Chapter 1460: My Worth
Villain Ch 1460. My Worth
Allen frowned slightly, recalling Zoe’s teasing nature, her constant playful confidence around him and the others. It was hard to picture her as anything but the bold young woman he’d come to adore.
“But now,” Sebastian said, a hint of pride in his voice, “Miss Zoe seems more… herself. Happier, more confident, as though she has found the courage to step out of her mother’s shadow. To be honest, I haven’t seen her this carefree since she was a child.”
Allen stared thoughtfully out the window, his heart twisting gently at Sebastian’s words. He’d never realized the depth of their struggles. All this time, he’d thought they were just teasing him, indulging in playful intimacy.
“They both seem brighter now,” Sebastian concluded warmly, his voice filled with quiet sincerity. “It’s good to see. And I suspect it has a great deal to do with you, Mr. Goldborne.”
Allen’s chest tightened slightly. Was he truly responsible for such profound changes? Was it possible he’d unknowingly given them something just as important as they’d given him?
He exhaled slowly, leaning his head back against the leather seat, closing his eyes briefly. “I never realized… I had that kind of impact.”
Sebastian smiled softly, the expression warm and comforting. “Sometimes we don’t see our own worth clearly, sir. We need others to reflect it back at us.”
Allen chuckled softly, shaking his head. “That sounds like something Shea would say.”
Sebastian smiled again, eyes crinkling gently at the edges. “She does have her wise moments, sir. Though she’d never openly admit it.”
Allen laughed quietly, feeling lighter now, the last of his emotional tension slipping away. “That’s true.”
Sebastian paused briefly, as though carefully choosing his next words. “You’ve given them both something precious, Mr. Goldborne. Perhaps without even realizing it.”
Allen smiled faintly, his heart settling gently. “I think… they’ve given me something pretty precious too.”
Sebastian nodded, satisfied. “Then it’s mutual. The best kind of relationship.”
Allen let his gaze drift back to the window, watching the city move past, his heart calm for the first time in ages. He still didn’t fully understand how he’d gotten here—surrounded by people who genuinely cared, filling his life with warmth he’d long given up hoping for. But it was real. He could feel it, deep in his bones.
His mind wandered back to those brief glimpses of a happy family he saw on the streets, those elusive dreams he’d secretly harbored as a kid. Back then, he’d never dared to dream that anything like this was possible.
But this—this was more than he’d ever hoped for. More than he’d dared imagine.
And even though part of him questioned whether he truly deserved it, he knew now he didn’t have to carry that doubt alone. The girls wouldn’t let him. And perhaps—just perhaps—that was exactly how it was meant to be.
Allen felt a warm, quiet contentment settle in his chest as the luxury car smoothly navigated the familiar roads toward the Goldborne mansion. Time seemed to slip by effortlessly, his thoughts wrapped comfortably around the pleasant memories, making the journey back feel oddly short.
Soon enough, familiar streets came into view, sprawling gardens and ornate gates marking the approach to his mansion. Allen lazily reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, quickly tapping out a text.
Allen: I’m almost home.
Within moments, Kai’s prompt reply buzzed softly on the screen.
Kai: I will inform them to open the door for you.
Allen leaned back with a relieved sigh, his fingers brushing absently against the sleek leather seat. A soft chuckle escaped him. He never imagined feeling this comfortable returning home after a night spent somewhere else—especially after last night’s craziness—but here he was, relaxed and at ease.
The massive iron gates swung open gracefully as the car approached, wheels crunching softly over the meticulously maintained driveway. As they rolled inside, Allen noticed another sleek black car he didn’t recognize gliding slowly from the mansion entrance toward the gate, passing him quietly. He stared curiously, brow slightly furrowed, wondering who it could’ve been.
The car pulled up to the mansion’s grand entrance and gently stopped. Within seconds, Kai appeared at the car door, composed as always, dressed in his impeccably tailored suit.
Sebastian quickly exited the driver’s seat and opened Allen’s door, offering a polite nod. “We have arrived, Mr. Goldborne.”
Allen smiled warmly, stepping carefully out onto the smooth stone driveway. “Thanks, Sebastian. I appreciate everything.”
Sebastian bowed slightly, a subtle smile on his lips. “Always a pleasure, sir.”
Kai immediately approached, greeting him politely. “Good morning, sir.”

Allen stretched slightly, hiding a wince as his thighs protested slightly. “Morning, Kai.” He glanced back toward the now-closed gates curiously. “Who was visiting? I saw a car leaving.”
Kai inclined his head respectfully, a small smile twitching at the corners of his mouth. “A guest whom you might recognize, sir.”
Allen raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious now. “Is that so?”
Kai glanced briefly at the small gym bag Allen carried, reaching out politely. “Allow me to take your bag, sir.”
“No!” Allen quickly pulled it away, probably a bit too sharply, causing Kai to raise an eyebrow slightly in confusion. Allen cleared his throat, trying to recover his dignity. “I—uh, I’ll handle it. It’s fine.”
The truth was, there were certain… items from the lingerie shop stashed away discreetly inside the bag. Items he absolutely didn’t need Kai—or anyone else—to discover. His cheeks warmed just thinking about it.
Kai blinked slowly, his professional composure fully restored. “Very well, sir.”
“Anyway,” Allen quickly changed the subject, shifting the bag to his other hand as they walked together toward the mansion’s grand doors. “Where is everyone?”
“They are currently in the dining room,” Kai explained calmly. “Awaiting your arrival.”
Allen frowned slightly. “Dining room? Didn’t they already have breakfast?”
“We have a guest, sir,” Kai gently reminded him, a hint of amusement creeping back into his otherwise polite voice.
“Oh, right.” Allen sighed softly, silently kicking himself for being so distracted. “Of course.”
