Chapter 1482: Battle Lust
Villain Ch 1482. Battle Lust
“About damn time,” Allen growled, eyes locked onto his Shade, its grotesque form twitching uncontrollably, stunned from the broken spell. His grip tightened around his sword, knuckles white, adrenaline burning through his body hotter than the scorching attacks he’d barely avoided earlier.
The Shade shrieked again—this time, weaker, vulnerable, almost fearful. But Allen didn’t feel pity; he felt fury. He lunged forward without hesitation, shadows swirling around him as he activated Demonic Lance. The dark energy spear shot forth, piercing the monster’s chest deeply, shattering chunks of twisted armor, sending fragments spiraling violently across the floor.
“Not so tough now, are you?” Allen snarled, pressing forward, blade flashing rapidly. Each slash and thrust carved deep, visible wounds into the Shade’s grotesque frame. Its movements grew sluggish, erratic, and desperate.
Nearby, Zoe laughed harshly, relief and battle-lust mixing. “Ha! Now they actually bleed!”
Bella’s laughter joined hers. “Finally, something satisfying!”
Allen focused completely on his enemy, ignoring the distant chatter. The Shade was backing away now, halberd-arm raised defensively, as if finally recognizing Allen as a genuine threat. But Allen didn’t allow it space to breathe.
He lunged again, ducking beneath a frantic swing of its flail-arm, countering swiftly with Telekinesis Blast. The strike sent the Shade slamming brutally into a cracked pillar, dust and debris exploding outward from the impact. Allen dashed forward, boots thundering on stone, the momentum of combat making his pulse pound violently in his ears.
But even wounded, the Shade roared in furious defiance, lunging from the debris in a desperate last effort, blades glinting with lethal intent. Allen parried with expert precision, sparks flying violently from each clash. The screech of metal scraping echoed painfully around them, the vibration jolting through his bones with each deflection.
“You think you’re angry?” Allen shouted over the noise, eyes blazing. “You haven’t seen anything yet!”
Allen moved fluidly, launching into a vicious offensive. He weaved around every counterattack, barely feeling the sting of heated metal scraping past him, ignoring minor burns from close calls, eyes locked with deadly determination on his opponent. Every strike he landed sent another chunk of shadow and metal scattering, each impact ringing satisfyingly through his weapon into his palms.
He twisted around, slamming his blade upward sharply. “Dark Storm!”
A violent cyclone of shadow erupted around the Shade, shredding through metal and armor relentlessly. The creature staggered, howling in agony, its form visibly weakening.
But still, it fought, driven by madness rather than sense, halberd swinging blindly, desperately. Allen gritted his teeth, blocking another powerful strike. The impact shuddered painfully through his muscles, sending jolts of sharp pain along his arms. Yet he ignored it, forcing himself to remain steady.
“Stubborn bastard,” Allen growled. “Fine, let’s end this!”
Channeling his rage and adrenaline, Allen raised his sword high. The weapon ignited fiercely with shadow-flame, darkness spilling from the blade like liquid fire. The air around him crackled ominously, the temperature dropping rapidly, his power coiling like a spring under tension.
“Hellfire Rain!” Allen roared, slamming the blade downward.
Dark, blazing meteors cascaded violently onto the Shade, scorching through its twisted armor, flames consuming it mercilessly. The creature screamed, flailing wildly, but Allen didn’t relent, pouring every ounce of fury and strength into the attack. He could feel the heat burn across his own skin, feel the pressure and the strain of controlling so much dark magic at once, but he didn’t stop.
The Shade’s limbs shattered, its grotesque body buckling under the relentless assault. Black smoke poured out in thick, choking waves as it collapsed slowly to its knees, shrieking weakly, defiance fading rapidly into fear.
Allen stepped forward, breathing heavily, his blade poised with lethal purpose. “You wasted enough of my time.”
With ruthless precision, he drove his sword straight through the creature’s head. The monster gave one final, rattling scream, its metallic voice echoing hauntingly through the room before dissolving into nothingness.
For a moment, Allen stood perfectly still, breathing ragged, sweat stinging his eyes, heartbeat pounding thunderously. The echoes of battle slowly faded into silence, leaving only the sound of his heavy breathing and the quiet crackle of lingering magical energy. He tightened his grip on his blade, knuckles white as he stared at the empty space where the Shade had stood moments before.
His muscles trembled from exhaustion, the adrenaline gradually leaving his veins, making room for the deep ache of a hard-fought battle. The faint scent of burnt metal and ozone lingered in the air, mixed with the dusty scent of shattered stone and scorched earth. He blinked away the stinging sweat, letting out a slow breath as the reality of victory settled over him.
Then, with a familiar chime, the system notification flashed across his vision, golden letters glowing brightly, confirming the boss’s defeat.
[Congratulations! You have slain the boss monster: Overlord Shade (Lv. 235)]
A sudden wave of relief washed over him, powerful and deeply satisfying. He allowed himself a small smile as another alert followed swiftly behind, glowing warmly in his HUD:

Allen exhaled again, flexing his fingers experimentally. He felt stronger already, the added power surging beneath his skin, an undeniable energy that hummed through every fiber of his being. This was exactly the boost he needed. His lips curled upward into a satisfied smirk.
“Finally got your level-up, huh?” Zoe teased, walking toward him with a tired grin. Her hair was disheveled, and there were smudges of dirt on her face, but her eyes sparkled triumphantly.
“Looks like it,” Allen replied casually, though he couldn’t quite hide the pleased tone in his voice.
