Chapter 1269: Let’s See If You Last Half That Chapter 1269: Let’s See If You Last Half That Villain Ch 1269.
Let’s See If You Last Half That [Event time remaining: 21:02] The Devil Emperor stepped through the collapsed walls of Debaris, his armor gleaming faintly as the light of burning buildings reflected off its surface.
He walked leisurely, his pace unhurried, as if he were simply strolling through a park on a calm afternoon.
The ground cracked beneath his boots, his aura spreading like a suffocating fog over the battlefield.
A melodic hum came out of his mouth.
Around him, the monsters and boss monsters that had broken the gates followed, their massive forms trampling what little remained of the city’s defenses.
Above him, the seven demonesses soared through the air, their laughter echoing mockingly over the desperate cries of the players.
Bella’s Hellfire painted the sky in streaks of orange and red, while Zoe’s Depths’ Grasp wrapped around crumbling buildings, dragging them into ruin.
Larissa darted between the shadows.
The others-Shea, Jane, Vivian, and Alice-each wreaked their own brand of havoc.
“Hold the line!” shouted a tank, his voice cracking as he raised his shield against an advancing Behemoth.
The creature’s massive hooves crushed everything in its path, its roar shaking the ground.
Behind the tank, mages and hunters fired spell after spell, their attacks barely scratching the monstrous creature.
“We can’t hold them back much longer!” one of the mages cried, sweat dripping down his face as he launched another Fireball.
But even amidst the chaos, there was still hope.
[Objective: Defend the City Core.] [Time remaining: 20:59] The players knew they only needed to hold out for twenty more minutes.
Just twenty minutes, and they would survive.
The City Core, a glowing obelisk in the centre of the city, was their last line of defense.
If the villains destroyed it, the event would end in their crushing defeat.
But if the defenders could keep the core intact until the timer ran out, they would win.
From the half-destroyed buildings surrounding the city square, hunters and rogues watched the Devil Emperor’s slow approach.
Hidden in the shadows and rubble, their breaths were shallow, their hands steady on their traps.
Tripwires, explosive runes, and poisoned spikes were all set, hidden expertly among the debris.
The traps were their last resort, their only chance to slow down the Devil Emperor and his entourage.
“We wait for the right moment,” whispered one of the rogues, his voice barely audible over the chaos.
His hands hovered over the activation crystal for the traps.
“Not yet… he has to step right into it.” Another hunter, her bowstring drawn taut, glanced nervously at the advancing figure.
“He’s walking too calmly,” she muttered.
“It’s like he knows.” “Doesn’t matter,” the rogue replied sharply.
“Just wait.

Let him get closer.” Allen’s pace never changed.
His blade rested lightly at his side, its edge dripping faintly with dark energy.
His eyes swept across the battlefield, taking in the defenders’ desperation with an almost bored expression.
Every so often, his lips twitched into a smirk, as if he were daring them to act.
A burst of magic from the walls streaked toward him-a Lightning Bolt fired by one of the mages who had managed to regain their footing.
Without even looking, Allen raised a hand and used his Demonic Orbs.
The bolt struck an orb, dispersing into harmless sparks.
While the rest of the orbs struck the mage.
He chuckled softly, shaking his head.
“Still trying so hard,” he murmured to himself.
The demonesses above him laughed louder, their voices grating against the players’ frayed nerves.
“Should we help them?” Shea asked, her voice playful as she circled above Allen.
“Or do you have it under control?” “Let them try,” Allen replied without looking up.
“They’re entertaining me.” The hunters and rogues tensed, their eyes darting between Allen and their traps.
The tension was palpable as the Devil Emperor stepped closer and closer to where the traps were.
“Now,” whispered the rogue, his voice barely audible.
The traps activated in a chain reaction.
Explosive runes detonated, sending fiery bursts into the air.
Tripwires triggered, releasing spiked walls that shot upward to impale anything in their path.
Poisoned spikes erupted from the ground, their green-tipped edges glinting in the light.
For a brief moment, it seemed like their plan had worked.
The traps enveloped the Devil Emperor in a storm of fire and debris, the explosions and poison clouds obscuring him from view.
The defenders on the walls erupted into cheers.
“We got him!” one of the hunters shouted, her voice breaking with relief.
But the cheers were short-lived.
From the heart of the smoke and flames, a deep, mocking laugh echoed.
It grew louder, reverberating across the battlefield, silencing the defenders and chilling them to the bone.
When the smoke cleared, Allen stood in the same spot, untouched.
The invisible barrier around him.
The traps had left scorch marks on the ground and debris scattered around him, but not a single scratch marred his armor.
He tilted his head slightly, his smirk widening as he raised his hand.
“Cute,” he said.
“But predictable.” Before the hunters or rogues could react, Allen’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
“Stone Curse.” The ground beneath the hidden players erupted with jagged spikes of stone, trapping them in place.
The rogues and hunters cried out, their movements halted as the cursed stone encased their legs and arms.
Slowly, their bodies turned into stones.
Allen raised his blade, pointing it at the trapped players.
“You thought you could outsmart me?” he asked, his tone calm and condescending.
“Let me show you what happens when you challenge the Devil Emperor.” He raised his other hand, summoning Demonic Orbs.
The glowing spheres of crackling energy materialized around him before streaking toward the trapped players.
One by one, the orbs struck, their explosions silencing the cries of the hunters and rogues.
[You just killed 19 players!] Allen turned back to the gates, his smirk unbroken.
The City Core’s glow was faintly visible in the distance, pulsing softly as if it, too, were clinging to hope.
The defenders were thinning, their resistance growing weaker with every passing moment.
“Twenty minutes,” Allen murmured, his voice barely audible.
“Let’s see if you last half that.” Behind him, the monsters surged forward, their roars shaking the broken city.
The bosses rampaged through the rubble, their power unchecked.
Above, the demonesses continued their assault, their mocking laughter a haunting backdrop to the destruction.
The Devil Emperor strode forward as the endgame approached.
