Chapter 1323: Feel Connected Chapter 1323: Feel Connected Villain Ch 1323.
Feel Connected There was something about him tonight-something more composed, more grounded than before.
Maybe it was the way he carried himself now, as though he had finally accepted the weight of being a Goldborne.
Or maybe it was the subtle changes in his demeanor, the quiet confidence that hadn’t been there before.
Whatever it was, it made Mila feel… uncertain.
She wasn’t used to feeling uncertain.
In their world, uncertainty was weakness, and weakness was something she couldn’t afford.
Her eyes drifted down to his hand, resting casually by his side.
The urge to reach out and take it crept up on her unexpectedly, catching her off guard.
She didn’t even fully understand why she wanted to do it-maybe it was to reassure herself that things were different now, that there was still something between them worth fighting for.
Maybe it was just to feel connected, even if only for a moment.
Her heart beat a little faster as she hesitated, her fingers inching closer to his hand.
‘Just a touch,’ she thought.
‘Just something to remind him I’m still here.’ But before she could close the gap, the staff’s voice rang out over the speakers again, clear and authoritative.
“Attention, participants!
The next round will begin shortly.
Please make your way to the dome.” Allen straightened slightly at the announcement, his attention immediately shifting back to the event.
“Looks like it’s my turn,” he said, finishing the last of his champagne in one smooth motion.
He set the empty glass down on the table, his mind already switching gears, focused on what was coming next.
Mila quickly pulled her hand back, the movement almost instinctive.
She felt a flicker of embarrassment, though she tried to brush it off as nothing.
‘Stupid’, she thought to herself.
‘What were you even trying to do?’ Allen didn’t seem to notice her momentary hesitation.
His eyes were on the dome, and there was a determined edge to his expression now.
“I should get ready,” he said, more to himself than to her.
Mila forced a smile, masking the turmoil in her chest.
“Good luck out there,” she said.
Allen glanced at her briefly, his smirk returning.
“Thanks.
I’ll need it-Elio’s not going to make this easy.” He turned and began walking toward the dome, leaving Mila standing there.

She watched him go, her hands gripping her glass tightly as conflicting emotions churned inside her.
Relief, frustration, hope, and something else she couldn’t quite name.
She hated feeling this vulnerable.
But she did.
And that was the problem.
Once Allen approached the dome, the crowd’s energy shifted.
People began to gather closer, murmurs spreading quickly as they realized this match was going to be different.
Unlike the previous rounds, where participants had merely tested the technology, this was a real duel.
Allen versus Elio-two skilled players, two people with a history, about to go head-to-head.
Allen reached the entrance, Elio turned and greeted him with a grin.
“Thank you for giving me this chance, Allen.” Allen smirked slightly, his usual calm demeanor intact.
“The pleasure’s mine.” From Elio’s perspective, this wasn’t just another match-it was something more.
A way to gauge how much Allen had grown, not just in terms of his newfound status, but in terms of skill.
Elio wasn’t the type to shy away from competition, especially when it involved someone like Allen.
They had crossed paths many times before, but this was different.
This was real-or as real as VR combat could get.
“You might need some time to adjust to the gameplay and the controller,” Allen reminded him.
Elio raised an eyebrow, his grin widening slightly.
“You think so?” Allen shrugged, his tone casual but with a teasing edge.
“It’s different from Hell’s Gate.
How long do you think you’ll need?
Five minutes?” Elio chuckled, the competitive fire in his eyes flaring up.
“A minute.
That’s all.” Allen tilted his head, clearly amused.
“Confident.
I like that.” “But,” Elio added, his tone growing serious, “in return, I want this to be hand-to-hand combat only.
No skills, no flashy moves.
Just us, pure combat.
How about that?” Allen paused, considering the challenge.
Elio knew Allen wasn’t someone who backed down easily, especially when it came to tests of skill.
This wasn’t just about showing off-it was about respect.
Elio wanted to see where he stood, and he wanted to do it in the purest form possible: no gimmicks, no fancy tricks, just fists, simple weapons and footwork.
“Okay,” Allen said after a moment, his expression unreadable but calm.
He turned to the nearest staff member.
“Can you set it up for us?
Hand-to-hand combat only.
No skills.” The staff nodded, quickly adjusting the settings on their tablet.
“It’s done.
The system will automatically disable any skill usage for both participants.
You’ll only be able to fight with basic attacks.” Elio’s heart pounded with anticipation as he stepped into the capsule.
The interior was sleek and futuristic, every surface gleaming with polished metal and smooth glass.
He slid into the seat and placed the helmet over his head, the world around him fading into darkness for a moment before the virtual environment flickered to life.
When the world stabilized, Elio found himself standing in a wide-open arena, the ground beneath him hard and solid, resembling stone tiles.
The sky overhead was a deep, swirling red, casting an otherworldly glow over the battlefield.
Across from him, Allen’s avatar appeared, clad in simple black combat gear, his stance relaxed but ready.
In each hand, Allen held sleek dual daggers, their edges gleaming faintly under the crimson light.
Elio knew Allen preferred fast, agile classes-assassins, rogues, anything that prioritized speed over brute strength.
Elio, on the other hand, had chosen his usual-a knight with a sword and shield.
His armor was thick and heavy, the sword in his hand broad and deadly.
The shield strapped to his left arm was polished and sturdy, ready to block anything Allen might throw at him.
