Chapter 1331: Burnt Bridges Chapter 1331: Burnt Bridges Villain Ch 1331.
Burnt Bridges “I’m not delusional, Allen,” she said smoothly, tilting her head slightly as she regarded him.
“You’re rich now.
All those people around you… they only see your status.
Not you.
Those girls included.” Allen’s eyes narrowed.
He stepped forward slightly, closing the distance between them just enough to make his presence clear but not enough to seem threatening.
His voice dropped to a low, steady tone.
“Don’t talk about things you don’t understand.” “Oh, I understand perfectly,” Sophia said, her smirk growing.
“I’ve seen it before.
People like you-suddenly rising to wealth and power.
And then, suddenly, everyone wants to be close to you.
Not because they care about you, but because they care about what you have.” Allen exhaled slowly, willing himself to stay calm.
He didn’t need this.
Not tonight.
But Sophia seemed intent on pushing every button she could find.
“You really think you know everything, don’t you?” he said, his tone cold but controlled.
“I know enough,” she said, leaning slightly against the wall.
“I know that when things get hard, those girls will leave.
They’re here for the Goldborne name, not for you.
Me?
I’ve known you before all of this.
Before the money, before the power.
And I didn’t leave because I didn’t care-I left because I didn’t think you’d make it.
But look at you now.
You proved me wrong.
I’m willing to admit that.” Allen’s hands tightened into fists again, but he forced himself to stay rooted in place.
“You didn’t leave because you cared,” he said, his voice low and firm.
“You left because you thought I wasn’t good enough for you.
Let’s not rewrite history.” Sophia flinched slightly, but her composure quickly returned.

“Fine.
Think what you want.
But one day, when you realize they don’t actually care about you, I’ll be here.
Waiting.” Allen didn’t respond immediately.
He studied her for a moment, searching for the girl he used to know-the one he thought he loved.
But all he saw was someone who couldn’t let go of the past, someone who thought she could manipulate him like she had before.
He felt nothing but a cold detachment.
“You’ll be waiting a long time,” Allen said finally, his voice quiet but resolute.
“Because I’m not coming back.” Sophia opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, a man in a sharp black suit approached them with hurried steps.
He was one of the security guards Allen had ordered to keep an eye on Sophia earlier.
His posture was stiff, his expression tense.
“I apologize, Mr.
Goldborne,” the man said respectfully, glancing between Allen and Sophia.
“I thought she just went to the restroom because she appeared… intoxicated.
I waited nearby, but I didn’t expect her to cause any trouble.” Allen sighed, the tension in his shoulders returning.
“Take her back to Mr.
Bell,” he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
“And tell him he’s supposed to keep his assistant under control-or at least bring someone who knows how to behave in events like this.
Otherwise, it could affect his reputation or even the company he represents.” “Yes, sir,” the guard replied with a slight bow.
The guard reached out, gently but firmly attempting to guide Sophia away.
But before he could take her arm, she jerked away, glaring at him before turning her attention back to Allen.
Her expression shifted, the bitterness in her eyes now unmistakable.
“Do you really think he still cares about me?” she asked, her voice low but sharp, filled with something between anger and sorrow.
Without waiting for a response, she laughed-a bitter, hollow sound.
“No.
He doesn’t.
He’s too busy going from one guest to another, searching for connections, securing deals.
He’s playing the game, Allen.
And me?
I’m just here.
Alone.” Allen didn’t react, keeping his expression neutral.
But inside, he felt the weariness growing.
‘Why is she like this now?
Why drag this out?’ Sophia swayed slightly, her grip tightening on the glass in her hand.
“I tried,” she said softly, almost as if speaking to herself.
“I tried to talk to people.
But I don’t know them.
I don’t understand half the things they talk about-business deals, investments, stocks… How can I even join those conversations?” “So, your solution is to drown yourself in wine?” Allen said, his voice calm but carrying a slight edge.
Sophia ignored the question, her gaze distant.
“My only friend tonight is wine.
I thought… maybe I’ll find someone.” She laughed again, though this time it was more of a sad chuckle.
“But I can’t…” “You had Elio and Gil.
Even Alexander.
But you burned that bridge yourself,” Allen said, crossing his arms.
“Don’t blame me,” she snapped, her voice rising slightly before dropping back to a bitter tone.
“It’s Alexander’s fault.
If he didn’t take my spotlight, things might’ve been different.
Elio and Gil might still be behind me, supporting me like they always did.
Especially Elio…” Her voice softened for a moment, her gaze distant, lost in some memory.
“He was so sweet.
He reminded me of the old you.” Allen’s patience was wearing thin.
He took a slow breath, keeping his composure.
“Maybe instead of blaming Alexander, you should take a good look at yourself.
People don’t leave without a reason.” She flinched at his words but quickly masked it with another bitter smile.
“Easy for you to say.
You’re standing here, surrounded by people, connections, power… while I’m standing here, alone.” “That was your choice,” Allen said, his tone sharper now.
“You pushed people away.
You used them.
And now, when you’re alone, you want to act like the victim?” Sophia’s grip tightened on her glass, her knuckles turning white.
“You don’t understand-” “No, Sophia.
I understand perfectly,” Allen interrupted, his eyes locked onto hers.
“I was there.
I saw how you treated people.
How you treated me.
And now you want to play the regret card because things didn’t go the way you wanted?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
