Chapter 1467: Sore Legs and Mental Chaos
Villain Ch 1467. Sore Legs and Mental Chaos
Two hours later, Allen leaned back in his chair, arms stretching high above his head as his spine popped in half a dozen satisfying cracks. He let out a groan that sounded entirely too dramatic for someone who’d just finished writing and not, say, run a triathlon.
“Done,” he muttered, blinking at the screen like it had personally offended him.
Three chapters. Clean dialogue. Solid pacing. A cliffhanger that would definitely get his Discourd server screaming at him. Not bad for someone running on sore legs and mental chaos.
He stood slowly, testing his body’s betrayal level. And to his surprise—it wasn’t that bad. The ache had faded to a dull stiffness. Manageable. Not great, but hey, he didn’t feel like a collapsing scarecrow anymore.
“Guess that cream and massage gun combo actually worked,” he mumbled, rolling his shoulders. “Or maybe my body finally gave up and decided to stop fighting.”
He stretched one leg out, then the other. Still sore, but bearable.
“Alright,” he said to the empty room. “Break time.”
A light lunch sounded good. Nothing heavy. Maybe something he could eat quickly before jumping into Hell’s Gate. There were things to check, dailies to do, messages to catch up on. Probably some chaos to sort through in his guild. The usual Devil Emperor things.
He picked up his phone out of habit, ready to shoot a message to the girls—just a simple, “Hey, I’ll be online after lunch,” type of thing.
But before he could even swipe open their chat, another name popped up on his notifications.
Gerry.
Allen stared at it.
Gerry: Hey, man. Still alive? Are you in the hospital? Tell me which one. Lol.
Allen let out a sharp breath that was half a scoff, half a tired laugh. He gave the screen a flat stare and muttered, “Right… of course he would think that.”
He tapped out his reply.
Allen: I’m still alive. Thanks for worrying about me. My legs are aching, but I can still walk.
He hit send with a dry smile, shaking his head.
A knock came at the door a few seconds later—precise, polite, very much Kai.
Allen turned. “Come in.”
Kai stepped inside, dressed in his usual pristine butler uniform, holding a small tablet in one hand. “Apologies for the interruption, sir. Just a quick update.”
Allen nodded, waving him in.
“Miss Emma’s private class is still ongoing,” Kai said smoothly. “It appears she will be running late. As for Mr. Jordan, he stepped out earlier for an extended meeting. He is not expected to return until dinner.”
Allen raised an eyebrow. “So the house is mine for now?”
Kai smiled politely. “In a manner of speaking, yes.”
There was a pause. Kai glanced toward the desk. “Would you like your lunch delivered here, sir?”
Allen considered it, then gave a small nod. “Yeah. That’d be perfect. Just a light meal. Something I won’t fall asleep from.”
“Understood,” Kai said, nodding. “I will have it brought up shortly.”
“Thanks, Kai.”
The butler turned to leave, then paused at the door, glancing back. “Sir?”

“Yeah?”
Kai’s expression remained calm, but there was a faint flicker of amusement in his eyes. “If you require any… additional cooling cream, there are fresh packs in the lower fridge drawer.”
Allen narrowed his eyes, half amused, half offended. “Okay, wait—how did you even know I needed it?”
Kai didn’t miss a beat. He gestured subtly toward the massage gun and open tube of cream still sitting on the bed like exhibits in a courtroom. “Let’s just say I noticed the evidence.”
Allen winced. “Touche.”
Kai’s tone remained perfectly even. “Also, you were wincing a few times when you arrived. Your gait was slightly off. And I am familiar with your usual post-gym posture. Today’s version had… extra struggle.”
Allen let out a small groan and dragged a hand over his face. “You’re too sharp for your own good.”
“I do my best, sir,” Kai said without a hint of smugness, which only made it worse.
Then, as if delivering another casual update, Kai added, “We also have a foot massager available. I could bring it up for you if you like. You can eat while using it, or activate it afterward. Just call when you’re finished.”
Allen blinked. “We… have a foot massager?”
“It was purchased last year after one of Mr. Jordan’s international trips,” Kai said smoothly. “He found it effective for post-flight recovery. I assumed it would also suit your current situation.”
Allen paused. He wanted to protest, to maintain the last scrap of his pride, but honestly? That sounded really nice.
“…Okay,” he muttered.
Kai nodded like a general acknowledging a strategic move. “Great. I’ll return shortly with your lunch.”
He exited with quiet efficiency, and the room settled again into that soft hum of silence.
Allen stared at the door for a second longer, then looked back at his bed.
God, he was getting spoiled.
Before he could fall back onto the mattress, his phone buzzed and rang—hard and loud.
Gerry.
Allen’s eyebrows lifted. Gerry never called unless it was to wake him up for gym day or harass him about skipping cardio. But he knew what he wanted to say.
“…Here we go,” Allen muttered.
He picked up, already bracing himself. “Yo.”
Gerry’s voice came in hot. “DUDE. Tell me you’re not in the ER.”
Allen sighed, dryly. “I’m not in the ER.”
“ICU?”
“No.”
Gerry let out a dramatic breath. “Because I saw your chat and thought, ‘This man is typing from a hospital bed with a full leg cast.'”
Allen rolled his eyes, grinning despite himself. “I said I could still walk.”
“Yeah, but can you flex?”
Allen opened his mouth to retort, but paused. “…Touche.”
Gerry laughed like he just won a raid boss drop. “Bro, what did you do last night? I need the details.”
Allen leaned back on the pillows and stared at the ceiling. “You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you.”
“Try me,” Gerry said.
