Chapter 1417: Not Anyone’s Hero Chapter 1417: Not Anyone’s Hero Villain Ch 1417.
Not Anyone’s Hero Allen didn’t answer right away.
Because he knew.
If he said what he was really thinking, they might not agree.
This wasn’t just some random guild drama or a petty in-game rivalry.
This was real, and the consequences weren’t just losing a few levels or a raid gone wrong.
And Allen wasn’t the type to dance around the truth, but this?
This was different.
There was a fine line between helping someone and doing the fight for them.
And in this case… Allen wasn’t interested in being anyone’s hero.
He exhaled slowly, shaking his head.
“Maybe knowing where she keeps it all is the most important thing.” His voice was calm, but there was weight behind it.
The others nodded, waiting.
“But,” Allen continued, eyes flicking to Elio, “I think rather than us, it should be Liam and Darren who do that.” Red_King raised an eyebrow.
“Wait-what?” Allen leaned forward, his fingers tapping lightly against the table.
“They’re not princesses locked in a villain’s castle.
We can help them, sure.
But in the end, they have to act.
They have to fight for their own freedom.” The table went quiet.
Elio’s lips pressed together.
“I get that.
But we’ve been the ones digging into this, asking questions, connecting the dots.
It’s only fair if we do something to help them.” Allen’s eyes flicked to him.
“Help them?
Yes.
But act like knights in shining armor, rescuing them while they sit around doing nothing?
No.” Mastercraft exhaled.
“So you’re saying…?” Allen’s smirk was sharp, but his expression was unreadable.
“Let’s be real here.
What happens if we do everything for them?
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
What’s stopping them from turning it around on us?” Gil frowned.
“What do you mean?” Allen tilted his head slightly.
“She still has that video.” And there it was.
The realization that settled over them.
Red_King muttered a curse, dragging a hand through his hair.
“Shit.” Mastercraft let out a slow breath.
“Damn it.
I didn’t even think about that.” Gil rubbed his temples.
“You’re saying… if we take too much control, we become part of the problem.” Allen nodded.
“Exactly.
If they don’t step up themselves, then what happens if she flips the narrative?
What if she suddenly claims that we were interfering, that we manipulated them, that we were the ones trying to frame her?
With that video still in her pocket, she has leverage.” They couldn’t deny it.
They’d already interfered deeply in this situation.
Maybe a little too deeply.
Elio sighed, rubbing his face.
“I hate that you’re making sense right now.” Allen smirked slightly.
“That’s what I do best.” The others exchanged glances.
Because, as much as they hated to admit it… Allen was right.
Mastercraft exhaled, shaking his head.
“Man… I thought this would be simpler.
Like, we get the proof, we expose her, done.
But now…” “Now it’s complicated,” Gil finished.
Red_King scoffed, leaning back in his seat.
“No, it’s not complicated.
It’s bullshit.” He let out a frustrated sigh, shaking his head.
“We’re sitting here, knowing someone’s been framed, knowing someone’s getting screwed over, and the answer is to let them handle it?” Allen watched him, expression unreadable.
Red_King clenched his fists.
“I mean, what if they can’t?
What if they freeze?
What if she’s already broken them down so much that they can’t think straight?” Allen was silent for a moment before he finally spoke.
“Then they’re already lost.” The table went dead silent.
Gil’s jaw tightened.
“That’s… harsh.” Allen shrugged.
“It’s reality.” Mastercraft frowned.
“You really think that?” Allen leaned forward, his smirk fading into something more calculating.
“Tell me, if we fix this for them-if we wipe the slate clean-what’s stopping them from letting it happen again?” Again, Allen was right.
Red_King exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair.
“Shit, man.
That’s dark.” “But true,” Allen said smoothly.
Elio folded his arms.
“So, what, we just back off completely?” Allen shook his head.
“I didn’t say that.” Mastercraft frowned.
“Then what are you saying?” Allen’s smirk returned-cold, sharp, unapologetic.
“I’m saying we make them earn their own freedom.” Gil leaned forward.
“You mean… force them to take action?” Allen nodded.
“We guide them.
We push them in the right direction.
But we don’t do it for them.
Because if they don’t fight back themselves, then they’ll always be someone else’s puppet.
Whether it’s Sophia now, or someone else later.” The others exchanged glances.
Mastercraft sighed.
“I don’t like it… but I get it.” Gil ran a hand through his hair.
“It’s not what I expected, but… yeah.
It makes sense.” Red_King huffed.
“Man, I was really hoping we could just wreck her and be done with it.” Allen chuckled.
“Oh, we still can.
But let’s do it smart.” Elio finally exhaled, rubbing his face.
“Alright.
We make them take the first step.
If they fail… then that’s on them.” Allen smirked.
“Exactly.” Because this wasn’t about saving anyone.
This was about making sure they learned how to save themselves.
Allen leaned back, stretching his arms over the back of the booth, his smirk still lingering.
“I guess that settles everything?” His voice was casual, almost bored, like they hadn’t just been discussing the possible destruction of someone’s carefully constructed life.
“I’ll go now, then.” The others turned to him as he stood.
Allen gestured vaguely to the room.
“Some players might not like seeing me sit here with a bunch of higher-ups from the top guilds.
You know, just to make sure there are no misunderstandings in the future.” He tilted his head, lips curling slightly.
“Some might say you guys bribed me.
Or that I’m giving you guys special treatment.” Red_King snorted.
“Make sense.
The last thing we need is paranoia from the forum rats.” Mastercraft rolled his eyes.
“Yeah.
People love twisting shit, especially when it involves anyone remotely famous.” Gil chuckled, leaning back.
“Wouldn’t be the first time people started conspiracy theories over nothing.” Allen shrugged, already turning toward the stairs.
“Exactly.” But just as he was about to leave- “One more thing, Allen.” He paused, glancing over his shoulder.
