Chapter 1359: Forced Marriage?
Chapter 1359: Forced Marriage?
Villain Ch 1359.
Forced Marriage?
“She disappeared,” Bella said flatly, her eyes scanning the space where the girl had been.
“And the formation’s gone too.
That’s… not normal.” “None of this is normal,” Larissa muttered, folding her arms.
“But what did she mean?
‘I don’t want to marry him’?
Who was she talking about?” “No clue,” Shea said, her tone sharp.
“But whoever it was, she clearly wasn’t a fan.” Alice furrowed her brow, stepping closer to the now-empty space.
“It sounded like she was being forced into it,” she said, her voice quieter than usual.
“Like… she didn’t have a choice.” Allen rubbed the back of his neck, his thoughts spinning.
“And she said, ‘I’m a human too.’ Like someone didn’t think she was human?
What does that even mean?” “Maybe it’s symbolic,” Jane suggested with a shrug.
“You know, like those tragic NPCs in games who talk about how they’re more than just code or whatever.” “Or maybe,” Zoe said, her tone dripping with sarcasm, “she’s just a ghost with baggage.” “Real helpful, Zoe,” Allen muttered, his eyes narrowing as he studied the floor.
Something wasn’t sitting right with him.
The girl’s words, the way she shimmered before disappearing-it all felt too deliberate to be random.
“Do you think she was real?” Larissa asked, her voice uncharacteristically soft.
“I don’t know,” Allen admitted.
“But whoever-or whatever-she was, she wanted us to hear that.
There’s a reason she said those things.” “Great,” Bella said, her voice dry.
“So now we’ve got cryptic ghost messages to go with the horny undead.
Best day ever.” “Shh,” Allen said suddenly, holding up a hand.
His eyes caught a faint glimmer on the floor where the girl had been.
He crouched down, brushing away some of the dust and debris.
Beneath it, something faintly glowed, its light dim but steady.
“What is it?” Alice asked, leaning over his shoulder.
Allen carefully picked up a small piece of paper, its edges frayed and worn.
The glow faded as soon as it left the ground, leaving behind what looked like an old diary page.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
A familiar system chime echoed in his ears.
[You got the Trapped Pure Maiden’s Diary!] The notification floated in the corner of his vision, and the group instantly gathered around him, their curiosity piqued.
“Pure maiden?” Zoe snorted, leaning over to get a better look.
“She moaned that loud, and she’s supposed to be a maiden?
Yeah, sure.” Shea raised a hand, her expression calm but tinged with exasperation.
“We don’t know her reason.
Don’t jump to conclusions.” “Fair point,” Zoe admitted, smirking.
“But still, the whole ‘pure maiden’ thing feels like a stretch.
What kind of maiden gets caught up in magic formations like that?” “Can we not turn this into a debate about her virtue?” Allen interrupted, his tone sharp.
“Let’s see what’s in here.” He carefully unfolded the page, the faded handwriting coming into view. [Diary of the Trapped Pure Maiden] [I was chosen from birth for this fate, they said.
A sacred duty, they called it.
But for me, it’s nothing but a prison.
Since I turned eighteen, they’ve kept me here, bound by these chains and magic.
It’s been two years of this so-called purification, all to prepare me to marry the Great Lord.
I don’t want this!
I’ve heard the stories about him-how evil and cruel he is.
I’m just a girl.
I want to live, to be free, to see the world beyond this cursed place.
If anyone finds this, please help.
I want to get out of this village!] The room fell into a heavy silence as Allen finished reading.
“Ew,” Vivian finally said, breaking the quiet.
“Forced marriage?
That’s just gross.” “Agreed,” Larissa said, folding her arms.
“And this whole ‘purification’ thing?
Creepy as hell.” Shea frowned, her gaze fixed on the spot where the girl had vanished.
“So she’s been trapped here for two years?
That’s… messed up.” “Wait,” Zoe said, holding up a hand.
“She’s being purified just to marry some Great Lord?
Who even is this guy?
And why is he forcing maidens to marry him?
This is giving me major villain vibes.” “Major?” Jane quipped, her tone dry.
“More like a textbook villain.
Evil overlord, pure maiden, cursed village-it’s practically a cliché.” Allen’s brow furrowed as he stared at the diary page.
“It’s not just a cliché.
It’s real to her.
Whoever she was, she didn’t want this.
And if she’s asking for help, then… maybe we’re supposed to do something.” “Like what?” Bella asked, her voice tinged with skepticism.
“She’s gone now.
The formation’s gone.
What are we supposed to do?
Fight this so-called Great Lord?” “Maybe,” Allen said, his voice firm.
“If he’s behind all this, he’s the problem.
And if he’s forcing people into this kind of life, he needs to be stopped.” Alice tilted her head, her expression thoughtful.
“But we don’t know where he is.
Or even if this village is still under his control.
This could all be a leftover memory, something from the past.” “Or it could still be happening,” Shea countered.
“The system gave us this diary for a reason.
There’s a connection here-we just have to find it.” “Great,” Zoe said with a sigh.
“So now we’re on a rescue mission for a ghost maiden who might not even be real.
Love that for us.” “Nobody said this would be easy,” Allen replied, slipping the diary page into his inventory.
“But if there’s even a chance we can help her-or stop this Great Lord-then we have to try.” He stepped forward, his resolve clear, but before he could take another step, a hand gripped his shoulder.
Allen turned to find Jane standing there, her grin wide and full of mischief.
“What is it, Jane?” he asked, narrowing his eyes.
“I just stopped the Great Lord,” Jane said, her voice dripping with mock triumph.
It took Allen a second to register her meaning.
When it clicked, he gave her the flattest stare imaginable.
“Even though this Great Lord guy has Major Villain vibes, that doesn’t mean he’s me,” he said, his tone dry and unamused.
