Chapter 1294: Buckle Up!
Villain Ch 1294.
Buckle Up!
Noah grinned and clapped him on the back, his easygoing nature a sharp contrast to Elio’s tension.
“You’re not wrong, buddy.
Buckle up.” “Yeah, buckle up,” James echoed, though his tone was more serious.
His gaze had shifted, fixating on the entrance.
He squinted slightly, then motioned with his chin.
“Look.” Elio followed his line of sight, his brow furrowing as he caught sight of the figures walking in.
A man in a sharp suit, his posture radiating authority, accompanied by a woman in a red dress.
Her head was held high, her expression carefully composed, but her eyes darted around the room, scanning it with a hint of calculation.
“Sophia,” Elio said, his voice low and tinged with displeasure.
“What is she doing here?” Alexander, who had been watching the exchange quietly, blinked in surprise.
“That’s Sophia?” he asked, his voice soft and curious.
“I smell trouble,” Noah muttered, crossing his arms as he glanced at her.
James sighed, his expression darkening slightly.
“And I’m not going to let that happen.
My reputation is on the line for this event.” “What’s she even doing here?” Elio asked again, his tone sharper this time.
“She wasn’t invited.
She doesn’t have the connections for something like this.” Mila tilted her head, her gaze following Sophia as she and the man-Mr.
Bell, judging by his confident demeanor-made their way further into the venue.
“That’s Mr.
Bell from Urban Enigma.
She’s probably riding on his coattails.
Looks like an assistant thing.” “Or a date,” James added, though his tone made it clear he didn’t particularly care for the idea.
“Mr.
Bell.
Oh, I met him once.” Elio scowled as he remembered the night in the club.
The night when he almost made a huge mistake.

Almost.
“If she’s here to stir up drama-” “She won’t get the chance,” James cut in firmly.
“I’ll let the event organizers know she’s a potential issue.
If she tries to pull anything, they’ll deal with her.” Elio raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.
“Bit harsh, don’t you think?” James shook his head.
“Not really.
This isn’t just some casual party.
This is a high-profile event with serious people.
If she causes a scene, it’s not just her reputation on the line-it’s mine, and everyone else’s who’s associated with this.” Alexander shifted uncomfortably, his gaze darting between the group.
“Do you really think she’d… do something like that?” “Absolutely,” Elio said without hesitation.
“You don’t know her like we do.
Sophia’s not above pulling stunts to get attention.” Alexander frowned but didn’t argue, his usual shyness keeping him from voicing any more thoughts.
“Should we confront her?” Noah asked, his tone laced with curiosity.
“No,” James said immediately, his expression firm.
“This is a formal event.
Don’t stain your hands or your reputation.
We’ve got the media and every tycoon in this room watching.” Elio nodded, his jaw tightening slightly as he tore his gaze away from Sophia.
“I agree.
Not worth the trouble.” Alexander shifted uneasily, glancing between them.
“Okay… if you’re sure.
I just-she’s not going to actually try anything, right?” Mila, who had been observing the conversation with mild amusement, reached over and patted Alexander’s shoulder.
“Cheer up.
You’ve got Elio backing you up if anything goes down.” “And Azura,” Noah added with a sly grin.
“She could totally swoop in and protect your online rep.
Think of it as a shield maiden for your image.” Alexander blinked, his cheeks reddening slightly.
“I don’t… I mean… what?” Elio let out a low chuckle, shaking his head.
“Don’t overthink it, Alex.
Anyway, the event’s starting soon.
We need to head to our seats.
Let’s go.” Meanwhile, across the room, Sophia’s sharp eyes scanned the crowd.
It didn’t take her long to spot a familiar face-Elio.
His frame and confident stride were unmistakable, but it was the man trailing behind him that really caught her attention.
‘Father^Alex,’ she thought, her lips curling into a faint smirk.
So that’s what the timid healer looked like in real life.
He was shorter than she’d expected, with a lean frame, tousled hair, and a quiet demeanor that practically screamed “introvert.” It was almost endearing-almost.
She straightened her posture, letting her shoulders roll back as she adjusted her dress.
The rich red fabric caught the light perfectly, its elegant cut accentuating her figure.
Sophia knew she looked stunning, and she intended to make sure everyone else knew it too.
‘He didn’t expect me to be here, did he?’ she thought, the idea giving her a rush of satisfaction.
Even if Elio didn’t acknowledge her, even if he pretended not to care, she wanted him to know she could thrive without him.
She belonged here, no matter what anyone thought.
But once she shifted her focus back to the crowd, her eyes landed on another group-James and Noah, standing with a strikingly beautiful woman in a sleek dress.
Sophia frowned, her confidence faltering slightly.
She didn’t recognize the woman, but she was clearly close to the two men.
And then there was James, who seemed deep in conversation with a man in a sharp suit who radiated authority.
Judging by his demeanor, the man was likely part of the event’s organizing team.
‘What are they doing here?’ Sophia wondered, her irritation bubbling beneath the surface.
‘This is ridiculous.
How could they get in too?’ She turned her gaze back to the woman with them, unable to shake her curiosity.
Who was she?
A guildmate?
A girlfriend?
Whatever the case, her presence grated on Sophia’s nerves more than she wanted to admit.
It wasn’t just her beauty-though that certainly didn’t help-but the way she seemed so at ease, like she’d been here a thousand times before.
Sophia adjusted her posture, trying to channel confidence as she glanced at Mr.
Bell, who was now darting his gaze around the room before he returned it to the invitation.
“Are you okay?” he asked suddenly, not looking up.
She stiffened slightly, turning to face him.
“Yes, of course.
Why?” He glanced at her, raising an eyebrow.
“You looked surprised.
