Chapter 1256: Glorified Fishing Trip Chapter 1256: Glorified Fishing Trip Villain Ch 1256.
Glorified Fishing Trip But with every hit, more Mermen emerged from the ground, their hands clutching pans.
Their movements were faster now, more coordinated, and it became clear that the Anglerqueen wasn’t just a boss-she was a commander.
“We’re getting overwhelmed here!” James shouted as he loosed another Arrow Strike, taking down one Merman only to have two more appear in its place.
“Tell me about it!” Noah replied, firing an Arrow Shower that rained down on a cluster of Mermen, thinning their ranks momentarily.
“If this keeps up, we’ll-” Before he could finish, the Anglerqueen let out a deafening screech.
Her tendrils slammed into the ground again, creating a massive shockwave that threw both hunters off their feet.
“Hang on!” Alex’s voice rang out from the walls.
His staff blazed with light as he activated Mass Healing, a wave of golden energy washing over James and Noah, restoring their health bars.
“Nice save!” Noah called, scrambling to his feet.
“We owe you one, Alex!” “Just focus on her,” Alex replied, his tone more commanding than usual.
“I’ll handle the rest.” James exchanged a quick look with Noah, then nodded.
“Alright, time to finish this.” The hunters activated their ultimates simultaneously.
James drew a glowing arrow crackling with energy, activating Piercing Barrage.
He released the arrow, and it exploded mid-air, sending shards of energy streaking toward the Anglerqueen and her surrounding minions.
Noah followed with Arrow Shower, the sky darkening momentarily as hundreds of arrows rained down on the battlefield.
The combined assault tore through the Mermen and slammed into the Anglerqueen, her health bar plummeting.
“She’s almost down!” James shouted, firing another Arrow Strike.
But the Anglerqueen wasn’t done yet.
With a final, desperate screech, she launched herself forward, her glowing tendrils whipping violently.
One struck James, sending him sprawling, while another nearly impaled Noah, who dodged just in time.
Alex activated Agility, enhancing the hunters’ speed and reflexes.
James rolled to his feet, his grin returning.
“Alright, fish queen, let’s end this.” The two hunters loosed their arrows simultaneously, the glowing projectiles streaking through the air and finding their mark.
The Anglerqueen let out one final, agonized screech before collapsing in a heap, her glowing tendrils dimming as her health bar hit zero.
[The Anglerqueen has been defeated.] Breathing heavily, James and Noah stood amidst the carnage, their bows still drawn.
Around them, the remaining Mermen dissolved into nothingness, their existence tied to their queen.
“Not bad,” James said, clapping Noah on the shoulder.
“For a glorified fishing trip.” Noah laughed, shaking his head.
“Let’s hope the next wave isn’t worse.” Up on the walls, Alex let out a relieved sigh, leaning against his staff as the glow around him dimmed.

“Well done,” he murmured, a small smile breaking through his usually shy demeanor.
But in the distance, a deep, guttural roar echoed across the battlefield, louder and more menacing than anything they’d heard before.
The ground trembled, and the shadows in the distance shifted ominously.
“Round two,” James muttered, nocking another arrow.
“Here we go again.” On the walls of Debaris, the mages and hunters were going all out, their attacks lighting up the darkening sky with an endless barrage of spells and projectiles.
Fireballs streaked through the air, exploding in the midst of the monstrous tide.
Lightning bolts crackled, slicing through clusters of creatures, while arrows rained down in deadly showers, pinning the monsters to the ground.
“Keep firing!” shouted one of the mages, his voice barely audible over the roaring chaos.
His hands glowed with fiery energy as he launched another Meteor Shower, the ground trembling with each impact.
“Don’t let them get closer!” “Easy for you to say!” yelled a hunter, his face pale as he nocked another arrow.
“There’s too many of them!” A cheer erupted as a particularly large beast collapsed under a well-placed shot, but the celebration was short-lived.
For every monster that fell, two more seemed to take its place, clawing and snarling as they pushed relentlessly toward the gates.
The horde was massive and diverse-everything from low-level ghouls and goblins to elite nightmare wolves and bone-plated trolls.
It was an unending wave of terror, and despite the players’ best efforts, it was getting closer.
Up on the walls, Elio gripped the hilt of his sword as he surveyed the chaos below.
His heart pounded in his chest, but he didn’t let it show.
Beside him, Gil was pacing like a caged animal, his daggers flashing as he twirled them nervously.
“They’re closing in,” Gil muttered, his sharp eyes scanning the battlefield.
“Where the hell are they?” Elio’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t respond.
He didn’t need to.
Everyone knew who Gil was talking about-the Devil Emperor and his infamous subordinates.
The villains hadn’t shown themselves after the emperor’s first attack, and their absence was more terrifying than their presence ever could be.
“What are they waiting for?” a knight behind them asked, his voice shaky.
“Why haven’t they attacked yet?” Elio glanced back at his fellow melee players-warriors, knights, assassins, and rogues, all mounted and ready for the inevitable charge.
Their faces were grim.
“They’re watching,” Elio said finally, his voice low but steady.
“Waiting for the right moment.” Gil scoffed, though the tension in his voice betrayed his own unease.
“Typical Emperor.
Likes to toy with us first.” “Elio’s right,” Arcana added from his position nearby.
“This is a psychological game for him.
He’s not just fighting us-he’s making us fight ourselves.” The melee players exchanged uneasy glances, their hands tightening on their reins.
The thought of an invisible enemy, one that could strike at any moment, was almost worse than facing the horde head-on.
The mages redoubled their efforts, their spells growing increasingly desperate.
“Arcane Barrage incoming!” one shouted, his voice cracking as he unleashed a volley of glowing fire missiles that spiraled into the horde.
“They’re too strong!” a priestess shouted.
“We can’t hold them off forever!” And still, the villains didn’t appear.
“Elio, this is bad,” Gil said, his tone more serious now.
“We’re gonna be neck-deep in this horde.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
