Chapter 1335: Questions of Worth Chapter 1335: Questions of Worth Villain Ch 1335.
Questions of Worth Allen returned to the hall, his steps relaxed.
The moment he stepped back into the main crowd, he spotted the girls gathered near a sleek, modern bar, their laughter blending with the ambient noise of the party.
The investors around him had finally dispersed, leaving him free to unwind-well, as much as one could unwind in a room filled with tycoons and potential spies.
Shea’s voice rang out, light and teasing.
“You missed Zoe’s fight with Emma.” Allen’s eyebrows arched slightly in curiosity.
“Who won?” Zoe, standing confidently with a glass of wine in hand, smirked.
“Of course I did.” Allen chuckled as Jane immediately handed him a glass of champagne.
He took it with a nod of thanks.
“Thank you.” Bella leaned in slightly, her mischievous grin lighting up her face.
“You look sweet like sugar tonight, Allen.” Alice chimed in, her tone deadpan but with a hint of amusement.
“That’s why they swarmed around him.” Allen took a sip of his champagne, savoring the brief moment of calm before answering.
“Those investors aren’t a problem.
Elio, on the other hand, is more of a problem than that.” The atmosphere shifted instantly.
The girls exchanged glances, their relaxed demeanor replaced by a subtle tension.
Jane leaned forward slightly, concern flickering in her eyes.
“What happened?” Allen set his glass down, his expression calm, almost too casual.
“He came to me and asked if I was the Devil Emperor.” That did it.
The girls tensed up visibly, their expressions a mix of shock and worry.
Larissa spoke up, her voice low.
“He found out?” “Almost,” Allen said with a shrug.
“But I denied it.” Vivian frowned, setting her own drink aside.
“But he could have told his theory to the others.” “I wouldn’t do that if I were him,” Allen said confidently.
“The company sent them an agreement about this, right?
They can’t leak anything here unless the company agrees.
That includes the tech, the tournament announcement, and… this one.” Shea nodded thoughtfully.
“True.” Jane’s eyes narrowed slightly as she processed his words.
“That was a clever prevention.
Whose idea was that?
Kai?” Allen smirked, a hint of pride in his expression.

“Mine.
I said this is an exclusive event, so all the guests had to sign it.
It’s on every invitation.
Including the media and press.
That’s why there’s no live recording, and everything that will be aired will be according to the company’s agreement.
Better safe than sorry.” He took another sip of his champagne, completely unfazed by the tension around him.
The girls’ jaws dropped, either in awe or something else entirely.
None of them had expected Allen to think that far ahead.
“That’s… impressive,” Larissa said finally, her voice carrying a note of admiration.
“Smart move,” Shea agreed, crossing her arms.
“If Elio tries to spread anything, it won’t go far.
He’d risk getting blacklisted by the company, or worse than that and no gamer wants that.” Allen gave a small nod.
“Exactly.
And besides, Elio’s not stupid.
He knows the consequences.” “But what if he starts digging on his own?” Vivian asked, her tone more serious now.
“He could still try to connect the dots outside of this event.” Allen considered that for a moment.
“If he does, we’ll deal with it when the time comes.
For now, I don’t think he’ll push it.
He’s more confused than anything else.” “Still…” Jane said, her voice trailing off in thought.
“It’s risky.
If he gets too close to the truth-” “He won’t,” Allen interrupted, his tone firm.
“He’s got nothing concrete.
Just a theory and some similarities in fighting style.
That’s not enough.” The girls seemed to relax slightly at his words.
They trusted Allen’s judgment, but the idea of someone as sharp as Elio sniffing around was enough to make anyone nervous.
Changing the subject, Zoe grinned and said, “So, you’re really embracing this young master thing, huh?
Handling investors, thinking ahead, making sure everything’s airtight…” Allen rolled his eyes playfully.
“It’s called survival.
Besides, someone has to make sure things don’t go sideways.” The girls laughed, their earlier tension easing as the conversation flowed back to lighter topics.
Allen took another sip of his champagne, enjoying the brief reprieve from investors and Elio’s unsettling questions.
Vivian leaned in, a curious glint in her eyes.
“Hey, did Sophia come to you yet?
I saw her earlier, looking drunk.” Jane nodded, crossing her arms.
“Yeah, I saw a security guard escort her to Mr.
Bell.
She didn’t look too happy about it.” Larissa added with a shrug, “And Mr.
Bell didn’t look thrilled either.
I mean, who would be?
He was talking to some high-profile guests, and then-bam-a security guy showed up with a drunk woman in tow.” Zoe chuckled softly.
“He left before the party was even over.
Guess he didn’t want to risk any more awkward moments.” Shea shook her head, a small smile on her lips.
“At least she didn’t jackpot or cause a scene.
That would’ve been a complete disaster.” Allen set his glass down, exhaling slowly.
“At least it’s over.
But…” He paused, the memory of his earlier encounter with Sophia surfacing.
“She did come to me before all that.
Same old story-blabbing about the past and wanting to get back together.” The girls exchanged knowing glances, their expressions ranging from amusement to mild annoyance.
But it was Larissa who spoke first.
“She never gives up, does she?” Allen shrugged, leaning back against the bar.
“It’s not surprising.
But she mentioned something that stuck with me.” Jane raised an eyebrow.
“What did she say?” Allen glanced around briefly before answering, as if weighing his words.
“She said the reason she broke up with me was because she didn’t see a future with me.
And… I hate to admit it, but yeah, it’s understandable.
Back then, I had nothing.
Just a poor gamer with no family, no connections.
I was practically invisible.” A brief silence fell over the group as Allen’s words sank in.
He wasn’t bitter-just honest.
He’d accepted the reality of those years, but that didn’t make it any less painful to recall.
