Chapter 1458: Rebooting
Villain Ch 1458. Rebooting
The breakfast, warm and comforting, slowly helped bring Allen back from the brink. His muscles, previously screaming in agony, settled into a quieter ache. Every bite brought clarity back to his exhausted mind, grounding him in reality.
Jane reached lazily across him, snatching a flaky croissant from the tray. “Honestly, Shea, your butler’s like magic.”
Shea chuckled lightly, sipping her coffee. “Sebastian knows us well enough by now. He always has something ready after nights like this.”
Bella chuckled quietly, wiping crumbs from her lips. “Yeah, it’s getting suspicious how prepared he is.”
Allen shook his head slightly, swallowing another bite of perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. “I think he’s given up hope on us ever acting like normal adults.”
Jane leaned over, grinning. “Probably safer that way.”
Breakfast passed in a hazy, comfortable blur. Soft murmurs filled the room as they ate, occasional teasing remarks blending effortlessly with gentle laughter. Despite the chaotic mess surrounding them, Allen felt genuinely content.
He’d let himself be pampered again, let himself sink into their care, even if his pride protested. And honestly, it wasn’t the worst feeling in the world.
As breakfast wound down, he leaned back against the pillows. “Okay, I think my brain is finally rebooting.”
Vivian chuckled softly, stretching her arms overhead with a satisfied groan. “You mean you can finally think again?”
Allen snorted lightly. “Barely, but yes.”
Larissa eyed him curiously from across the bed. “How’s your legs now?”
Allen frowned slightly, glancing down at his lower body beneath the tangled sheets. “Let’s find out.”
With a hesitant exhale, he carefully swung his legs over the edge of the bed. He braced himself for the usual burst of agony, but instead, found only a dull, manageable ache. Slowly, tentatively, he put weight on his feet, muscles trembling but surprisingly obedient. He stood cautiously, wobbling slightly, his balance still off but holding.
“Wow,” Bella teased gently from her spot. “You’re actually upright.”
Allen huffed out a short laugh, relief easing the tension from his shoulders. “Barely. But at least my legs don’t feel like jelly anymore.”
Alice propped herself up lazily, smiling softly. “Progress is progress.”
He nodded slowly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah. Though, there’s no way I’m getting home alone like this.”
Shea waved a hand dismissively, already reaching for her phone again. “Relax. I’ll have my driver take you home. You just focus on recovering.”
Allen gave her a grateful nod. “You’re a lifesaver.”
She smirked back at him, eyes glinting playfully. “Don’t get used to it.”
Jane chuckled softly. “Yeah, Shea’s generosity usually has an expiration date.”
Shea stuck out her tongue at Jane but didn’t deny it, instead picking up her phone to message her driver.
He ran a hand through his messy hair, sighing heavily again. “I definitely need a shower. I’m pretty sure I smell terrible.”
Larissa sniffed the air dramatically, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “You’re not wrong.”
Allen groaned softly. “Gee, thanks.”
Shea laughed, tapping away at her phone. “Alright, relax. Go take a bath. You know where everything is.”
Allen glanced toward Shea’s bathroom door, nodding in agreement. “Yeah. I think I will.”
Vivian stretched lazily, yawning. “You go first. We’ll figure out our turn afterward.”

Allen pushed himself slowly to his feet, carefully testing his balance. Despite his caution, the first few steps felt awkward, his thighs protesting mildly. It was manageable, though—way better than he’d feared. He navigated carefully through the scattered clothes, stepping over discarded shirts, skirts, and pants.
The bathroom door clicked shut behind him, and silence enveloped him briefly. For a moment, he just stood there, eyes closed, breathing in the clean scent of Shea’s soap and shampoo mingled with the slight floral fragrance lingering in the air. It was comforting, familiar, calming.
Allen turned the tap, warm water pouring into the bathtub, steam curling lazily upward, fogging the mirror slightly. He stepped into the water slowly, muscles relaxing almost immediately as heat seeped into his aching body.
He sank deeper. “God, that feels good,” he muttered to himself, closing his eyes as he settled back against the tub. His senses sharpened in the quiet solitude—the soft drip of water echoing off the tiled walls, the faint scent of lavender and sandalwood drifting from Shea’s favorite bath oils. He breathed deeply, savoring the quiet moment.
He let himself drift, floating between sleep and wakefulness, the only sounds the gentle drip of water from his fingertips and the muted, distant laughter of the girls in the bedroom beyond.
Eventually, the water cooled slightly, nudging him reluctantly from his comfortable daze. Allen sighed, pulling himself upright and stepping carefully out onto the plush bath mat. Toweling himself dry, he glanced toward the folded clothes Shea had left for him—a fresh black T-shirt and soft sweatpants. Comfortable, simple, and exactly his style. Shea definitely knew his preferences by now.
Dressed and feeling considerably better, Allen stepped back into the bedroom. The girls had cleaned up slightly, though the room still had the unmistakable air of chaotic aftermath. The curtains had been drawn back, allowing more sunlight to stream inside.
Shea, now dressed in a casual shirt and shorts, smiled warmly as she saw him. “Feeling better?”
Allen nodded, running fingers through his damp hair. “Yeah. The bath definitely helped.”
Zoe grinned, sitting cross-legged on the newly straightened bed. “Well, at least you don’t look half-dead anymore.”
“Thanks,” Allen said dryly, rolling his eyes. “Your concern is touching.”
Bella chuckled softly, pulling on a fresh hoodie. “Sebastian texted. The car’s ready outside. He’s waiting to drive you back.”
Allen nodded, feeling a mixture of gratitude and embarrassment. “Right. I guess I should get going, then.”
Alice sighed dramatically, her eyes sparkling with mock sadness. “Aww, leaving us so soon?”
Allen chuckled softly, stepping closer to brush a soft kiss on her forehead. “I think I’ve overstayed enough.”
Zoe waved dismissively, smiling warmly. “Don’t worry about it. We had fun.”
Larissa leaned against the wall, arms crossed, smirking playfully. “Yeah. Next time we’ll try not to completely destroy your legs.”
Allen winced slightly, but he was smiling. “I’d appreciate that.”
Shea stepped forward, gently wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a soft hug. “Take care, okay? Text us when you get home.”
Allen returned the hug, warmth flooding his chest. “Will do.”
