Chapter 1270: Claim Jumpers Chapter 1270: Claim Jumpers Villain Ch 1270.
Claim Jumpers At another place, The Arcane Wardens Guild had fallen back from the gates, their retreat swift and calculated as the chaos of the battlefield raged behind them.
Sophia, flanked by INeedAHotGF, Darren, and Liam, led the group toward the center of Debaris, where the City Core pulsed faintly in the distance.
Their movements were careful, but Sophia’s expression carried a confidence that bordered on arrogance.
Their leader glanced at her, his face pale from exhaustion and worry.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” he asked, his voice low but firm.
“Abandoning the gates feels like handing the city to them.” Sophia smiled, her tone calm and dismissive.
“Trust me, it’s the best move we have.” She turned her head slightly, her hair catching the faint light of the fires behind them.
“I’ve followed Mac for a long time.
Do you know why his guild always struggles, even though it’s one of the strongest?” The leader frowned, glancing at the others for a moment before answering.
“Because he takes risks?” Sophia nodded, her lips curving into a knowing smile.
“Exactly.
Mac always throws himself into the front line, dragging his guild along with him.
It’s reckless and costly.
Sure, it makes them look brave, but they’re bleeding members every time they fight like that.
That’s why even with their strength, they’ll never defeat someone like the Devil Emperor.” Her words carried a certain venom, but there was conviction behind them.
She continued, her voice steady as the group moved closer to the core.
“We’re mages.
The Arcane Wardens can’t fight on the front line like tanks or melee DPS.
We don’t need to.
Let the Devil Emperor burn himself out fighting the others.
When he’s weak, we’ll trap him near the core.” The leader’s expression softened slightly, the logic of her plan settling in.
“You’re saying we play the long game.” Sophia nodded confidently.
“Exactly.
And when we take him down, it’ll be the Arcane Wardens that win the day.
Trust me, this is the smartest move.” The other members murmured their agreement, their fear and exhaustion easing somewhat under Sophia’s confidence.
The leader gave her a small nod, his trust evident.
“Alright.
We’ll do it your way.” Sophia’s chest swelled with pride.
In this new guild, she felt valued, appreciated in a way she never had under Elio’s leadership.

This leader was far easier to manipulate, far more willing to listen to her plans.
Her lips twitched into a smirk.
“You’ll see,” she said softly.
“This will work.” Behind her, however, Liam and Darren exchanged uneasy glances.
Neither of them spoke.
They had followed Sophia long enough to know her patterns, to see through her schemes.
This wasn’t about saving the city or defeating the emperor.
Sophia was using the other players as bait to weaken the villains, planning to swoop in at the last moment and claim the glory for herself.
INeedAHotGF, walking quietly beside Sophia, seemed to share some of their discomfort.
While he couldn’t deny that her plan made tactical sense, there was something off about it.
Something selfish.
He kept his thoughts to himself, glancing back toward the gates.
He’d spent so much time under Elio’s leadership that this calculated retreat felt wrong, no matter how smart it seemed.
Meanwhile, the fight between Zoe and Azura raged on in the skies near the walls.
Zoe’s irritation was palpable, her tentacles lashing out wildly as she tried to pin down her opponent.
Azura’s dragon darted in and out of her range, its sleek form moving with a speed and agility that made Zoe grit her teeth in frustration.
“You’re more annoying than that other Shadow Reaper,” Zoe hissed, her voice low and venomous.
“What was his name?
Gil?” Azura smirked, her daggers glowing faintly with dark energy.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.” Zoe’s eyes narrowed, her irritation boiling over.
“Enough of this.” She raised her hands, her voice echoing with command.
“Depths’ Grasp.” The ground beneath Azura rippled as pools of water formed, pulling at her dragon’s limbs with crushing force.
The beast roared, struggling against the drag as the Kraken Queen’s tentacles surged upward, aiming to ensnare them.
“Not so fast,” Azura muttered, activating her Shadow Blink.
The beast shimmered, disappearing for a split second before reappearing a few feet away, narrowly avoiding Zoe’s attack.
Azura leaned forward, her daggers glowing brighter.
“You’re going to have to try harder.” Zoe’s lips curled into a sneer.
“As you wish.” She raised her hand again, summoning a massive Hydro Lance that shot toward Azura with deadly precision.
The glowing spear of water sliced through the air, forcing Azura to dive sharply to avoid it.
The lance missed, slamming into the wall behind her and leaving a jagged crater.
Azura twisted her dragon sharply, using its momentum to close the gap between her and Zoe.
“You talk big for someone who can’t land a hit.” “Big talk from someone who’s running out of places to hide,” Zoe snapped.
Her tentacles lashed out again, one of them finally catching Azura’s dragon across its wing.
The beast roared in pain, its movements faltering.
Azura cursed under her breath, her mind racing.
She activated Shadow Veil, a skill that cloaked her and her dragon in a dark mist, making them harder to track.
The mist swirled around them as they darted upward, evading Zoe’s follow-up strike.
“You can’t hide forever,” Zoe snarled, her irritation mounting.
She raised both hands, the air around her growing thick with energy.
“Leviathan’s Rage!” The sky darkened as a massive torrent of water and energy erupted around Zoe, forming a swirling vortex that threatened to engulf everything in its path.
The waves crashed outward, slamming into the walls and forcing Azura to weave desperately to avoid being caught.
“Persistent, aren’t you?” Azura muttered, her tone calm despite the chaos.
She activated Shadow Strike, her daggers glowing as she darted toward Zoe with blinding speed.
Her dragon twisted through the air, its injured wing struggling but holding steady as it closed the distance.
Zoe raised a tentacle to block, but Azura was faster.
Her daggers sliced through the Kraken Queen’s defense, leaving glowing marks along her tentacle.
[You got hit by 423 HP!] Zoe let out a roar of frustration, her tentacles thrashing wildly.
“You’re nothing but a pest!” she spat, her voice filled with venom.
“And you’re all bark and no bite,” Azura shot back, her smirk widening.
