Chapter 1317: Some Regrets Can’t Be Fixed Chapter 1317: Some Regrets Can’t Be Fixed Villain Ch 1317.
Some Regrets Can’t Be Fixed “Good choice,” Bella said approvingly.
“She’s the type to stir up trouble just because she can.” “She really is,” Zoe added, shaking her head.
“I still don’t get how you put up with her back then.” Allen shrugged.
“Young and dumb, I guess.” Vivian grinned.
“Well, at least you’re older and smarter now.” Before anyone could respond, a polite throat-clearing interrupted the conversation.
They all turned to see Mr.
Bell standing nearby, his expression carefully composed but slightly stiff.
He offered a polite smile, clearly trying to come across as friendly.
“Good evening, Mr.
Goldborne,” Mr.
Bell said, his tone formal but laced with tension.
“This is… quite unexpected.
I didn’t expect the Goldborne family’s young master to be one of our models before.” Allen remained calm, his expression unreadable as he offered a polite nod.
“Mr.
Bell.” The girls exchanged subtle glances.
Shea leaned in slightly, whispering to Bella, “This should be interesting.” Bella smirked.
“Popcorn moment.” Mr.
Bell’s smile remained firmly in place, though there was a flicker of unease in his eyes.
“I must say, you’ve certainly surprised us all.
Who would’ve thought the Allen we used to know would turn out to be… well, this?” Allen’s gaze didn’t waver.
“Life has a way of surprising people.” There was a beat of silence before Mr.
Bell cleared his throat again, clearly trying to steer the conversation in a direction that would benefit him.
“I just wanted to say, on behalf of the agency, we appreciate your contributions.
The work you did with us-well, it was valuable.
And if you ever consider returning, we’d be more than happy to have you.” Jane snorted quietly, earning a nudge from Zoe, who was trying not to laugh.
Shea gave Allen a subtle look, silently asking if he needed backup, but Allen raised a hand slightly, signaling he had it under control.
“I appreciate the offer,” Allen said, his tone polite but distant.
“But I’ve moved on to other things.” Mr.
Bell nodded quickly, clearly not wanting to push too hard.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
“Of course, of course.
Just thought I’d extend the invitation.
You know, in case you ever change your mind.” Allen didn’t respond immediately.
He took another sip of his wine, letting the silence linger just long enough to make Mr.
Bell shift uncomfortably.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Allen said finally, his tone so neutral it was impossible to tell whether he was being serious or dismissive.
Mr.
Bell’s gaze locked on Vivian, and he forced another smile, this one slightly strained.
“Vivian, I’ve heard about your… closeness with Allen,” he said, his voice carefully polite but with an undertone of curiosity.
“But I didn’t realize it was this close.
You have a good eye.” Vivian’s lips curved into a subtle smile, but there was something sharp behind it-like a predator toying with its prey.
“I am,” she said simply, her tone light but pointed.
“I tend to have a good eye for things that matter.” The girls giggled quietly, clearly enjoying the tension.
Mr.
Bell, however, didn’t seem to share their amusement.
He shifted slightly, adjusting his stance as if trying to regain control of the conversation.
Vivian took a step closer, her smile widening just a fraction.
“By the way, Mr.
Bell, I was curious-why did you bring Sophia here tonight?
I mean, we all know this is a high-profile event.
Bringing someone like her… well, it raises questions.” She paused, then added with a sly tilt of her head, “Do you have a special relationship with her?
You know, like the one I have with Allen?” Allen tried not to choke on his drink, while the rest of the girls barely managed to suppress their laughter.
Larissa covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes gleaming with amusement.
Mr.
Bell, on the other hand, visibly tensed.
For a moment, it looked like he might lose his composure, but he quickly regained his footing, offering a carefully controlled smile.
“Sophia and I?
No, there’s nothing like that.
Our relationship is purely professional.” Vivian raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced but willing to let him continue.
Mr.
Bell cleared his throat, his voice a little too steady, as if rehearsed.
“I don’t understand much about gaming,” he admitted.
“Sophia claimed she’s been playing Hell’s Gate since day one.
She said she has insight into the game and the community, so I decided to make her my assistant for events like these.
What we have is nothing more than a professional relationship.
Nothing more.” Vivian hummed thoughtfully, clearly enjoying his discomfort.
“Interesting.
So, you trust her judgment on a game you don’t even understand?” Mr.
Bell’s composure wavered just slightly.
“Well, she seemed knowledgeable.
I didn’t see a reason not to.” “She seemed knowledgeable?” Larissa echoed, raising an eyebrow.
“That’s not exactly a glowing recommendation.” Jane crossed her arms, her expression skeptical.
“Did you even bother checking if she’s actually good at the game?
Or did you just take her word for it?” Mr.
Bell opened his mouth to respond but hesitated, clearly unsure how to answer without digging himself deeper into a hole.
Allen, watching the exchange, felt a flicker of amusement.
Vivian wasn’t just toying with him-she was dismantling his entire defense with pointed questions and subtle jabs.
Before Mr.
Bell could recover, Zoe leaned in slightly, her voice deceptively sweet.
“So, if she’s so great at Hell’s Gate, why isn’t she over there mingling with the gamers instead of standing in a corner looking miserable?” “Maybe she’s shy,” Bella said, feigning innocence.
“Or maybe she’s just not as knowledgeable as she claimed.” Mr.Bell cleared his throat again, clearly desperate to end the conversation.
“I think I’ve taken up enough of your time.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.” “Oh, we will,” Vivian said with a smile that was far too pleasant to be genuine.
“But please remember this, Mr.
Bell,” she said, her tone turning colder, more serious.
The playful edge from earlier was gone, replaced by something sharper-something that made the air between them feel heavier.
“You’re already married.
Don’t sacrifice it for something that’s not worth it.
Some regrets can’t be fixed.
Some can only be regretted.” It wasn’t just a warning-it was a threat, clear and unmistakable.
