Chapter 1295: Influential?
Chapter 1295: Influential?
Villain Ch 1295.
Influential?
Sophia hesitated for a fraction of a second before forcing a smile.
“I’m just a bit nervous,” she said, her tone carefully light.
“Those two look… intimidating.” Mr.
Bell followed her gaze, his expression thoughtful as he looked at James and Noah.
“Oh, you mean them?” Sophia nodded, relieved that he seemed to buy her excuse.
“They do look intimidating,” he admitted.
“That’s the young master and young lady of the Sterlinghart family.” He motioned toward Noah and Mila.
“And the other one,” he continued, nodding toward James, “is the young master of the Stoutforge family.
They’ve got quite a reputation.” Sophia’s stomach dropped, her smile faltering slightly.
“What kind of reputation?” she asked, feigning casual interest.
“Well,” Mr.
Bell began, leaning back in his chair, “the Sterlingharts own MagicSword Interactive, one of the top gaming companies out there.
It’s no surprise to find them here.
And James, the Stoutforge heir, is one of the investors in this very building.” Sophia blinked, trying to process the information.
She’d played countless adventures with Noah and James, trash-talked them, bantered with them and even intimidated Mila in Hell’s Gate.
And now she was finding out they were… wealthy?
Influential?
“They’re… wealthy people?” she asked, her voice quieter than she intended.
“Very,” Mr.
Bell confirmed with a nod.
“And that girl, Mila-she’s a top model.
Famous in the industry.
Huge following.
A lot of fans.” Sophia felt her composure slipping.
She clenched her fists, forcing herself to remain calm.
Mila?

A top model?
The realization felt like a slap in the face, and it took everything in her not to react.
Instead, she took a deep breath, nodding as though she were simply absorbing the information.
“Interesting,” she said, her voice as steady as she could manage.
Mr.
Bell chuckled softly.
“Intimidating, right?
But don’t worry, you’re doing great.” She nodded again, though her thoughts were a whirlwind.
She wanted to scream, to shout, to demand how life could be so unfair.
These people-Noah, James, Mila-had everything.
Money, status, influence.
And here she was, struggling to prove she belonged in a world they seemed to glide through effortlessly.
Her eyes darted back to them, watching as James spoke with calm authority to a man in a suit, clearly someone important.
Noah leaned casually against the railing nearby, his easy smile suggesting he wasn’t fazed by anything.
And Mila… Mila stood there like she owned the room, her elegance effortless, her beauty commanding attention.
‘How could I have been so blind?’ Sophia thought, biting the inside of her cheek to suppress the frustration.
She had always prided herself on being observant, on understanding people.
But this?
This had completely blindsided her.
She turned back to Mr.
Bell, her expression carefully neutral.
“Thank you for letting me know.
I’ll keep it in mind.” He smiled, clearly oblivious to the storm brewing inside her.
“Good.
Now, let’s focus on making the most of this event.
We’ve got some connections to build.” Sophia nodded, her mind racing.
‘Connections,’ she thought bitterly.
‘That’s all this is to him.’ But for her, it was personal now.
She wasn’t going to let them-any of them-overshadow her.
Adjusting her dress once more, she lifted her chin, steeling herself.
She would show them she could stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of them, even if her insides were twisting in frustration.
Sophia glanced at Mr.
Bell, who was checking the invitation once again, a slight furrow in his brow.
A staff member, dressed impeccably in medieval-themed attire, approached with a polite smile.
“Good evening.
Are you having difficulty locating your seats?” Mr.
Bell nodded.
“It seems that way.
Here’s the invitation.” He handed it over, his tone calm but authoritative.
The staff member scanned the details, then gestured with an open hand.
“This way, please.
Your seats are in a prime location, not too far back but with an excellent view of the stage.” Sophia followed Mr.
Bell as they were escorted through the venue, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor.
The grandeur of the place was hard to ignore, but her mind was elsewhere.
The realization about James, Noah, and Mila still gnawed at her, but she pushed it aside.
This wasn’t the time to let her emotions show.
The staff member led them to a row of seats that were, indeed, perfectly situated.
From here, they could see everything-the grand stage, the intricate holographic centerpiece, and the guests settling into their places.
“Enjoy the event,” the staff member said with a bow before leaving.
Sophia barely had time to take her seat before her gaze landed on someone she hadn’t expected to see.
Her breath hitched, and her grip on her clutch tightened as she spotted Vivian.
Vivian.
Her blood nemesis in the real world.
She stood a few rows ahead, laughing at something one of her companions had said.
Vivian’s presence alone would have been enough to sour Sophia’s mood, but it didn’t stop there.
Standing next to Vivian, chatting casually, was Larissa-another of Allen’s girlfriends and someone Sophia had clashed with more times than she cared to admit, especially in those pilates classes.
And they weren’t alone.
A cluster of women sat in the front row, their elegance and confidence undeniable.
Sophia recognized them immediately-Allen’s girlfriends.
The sight of them together, so composed, so comfortable, all wore stunning dresses, made her stomach churn.
Then her gaze landed on Azura, standing near the group but not seated.
She was talking to the others, her demeanor relaxed yet commanding.
Vivian’s attention flicked toward Sophia, and for a brief moment, their eyes met.
Vivian’s surprise was evident-just for a heartbeat.
Once her gaze landed to Mr.Bell, as if recovering, she smirked, leaning slightly to say something to Larissa.
Whatever it was, it made Larissa glance over, followed by the others.
Sophia’s heart sank as the entire group turned toward her.
Their expressions varied-curious, amused, and, most annoyingly, mocking.
Vivian’s smirk grew, as if she knew exactly what she was doing.
