gestured to her guildmates with a flourish.
“And as you can see, The Arcane Wardens appreciate my talents more than certain…
other guilds.” Elio’s jaw tightened, but his voice remained calm.
“I’m glad you’ve found a place where you feel valued.” “Oh, I do,” Sophia purred, her eyes gleaming with triumph.
“And with Liam and Darren by my side, I’m sure we’ll make an excellent showing tonight.” Behind her, Liam and Darren exchanged glances, their avatars shifting awkwardly.
It didn’t take a genius to see they weren’t thrilled about being dragged along for Sophia’s ego trip.
Sophia’s grin widened as she leaned closer to Elio, lowering her voice just enough to sound conspiratorial.
“By the way, you’ll want to watch out during the event.
I’ve got some surprises planned.
Let’s just say, I don’t need you to make an impact.” Gil rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, big talk coming from someone who’s been running around for days trying to win her ex back for the wedding event quests-only to end up ‘marrying’ this guy.” He jabbed his thumb toward INeedAHotGF, who puffed up his chest like he’d just scored the ultimate prize.
“Jealousy doesn’t suit you, Gil,” Sophia said with a smirk, her fingers tightening around her so-called husband’s hand.
“I’ve moved on.
Maybe you should too.” Elio stepped in before the exchange could escalate further.
“Sophia,” he said evenly, his voice firm but not unkind, “we’re all here for the same reason.
Let’s focus on the event and leave the past where it belongs.” Sophia’s eyes narrowed slightly, but she quickly masked it with another smile.
“Of course, High Paladin.
Always the voice of reason.” With a final, lingering glance, she turned on her heel, her entourage following in her wake.
As they disappeared into the crowd, Gil let out a low whistle.
“Well, that was fun,” he muttered.
“She’s got a bigger chip on her shoulder than I thought.” “She’s trying to prove something,” Elio replied, his gaze distant.
“To herself, to us-it doesn’t matter.
We focus on the event.” Gil raised an eyebrow.
“You think she’s actually got a shot at outscoring us?” Elio didn’t answer immediately.
His thoughts flickered back to that strange feeling earlier, the sense of being watched.
He shook his head slightly.
“No,” he said finally.
“We stick to the plan.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Let her do what she wants.” Shortly, James and Noah finally logged in.
Their names popped up in the chat log for Order of Valiance, and within seconds, they were making their way toward Elio and Gil.
“You’re late,” Elio said bluntly as they approached.
His expression was calm, but there was a slight edge to his voice.
James held up his hands in mock surrender.
“Sorry, boss.
Family stuff.
Had to deal with some real-world business.” Gil snorted.
“This event is real money, too, you know.” James grinned, unfazed.
“Yeah, but this business was much bigger money.” “Figures,” Gil muttered, crossing his arms.
“Always chasing the next big payday.” Noah glanced around the square, taking in the chaos.
“Looks like we missed the pre-show,” he said.
His tone was neutral, but his sharp eyes didn’t miss much.
“What’s the plan?” Before Elio could respond, James nudged Noah with his elbow and nodded toward a group near the fountain.
“Wait a second.
Is that… Sophia?” Elio’s jaw tightened, but he nodded.
“Yeah.
She’s with the Arcane Wardens now.” James raised an eyebrow, his grin fading.
“Wow.
So she wasn’t bluffing about finding a new guild.” “Apparently not,” Gil said, his tone laced with sarcasm.
“And she’s making sure everyone knows it.” Noah frowned slightly, his gaze lingering on Sophia and her entourage.
“She looks… different.
More confident.” Gil rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, she’s got the deputy title now.
She’s probably on some revenge kick, trying to prove she doesn’t need us.” James chuckled.
“Classic Sophia.
Always has to make a statement.
You think she’s got what it takes to actually compete?” Elio’s expression remained neutral, but his voice carried a finality.
“It doesn’t matter.
We focus on the event.
Let her do what she wants.” Gil smirked.
“Translation: If she gets in our way, we’re wiping the floor with her.” Noah’s lips twitched into a faint smile, but he didn’t comment.
Instead, he turned his attention back to the rest of the guild.
“So, what’s the strategy, Elio?
You’ve got that look like you’re already ten steps ahead.” Elio nodded, his calm demeanor settling over the group like a steadying hand.
“We stick to the plan.
Tanks hold the line, DPS focuses on the big targets, and healers keep everyone alive.
But remember, participation matters for the score.
That means helping NPCs, repairing buildings, setting traps-everything counts.” James nodded.
“Got it.
And what about the Devil Emperor?
Think he’ll show up late or make an ambush like the first one?” A flicker of unease crossed Elio’s face, but it was gone as quickly as it came.
“No one knows.
But we will deal with him like any other threat.” Gil snorted.
“Yeah, easier said than done.
That guy’s a nightmare to fight.
But hey, if anyone can handle him, it’s us.” Unbeknownst to them, Allen was still perched above, having watched the entire exchange with mild amusement.
His smirk returned as he stood.
‘This is going to be more entertaining than I thought.’ With a flick of his wrist, he summoned the portal.
Allen turned back for one last glance at the chaos below.
“Good luck down there,” Allen muttered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“You’re going to need it.” With that, he stepped into the portal.
The world shifted around him, a rush of cold air and shadow enveloping him as he was pulled through the rift.
When he emerged, the oppressive atmosphere of the Cursed Crypts greeted him like an old friend.
The air here was thick, damp, and carried a faint metallic tang that hinted at bloodshed.
“Home sweet home,” Allen murmured, his boots echoing against the stone floor as he stepped into the crypt.
He canceled his disguise and returned to his Devil Emperor avatar.
