Chapter 1447: The Price of Being Famous
Villain Ch 1447. The Price of Being Famous
The dim, eerie glow of the Cursed Crypts flickered along the ancient stone walls. Allen and the girls sat around the grand hall of their base. They had returned from the dungeon raid, their inventories overflowing with loot, and now?
They were just chatting, letting the adrenaline of battle wear off as they lounged around their base.
The NPC vendor room stood at the far end, where a hooded merchant—a ghoulish figure with hollow eyes—stood behind a dusty wooden counter, his skeletal fingers tapping idly against the surface as he waited for them to sell their spoils.
Allen leaned against a broken pillar, his arms crossed, watching as the others cashed in their loot. His crimson gaze flickered across the room, but he barely registered the conversation happening around him.
Because— He was huffing.
Not loudly. Not dramatically. But just enough.
And the girls noticed.
Zoe, leaning casually against a pile of cursed relics, smirked. “Alright, spill. You’re thinking about something.”
Allen exhaled through his nose, clicking his tongue. “No, I’m not.”
Bella, raising an eyebrow, tilted her head at him. “You’re huffing.”
Allen didn’t respond.
Vivian chuckled, tossing a small enchanted dagger onto the merchant’s counter. “Let me guess—he wants to go to the player cities.”
Larissa glanced at him, smirking. “Oh, yeah. That’s definitely it.”
Shea let out a short laugh, stretching her arms. “Well, I mean, you could go, but…”
Jane grinned. “Yeah, and have the entire city swarm him the moment he steps foot there?”
Alice snapped her fingers dramatically. “Goldborne’s young master sighted! Everyone, rush him!”
Allen groaned, rubbing his temple. “I don’t even want to imagine it.”
Zoe grinned. “Painful, huh?”
Allen clicked his tongue, but didn’t argue.
Because they weren’t wrong.
It was crowded hours.
If he walked into any of the major cities or towns, it wouldn’t be just players shopping in the marketplace—it would be a full-blown mob of people recognizing him, either trying to talk to him, challenge him, or just hover around him like vultures.
Even if he wanted to check the market, he couldn’t.
Not without causing chaos.
Vivian grinned, tilting her head. “If you really want something from the market, we can just make one of us get it for you.”
Allen huffed again, clearly unimpressed. “Not the same.”
Bella smirked. “Or, and hear me out, we go in first, pretend we’re scouting, then you sneak in all mysterious-like.”
Larissa rolled her eyes. “Because that wouldn’t draw even more attention.”
Allen let out a long sigh, rubbing his neck. “Forget it. Not worth the trouble.”

Shea patted his shoulder with mock sympathy. “Poor Devil Emperor. Can’t even shop in peace.”
Jane laughed. “That’s the price of being famous.”
Allen ignored them, instead focusing on the loot window that appeared before him.

Zoe whistled, glancing at her own sale window. “Not bad.”
Bella grinned. “I think this was one of our better hauls.”
Vivian stretched, checking her status menu. “Yeah, we made some serious progress today.”
Jane nodded, scrolling through her character menu. “Actually, we only need a few more levels before we unlock our next class tier.”
Shea perked up. “Oh, right! What level do we need again?”
Larissa pulled up her own stats. “I think it’s 5 for the next evolution?”
Allen glanced at his level bar, which was dangerously close to the next threshold. “Yeah. We’re almost there.”
Alice grinned. “Ooooh, so that means next raid we get upgrades?”
Zoe smirked. “Hell yeah. Can’t wait.”
Bella cracked her knuckles. “We should plan the next dungeon soon. Maybe something bigger.”
Vivian grinned. “Something harder.”
Allen rolled his shoulders, shutting down his menu. “We’ll figure it out tomorrow. We’re logging out.”
The others nodded, closing their own menus.
One by one, they disappeared, logging off as their avatars faded from the crypt.
Allen was the last to go.
He took a breath, pulled up the logout menu—And clicked exit.
Reality snapped back.
Allen exhaled, blinking as the VR screen faded, his body feeling heavier as he returned to the real world.
He lifted the VR headset off his face, setting it aside.
The familiar scent of Shea’s room greeted him—a mix of faint perfume and something sweet, the warm glow of a bedside lamp casting soft shadows along the walls. The others were also logging out, each of them stretching, adjusting to reality again.
Alice yawned dramatically. “Welp, that was fun.”
Zoe chuckled, standing up. “Alright, I’m grabbing snacks. Anyone want anything?”
Vivian stretched. “Wine.”
Jane raised her hand. “Chocolate.”
Shea smirked, looking at Allen. “What about you? Or are you still grumpy about your tragic shopping situation?”
Allen exhaled, leaning back against the couch. “Not really.”
The girls stared at him.
Not just stared—flat, deadpan looks filled with pure disbelief.
Then Bella crossed her arms, tilting her head. “You’re such a liar.”
Jane smirked, raising an eyebrow. “Deny it all you want, but you’re sulking.”
Zoe let out a short chuckle, leaning against the couch. “It’s written all over your face.”
Allen sighed again, rubbing the back of his neck. “A bit.”
Truth was?
It was more than a bit.
Alice grinned like a fox, stepping forward and plopping herself onto his lap, straddling him without hesitation.
Allen didn’t even blink.
The others groaned immediately.
“Oh god, here we go again.”
Alice wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her violet eyes dancing with amusement as her fingers teased along the side of his face, brushing against his cheek with featherlight touches.
Then, in a mockingly sweet voice, she cooed, “Aw, look at him. So pitiful.”
Allen gave her a flat stare.
Alice leaned in closer, her breath warm against his ear. “You know… we could continue what we were doing before.”
