Chapter 1342: Why Doesn’t It Work?
Chapter 1342: Why Doesn’t It Work?
Villain Ch 1342.
Why Doesn’t It Work?
The thought came unbidden but felt strangely comforting.
If she was going down, she wouldn’t be the only one.
And she already knew who her target would be: Mr.
Bell.
Her fingers moved swiftly, unlocking her phone and scrolling through old messages.
There they were-all the texts and chat logs between her and Mr.
Bell.
Invitations to dinner, lunch, coffee.
Offers to take her home after long days at the agency.
Individually, they seemed harmless enough.
But taken together?
They painted a very different picture.
A picture that suggested their relationship might have been more than just professional.
Sophia smirked to herself, the bitterness in her chest easing slightly as her plan began to take shape.
‘It was you who brought me to that party, Mr.
Bell.
You who left me to fend for myself while you schmoozed with investors.
So, really, this isn’t my fault.
It’s yours.’ She tapped through her gallery, methodically taking screenshots of every incriminating message.
Not explicit enough to ruin her, but just damning enough to make Mr.
Bell sweat.
She leaned back in her chair, satisfied.
She knew his wife was pregnant with their second child.
What would happen if these messages found their way to her?
She could only imagine the chaos it would cause.
“I don’t like someone who was once mine running away from my grasp,” Sophia murmured, her voice cold and low.

She glanced at the cupid in her hand, then set it back down in the box.
It didn’t matter if she was fired from this agency.
She’d make sure Mr.
Bell regretted underestimating her.
Opening her messaging app, she typed out a text to Mr.
Bell.
Sophia: We need to meet.
One last time.
There are some things we need to discuss.
She stared at the message for a moment, her thumb hovering over the send button.
Then she hit it, a grim satisfaction settling over her as the message was delivered.
Mr.
Bell responded quicker than she expected.
Bell: Fine.
Meet me at the café near the agency in an hour.
Don’t be late.
Sophia smiled to herself.
Oh, I won’t be late, she thought, grabbing her coat and her bag.
She didn’t bother taking the box of desk items with her.
That could wait.
Right now, she had more pressing matters to deal with.
The café was bustling when she arrived, the low hum of conversation filling the air.
Sophia spotted Mr.
Bell sitting at a corner table, his expression already sour.
She made her way over, her heels clicking against the tiled floor.
“You look like you’ve had better days,” she said sweetly, sliding into the chair across from him.
“I don’t have time for games, Sophia,” Mr.
Bell snapped, his tone clipped.
“What do you want?” Sophia leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms.
“Relax.
I just wanted to talk.
Clear the air.” Mr.
Bell raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical.
“Clear the air?
Really?
After the stunt you pulled last night?” Sophia’s smile didn’t falter.
“You mean after you abandoned me at the party?
You know, the one you invited me to in the first place?
I was under the impression we were there as a team.” “We were there as professionals,” Mr.
Bell shot back.
“And you failed to act like one.” Sophia tilted her head, feigning innocence.
“Did I?
Or did you set me up to fail?
Leaving me alone in a room full of people I didn’t know, while you went off to kiss up to investors?” Mr.
Bell’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t respond immediately.
Sophia took the opportunity to lean forward, lowering her voice.
“You know, I’ve been going through our old messages.
It’s interesting, isn’t it?
All those dinners, all those times you offered me a ride home… It paints quite the picture.” His eyes narrowed.
“What are you getting at?” Sophia shrugged, her smile widening.
“I’m just saying, if someone were to take a look at those messages, they might get the wrong idea.
Especially someone like… your wife.” Mr.
Bell’s face darkened, his fists clenching on the table.
“You wouldn’t.” Sophia raised an eyebrow.
“Wouldn’t I?
After last night, I’d say I have every reason to.
Unless, of course, we can come to an understanding.” “What do you want?” he asked through gritted teeth.
Sophia leaned back, her expression smug.
“It’s simple.
I want my contract reinstated.
And maybe a promotion.
You know, for all the hard work I’ve done for this agency.” Mr.
Bell stared at her for a long moment, his face a mask of barely contained anger.
Finally, he exhaled sharply, his shoulders slumping.
“Fine.
I’ll see what I can do.” Sophia’s smile turned genuine for the first time all day.
“Good.
I knew you’d see the reason.” A sense of triumph washed over her.
She had won this round.
For now.
Sophia walked out of the café, her heels clicking confidently against the pavement as she made her way down the bustling street.
‘See?
I’m a clever, smart girl,’ she thought, her lips curving into a self-satisfied smile.
She reached into her bag, pulling out her phone, and stared at the screen coldly.
Her fingers hovered over the messages she’d saved-screenshots of every damning detail about Mr.
Bell and her interactions with him.
‘One down, she mused.
Now onto the next.’ Her thoughts turned to Darren and Liam, a sharp frown marring her otherwise flawless expression.
‘Those two…’ She felt the anger boiling up again, the betrayal cutting deep.
Darren and Liam had been part of her plan once, loyal to her-or so she had thought.
But now?
They had gone behind her back, sharing secrets with James and Noah.
The thought made her stomach churn.
‘How could they?’ she thought bitterly.
‘How could they sell me out like that?’ Her nails tapped against the phone screen as she considered her options.
She wasn’t entirely sure what they had told James and Noah, but the mere fact that they had talked at all was enough to enrage her.
Sophia took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions.
‘Fine.
They want to play games?
I’ll make sure they regret it.
They’ll wish they’d never crossed me.’ Sophia tucked her phone away and stopped at a nearby boutique window.
The glittering dresses and designer handbags inside did little to lift her spirits, but they gave her a moment to think.
She crossed her arms, staring at her reflection in the glass.
‘One thing I don’t understand…’ The thought came unbidden, a whisper in the back of her mind.
She frowned, her gaze hardening as she stared at herself.
‘I can play with anyone.
Darren, Liam, Mr.
Bell… I can twist them around my finger.
So why doesn’t it work on Allen?’ CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
