Chapter 1369: Near-death Experience Chapter 1369: Near-death Experience Villain Ch 1369.
Near-death Experience The Cursed Mythic Forest, a nightmare in broad daylight.
Towering trees loomed overhead, their gnarled branches twisting unnaturally.
The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decay.
Gil adjusted his hood, scanning the area.
“This place gives me the creeps.
I swear these damn trees are whispering shit.” “That’s just your paranoia,” Elio muttered, tightening his grip on his sword.
“Or maybe it’s your sins catching up to you, Gil.” “Real funny,” Gil scoffed.
His daggers gleamed under the dappled light filtering through the canopy.
“Remind me why we’re even here?” “We need more high-tier materials to upgrade our gear, and the Mythic Forest is the best place to get them,” the priest replied, adjusting his robes.
He was already prepping a few buffs in advance.
The sorcerer sighed, twirling his staff absentmindedly.
“We should’ve brought more firepower.
There’s a reason this place is marked for top-tier players.” Elio smirked.
“That’s what makes it fun.” A guttural groan echoed through the trees.
Gil stiffened.
“Oh, you just had to say that.” The ground trembled.
The earth cracked.
From the depths of the forest, something massive emerged-a Corrupted Treant.
Its bark-like skin pulsed with a sickly green glow, patches of its body writhing with parasitic vines.
Two hollow sockets burned with eerie violet light.
Corrupted Treant <Level 180> “Alright,” Elio muttered, rolling his shoulders.
“Time to get to work.” The Treant let out a deafening roar, slamming a thick-rooted limb into the ground.
Vines shot up in response, writhing like snakes.
Gil vanished into the shadows.
“I’ll go for its weak points,” he called, his voice a whisper against the howling wind.
The priest lifted his staff.
“Protection!” A golden layer aura materialized around Elio, flickering as the Paladin charged forward.
“Let’s see what you got, big guy,” Elio taunted, his blade humming with divine energy.
He dashed forward, narrowly dodging a massive swing.

His sword connected with the Treant’s leg, sending a shockwave rippling through its body.
Bark splintered, and a deep groan of pain echoed through the forest.
Gil reappeared behind the monster, daggers flashing.
He carved into the Treant’s back, cutting through the parasitic vines that latched onto its body.
The sorcerer muttered a spell under his breath, flames gathering at his fingertips.
“Ignite Nova!” A fiery explosion engulfed the Treant’s upper body, charring part of its massive form.
It roared in fury, swinging its limb toward Gil- “Shit!” Gil barely managed to dodge, but the shockwave from the impact sent him tumbling.
“You good?” Elio shouted.
“Define ‘good,'” Gil grunted, staggering to his feet.
“We need more damage output!
Uh, when the hell are James and Noah getting here?
We can’t do this with just one ranged DPS!” Elio gritted his teeth, blocking another swing.
“Hang on!
They said they’re on the way!” Unfortunately… another roar shook the ground.
More movement from the trees.
“Oh, come on,” Gil muttered.
“Not another-” Another Treant emerged.
And another.
“Fucking fantastic,” the sorcerer groaned.
“They’re spawning in waves!” Elio raised his sword.
“Hold the line!” The battle escalated.
The Treants attacked in unison, their colossal limbs crashing into the ground, sending tremors through the battlefield.
The priest’s barrier flickered as he struggled to keep up with the damage intake.
“Shit, my mana’s draining fast!” he warned.
Gil dodged another swing but tripped on a root.
“Gil-!” Elio turned, eyes widening.
The Treant’s massive arm came down like an executioner’s blade.
But…
-Thwick.
Thwick.
Thwick!
A barrage of arrows rained from above.
The projectiles sliced through the air with deadly precision, embedding into the Treant’s core.
The monster let out a guttural groan-its HP bar plummeting to zero in an instant.
Gil blinked.
“The hell-?” More arrows zipped through the battlefield.
The second Treant barely had time to react before another volley pierced its skull.
Two figures leaped down from the canopy, landing effortlessly amidst the chaos.
Noah smirked, nocking another arrow.
“Took you guys long enough to start the party.” James adjusted his bow, cracking his neck.
“Figured we’d let you struggle for a bit.” Gil threw his arms up.
“Where the hell were you?
We’ve been getting our asses kicked!” James shrugged.
“Traffic.” “Traffic?!” Gil half shouted.
“Yeah, you know.
Dungeon mobs.
Had to clear a few packs.” Elio exhaled sharply, turning his focus back to the remaining enemies.
“Save the banter for later.
We need to clear the rest before more show up.” Noah’s eyes gleamed.
“Gladly.” The battlefield transformed in an instant.
With two expert hunters added to the fray, the tide shifted.
Arrows zipped through the air, each one finding its mark.
The Treants, once an overwhelming force, now struggled to keep up.
James activated his special skill.
“Storm Barrage”.
A dozen arrows shot out in rapid succession, each one crackling with energy.
The closest Treant’s HP plummeted.
Noah wasn’t far behind.
His Piercing Shot tore through two enemies at once, leaving gaping holes in their wooden bodies.
Elio took the opportunity to press forward.
His blade glowed with divine fury as he drove it deep into a Treant’s chest.
It let out a final, agonized groan before collapsing.
Gil leaped onto another, driving his daggers into its skull.
“Damn, this is way easier now!” The last Treant tried to flee.
But Noah put an arrow through its head before it could take a second step.
Silence fell.
The only sound was the rustling of leaves and the heavy breathing of the party.
Gil wiped his forehead.
“Remind me to never come here without proper DPS again.” Elio sheathed his sword.
“Noted.” The priest collapsed onto a rock, utterly drained.
“Holy shit, I need a nap.” Noah stretched.
“That was fun.” Gil shot him a glare.
“Oh, sure.
Let me just schedule my next near-death experience.” Elio chuckled, glancing at the loot that scattered the ground.
“At least we got what we came for.” The sorcerer let out a tired laugh.
“Yeah… totally worth it.” Gil snorted, rubbing his sore arms.
“Totally worth it my ass.
If you weren’t here throwing fireballs like it’s a damn carnival game, we’d be mulch by now.” Elio stretched, rolling his shoulders.
“That’s why we called James and Noah.
This place is crawling with giants, and frankly, I don’t feel like playing meat shield without proper cover fire.” James raised an eyebrow.
“So… why exactly were you looking for us?
I mean, yeah, this place is high-level, but it’s not like you guys couldn’t get through it without us.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
