Chapter 1418: Maybe They Weren’t Worth Saving in The First Place Chapter 1418: Maybe They Weren’t Worth Saving in The First Place Villain Ch 1418.
Maybe They Weren’t Worth Saving in The First Place Elio was watching him.
Serious.
Calculated.
Allen raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah?” Elio tapped his fingers against the table before finally speaking.
“I’m surprised you want to dig this deep for Liam and Darren.” The table went quiet.
Elio continued, voice level, but laced with curiosity.
“I mean… they betrayed you once.” Gil’s brow furrowed slightly.
Red_King glanced between them, suddenly interested.
Mastercraft didn’t say anything, but Allen could see the slight shift in his posture-the way his fingers curled slightly, the way his gaze sharpened, waiting for Allen’s response.
Allen’s smirk didn’t fade, but his expression shifted just enough to become mysterious.
“Who knows?” His voice was smooth, effortless, like he was keeping some grand secret to himself.
And without another word, he turned and walked away.
Elio watched Allen’s figure disappear behind the door, his fingers tapping against the table, his mind still turning over everything that had just been said.
Who knows?
That damn line.
Allen always had a way of saying just enough to keep everyone on edge, never giving too much, never revealing his full hand.
Gil let out a long exhale and leaned back against the booth, shaking his head.
“Here we go again,” he muttered.
“Another riddle.
He never gives a straight answer, does he?” Red_King smirked, folding his arms.
“That’s what makes it fun, though, right?” He tapped a finger against his bicep, thinking.
“But I’d bet money that Allen’s fed up with Sophia too.
Maybe he also wants to get rid of her, just like we do.” Elio kept his eyes on the door, still deep in thought.
“On the other hand,” Red_King continued, shrugging, “he knows he’s no longer affected by her.
She can’t touch him.
So he’s not interested in playing the game the same way we are.” Mastercraft, who had been silent up until now, finally spoke, his voice low and thoughtful.
“Yeah, but I have to say… he’s sharp.
What he said is right.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Makes sense.” Elio’s fingers stopped tapping.
Mastercraft’s gaze flicked to him.
“On one hand, our righteous side wants to handle this, wants to do the right thing.
But on the other hand… we’ve interfered too much already.” Gil sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“Yeah… and if Liam and Darren suddenly change their minds halfway through, our good intentions could turn into a complete disaster.” Red_King’s smirk faded slightly.
“And if that happens?
We’re screwed.
They’ll drag us through the mud without a second thought.” The booth went quiet.
Because they all knew it was true.
The second they got too involved, they became a target.
Elio leaned back, pressing his fingers against his temple.
No matter how many times he thought about it, the truth remained the same-they were walking a fine line.
Too much interference and they’d be dragged into something they wouldn’t be able to get out of.
But even as his mind ran through every possible risk, another thought refused to leave him.
Allen.
The way he spoke.
The way he calculated every possibility before he even moved.
The way he sat back and let others destroy themselves rather than dirtying his own hands.
It was too similar.
Too much like him.
The Devil Emperor.
Elio exhaled slowly, dragging a hand down his face.
It wasn’t the first time he had thought about it.
Not even close.
There was just… something there.
Some undeniable connection between the way Allen operated and the way the most feared villain in the game did.
And once again, Elio couldn’t shake it off.
“Hey,” Gil’s voice cut through his thoughts.
“You good, man?” Elio blinked.
He realized they were all looking at him now.
For a second, he considered telling them.
Bringing up the thought that had been eating at him for a while now.
But no.
There was no proof.
Just a gut feeling.
“Yeah.” He exhaled sharply, waving it off.
“So what, we just sit back and let it happen?” Mastercraft shook his head.
“No.
We just do what Allen said.
We guide them.
We don’t act for them.” Gil scoffed, rubbing his forehead.
“God, this feels like babysitting.” Red_King let out a low chuckle, though there was little humor in it.
“Yeah, except babysitting kids is easier.
Kids don’t stab you in the back when things go south.” Elio tapped the table, still distracted.
His mind was half on the conversation, but half elsewhere.
‘I need to focus!’ he reminded himself.
Elio finally leaned back, arms crossing over his chest.
He tried to drag his mind into this conversation again.
“Allen isn’t wrong,” he admitted.
“We have to make them act on their own.
If they don’t fight for themselves, then this isn’t our problem.” The others nodded.
Because like it or not, this wasn’t their battle to fight alone.
And if Liam and Darren weren’t willing to stand up for themselves… Then maybe they weren’t worth saving in the first place.
Red_King leaned back, arms folded,.
“But we need to give them a little push, right?
Any suggestions for that?” Elio tilted his head, considering.
“Hmm… Well, my friend is a hacker.
As long as Liam and Darren can give me some information, I can get something to help.” Gil raised an eyebrow.
“Hacker, huh?” Elio smirked.
“A good one.
The kind that doesn’t leave a trace.” Mastercraft exhaled.
“That’s one way to do it.
But the real issue is where the hell she keeps the videos.” Gil nodded.
“Yeah, because we can’t just assume it’s only on her laptop and phone.
She’s smart.
She’s gotta have backups.” Red_King hummed.
“If they were really smart, they’d destroy them.
Just take the devices, wipe them clean, and smash them into pieces.” Mastercraft snorted.
“Yeah, and then get arrested for destruction of property?
Genius plan.” Red_King shrugged.
“Hey, I didn’t say it wasn’t illegal.” Elio sighed, rubbing his temple.
“Look, the only way this works is if Liam and Darren do it themselves.
If we touch anything, if we interfere too much, then it comes back to us.
And I’m not planning on having my name tied to this mess.” Gil frowned.
“So what, we just tell them, ‘Hey, go commit a crime, good luck’?” Red_King grinned.
“No.
We tell them to make it an incident.” The table went silent for a second.
Mastercraft raised an eyebrow.
“An incident?” Red_King nodded, his grin widening.
“Accidents happen all the time.
Water spills on a laptop.
A phone falls into a sink.
Someone accidentally wipes a hard drive clean while trying to ‘fix’ something.
If they’re smart, they’ll make it look like a natural disaster.” Elio tapped his fingers against the table, thinking it through.
It wasn’t a bad idea.
As long as Liam and Darren played it right, no one would question it.
“They need to do it on their own,” Elio said, his voice firm.
“If we interfere too much, we’re the ones getting burned.” Gil let out a slow breath.
“So… we just push them in the right direction?” Elio nodded.
“Exactly.” Mastercraft smirked.
“And if they screw it up?” Elio’s expression remained unreadable.
“Then they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS UnholyGod Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
