Chapter 1328: Into The Lion’s Den Chapter 1328: Into The Lion’s Den Villain Ch 1328.
Into The Lion’s Den Once they neared the entrance to the VIP room, Allen’s mind ran through the information Kai had provided over the past few days.
He had asked Kai to prepare him for something like this-backgrounds on key families, potential allies, possible rivals.
He wasn’t walking in blind, but that didn’t mean it would be easy.
These people were powerful, experienced, and-most importantly-they were used to getting their way.
Stopping just outside the door, Allen took a deep breath, steadying himself.
Respectful, but not submissive.
That’s the balance.
Kai stepped forward, opening the door with a subtle nod.
“After you.” Allen walked in, immediately aware of the shift in atmosphere.
The room was elegant, quieter than the main hall, with a long table set at the center.
Several older men and women sat around it, their postures relaxed but their eyes sharp, like predators sizing up new prey.
Azura’s family sat toward the front, her father in particular exuding an air of quiet authority.
He was a man in his late forties, well-dressed and sharp-eyed, with an expression that gave away nothing.
Jordan stood near the head of the table, his usual confident demeanor firmly in place.
He gave Allen a brief nod, silently telling him to handle this carefully.
“Allen,” Jordan said, his voice calm but carrying weight.
“I believe you’ve met some of these guests before.
And those you haven’t-well, they’ve been very eager to meet you.” Allen’s gaze swept the room, taking in the faces of the gathered families.
He didn’t let himself hesitate or show any hint of discomfort.
Instead, he stepped forward, offering a polite nod.
“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you.” One of the older men, a distinguished-looking figure with silver hair, leaned forward slightly, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
“So, this is the young man we’ve heard so much about.
Quite the entrance you made tonight.” Allen smiled faintly, keeping his tone measured.
“I try not to make a habit of surprises, but tonight seemed like a good time for one.” A few chuckles rippled through the room, but the tension remained.
Azura’s father was the next to speak, his voice smooth but with an edge of scrutiny.
“You’ve certainly caught everyone’s attention, Allen.
Stepping into a role like this isn’t easy, especially when it comes with expectations.” “I understand that,” Allen said, meeting the man’s gaze directly.
“But I didn’t step into this role lightly.
I know what’s at stake.” Azura’s father studied him for a moment before nodding slowly.

“Good.
It’s important that you do.” The conversation shifted slightly as another guest, a woman in an elegant gown, spoke up.
“And how are you finding things so far?
Adjusting well?” “It’s a learning process,” Allen admitted honestly.
“But I’m fortunate to have people like my father and Emma guiding me.
That makes a difference.” The woman smiled, clearly pleased by the diplomatic answer.
“Spoken like someone who understands the importance of good counsel.” Allen could feel the subtle undercurrents of the room-the unspoken tests, the quiet judgments being formed.
He knew he was being measured with every word he spoke, every expression he made.
But he didn’t let it rattle him.
This was just another kind of duel, one he had been preparing for in his own way.
Azura’s father leaned forward again, this time with a more personal question.
“And what about Azura?
She speaks highly of you.
I trust she’s been a good guide during her time at the Goldborne estate?” Allen allowed a small, genuine smile.
“Azura’s been invaluable.
She’s helped me understand a lot about this world.
I’m grateful for her support.” Azura’s father’s expression softened slightly, and for the first time, Allen saw something resembling approval.
“Good.
It’s important to have strong allies.
Especially those who know both sides of the coin.” Allen didn’t react outwardly, but internally, he allowed himself a brief moment of relief.
Navigating conversations like this was a delicate dance, and earning even a shred of respect from someone as cautious as Azura’s father was no small feat.
Still, he knew better than to relax just yet-this wasn’t over.
Azura, standing by his side, maintained a composed demeanor, her posture straight, her expression formal.
She wasn’t the same Azura he knew from their time hanging out at the mansion.
Here, she was playing a role, just like him.
It was a strange sight, seeing her so reserved, but Allen understood it perfectly.
They were both adapting to their surroundings, aware of the eyes on them, aware of the expectations.
One of the older men at the table leaned forward, his hands clasped together.
“So, Allen, now that you’re officially part of the Goldborne family, what do you plan to contribute?
How do you see yourself helping Jordan in the future?” Allen glanced briefly at his father, catching the subtle flicker of curiosity in Jordan’s eyes.
It was clear that Jordan wanted to know his answer too-this wasn’t just a question from the guests.
Allen took a moment, choosing his words carefully.
“Well,” Allen began, his voice calm but firm, “I’m still learning the ropes, but I plan to assist wherever I can.
Whether that’s helping to modernize certain aspects of the business, working on public relations, or exploring new opportunities.
My background is different from the traditional corporate world, but I think that gives me a unique perspective.” There was a brief pause as the guests exchanged glances.
One of the women, elegantly dressed and clearly someone who didn’t waste time on pleasantries, tilted her head slightly.
“And what exactly is your background, Allen?
What did you do before this?” Allen hesitated for a split second.
‘Well, I can’t exactly tell them I’m a harem writer…’ He pushed that thought aside and smiled slightly.
“I used to be involved in e-sports.
I was a pro player under the name Godlike.
I won a major tournament a couple of years ago.” The room seemed to shift slightly at that, murmurs spreading among the guests.
E-sports might not have been a traditional path, but it was a lucrative and rapidly growing industry.
A few of the younger attendees nodded in recognition, clearly familiar with the name.
