Chapter 1311: Not a Social Call Chapter 1311: Not a Social Call Villain Ch 1311.
Not a Social Call Allen tilted his head, a faint smirk playing at his lips.
“Yeah?
What did you expect?” Elio chuckled, scratching the back of his neck.
“I don’t know.
Something less… Goldborne.
You’ve come a long way.” Allen studied him for a moment, his expression unreadable.
“Thanks,” he said finally.
“Though I’m guessing this isn’t just a social call.” “Caught me,” Elio admitted, his grin widening slightly.
“I just wanted to say… that demo?
It was impressive.
You’ve always been good, but seeing you like that… man, it’s on another level.” Allen crossed his arms, his tone neutral.
“You’ve seen me fight before.” “Not like this,” Elio said, shaking his head.
“This wasn’t just gaming.
This was something different.” Allen raised an eyebrow, trying to read between the lines.
He wasn’t used to compliments from Elio-it wasn’t their style.
“So?” Allen asked, his tone neutral but laced with curiosity.
Elio crossed his arms, his expression sharpening into something more familiar.
“So, I want to challenge you to a duel.” Allen blinked.
‘Aren’t you tired of dueling me?’ he thought but didn’t say.
Most of their in-game clashes had been between their avatars-his Devil Emperor and Elio’s paladin, a rivalry neither acknowledged outright but both clearly felt.
Of course, Elio didn’t know the Devil Emperor was him.
That thought alone almost made Allen smirk.
Instead, he kept his expression calm.
“Okay,” he said simply, then gestured toward the buffet tables.
“But stick to the schedule first.
Dinner comes before dueling.” Elio nodded, his grin not faltering.
“Fair enough.
I’ll wait for you.” “Great,” Allen replied, though his tone was more nonchalant than enthusiastic.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to fight Elio-far from it.

He relished the competition.
But something about this timing felt… strange.
Elio was just about to turn away when he hesitated, a flicker of thought crossing his face.
He turned back to Allen, his brow furrowed.
“Hey, uh, you know Sophia’s here, right?” Allen’s jaw tightened slightly, but he nodded.
“Yeah.
I saw her.
She’s with Mr.
Bell.” Elio’s expression darkened, his casual demeanor taking a more serious edge.
“Just… be careful, okay?
You know how she is.” “I know,” Allen said, his voice steady.
“I’ve got it under control.” For a moment, Elio looked like he wanted to say more, but he simply nodded, clapping Allen on the shoulder.
“Alright.
See you after dinner.” Allen watched as Elio disappeared into the crowd, his mind turning over the exchange.
Sophia’s presence here was no coincidence-he knew that much.
She never did anything without a reason, and he wasn’t about to let his guard down.
Still, the thought of her being around Mr.
Bell made his stomach churn.
There was no way she was here just to spectate.
He exhaled deeply, brushing the thoughts aside for now.
There was something else that deserved his attention-someone else, rather.
He turned his attention back to his girlfriends who were gathered in a semi-circle near.
They were dressed to impress tonight, and the glow of their laughter reached him even over the noise of the party.
‘Time to lighten the mood.’ Allen approached with his usual calm stride, his gaze flicking over the group.
Larissa held a flute of champagne, her gown hugging her figure perfectly.
Vivian was leaning against the table, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes as she sipped her drink.
Shea looked elegant yet commanding in her attire, the familial resemblance between her and her daughter undeniable.
Zoe herself was mid-laugh, a plate of food balanced in one hand.
Jane, Bella, and Alice rounded out the group.
They all looked effortlessly gorgeous tonight.
“You guys look happy today,” Allen remarked, his lips curling into a small smile.
Vivian giggled, tilting her head slightly.
“Of course we’re happy!
You should’ve seen the look on your ex’s face when she realized you were a Goldborne.” Larissa smirked, her tone measured but carrying a hint of amusement.
“Not to mention when that reporter asked about your sudden disappearance from the gaming elite two years ago.” Jane chimed in, her voice soft but laced with a sharp edge.
“It seemed like she was afraid you’d spill everything.
She looked ready to faint if you said one wrong word.” Alice chuckled as she added, “I can imagine it.
Her eyes darted around, trying to figure out how to escape.” Bella laughed, her smile mischievous.
“You should’ve just pointed at her and said, ‘She cheated on me!
I was broken-hearted!’ That would’ve been a show.” Zoe grinned, leaning slightly toward Bella.
“Oh, I can imagine her pale face.
It’d be priceless.” Shea chuckled but shook her head.
“Not the best move for an event like this, though.
Still… it would’ve been interesting.” Allen sighed, a mix of amusement and exasperation.
“You all are ruthless, you know that?” Vivian grinned.
“Not ruthless.
Just supportive.
Someone has to cheer you on while you’re taking the high road.” “We’re just brainstorming alternatives,” Zoe teased, smirking. Larissa’s gaze softened slightly as she raised her glass.
“You handled it well, Allen.
Better than most would.” He shrugged, his tone casual but sincere.
“It’s not worth dragging out old drama.
Let her think whatever she wants.
Tonight’s not about her.” Jane nodded approvingly.
“Spoken like a true Goldborne.” Allen smirked, shaking his head slightly.
“I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or if you’re just poking fun at me.” Jane gave him a sweet, innocent smile.
“Can’t it be both?” Vivian giggled, leaning her elbow on the table.
“Oh, it’s definitely both.” The group laughed.
It was always like this with them-sharp wit, warm camaraderie, and the unspoken understanding that no matter what happened, they had his back.
Once the laughter died down, Zoe gestured toward the far side of the room.
“By the way, have you seen Alexander?” “Alexander?” Allen repeated, his brow furrowing.
“Why?” Larissa crossed her arms, a knowing smirk on her lips.
“Because you should.
He’s… well, let’s just say he’s a character.” Shea raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued.
“What do you mean?” “See for yourself,” Larissa said, motioning subtly toward a figure hovering near Elio.
