Villain Ch 1489. Trial of Dominance [Part 1] (Dragon Bonus)
[Timer Start: 10:00]
No warmup.
No cutscene.
The first elite charged him like a missile.
[Elite: Dire Ravager Lv. 240]
A beast of sinew and steel, its dual axes gleamed with a wicked edge. Allen barely had time to sidestep as the axes cleaved through the space he’d occupied a heartbeat before. The wind from the swing was sharp, carrying the metallic tang of blood and rust.
“Alright,” Allen muttered, rolling his shoulders. “Let’s dance.”
He retaliated with Demonic Lance, summoning a spear of dark energy that he hurled at the Ravager’s chest. The beast staggered, a guttural snarl escaping its maw. But as Allen prepared to follow up, he noticed the Ravager’s stance shifting, its eyes narrowing with a newfound calculation.
[System Alert: Enemy Adaptation in Progress]
The Ravager’s next charge was erratic, unpredictable. It had learned from their brief exchange.
“Learning AI, huh?” Allen smirked. “Let’s see how well you adapt.”
He cast Dark Storm, enveloping the area in a maelstrom of shadowy tendrils that lashed out at the Ravager. The beast roared, its movements hindered by the onslaught. Seizing the moment, Allen used Telekinesis to grip a loose chunk of stone from the fragmented platform and hurled it at the Ravager, sending it crashing into a jagged outcrop.
[Elite 1 Defeated – 9:17 Remaining]
The ground trembled as two more figures emerged from the shadows.
[Elite: Flame-Touched Reaper Lv. 242]
[Elite: Mirror Revenant Lv. 243]
The Reaper’s form was wreathed in ethereal flames, casting an orange glow that distorted the air around it. The Revenant, a spectral entity, mirrored Allen’s stance, its hollow eyes reflecting his own.
“Two against one? Hardly seems fair,” Allen quipped, though his muscles coiled in anticipation.
The Reaper struck first, unleashing a wave of scorching fire. Allen felt the heat sear his skin, the scent of singed fabric assaulting his nostrils. He retaliated with [Hellfire Rain], summoning a barrage of dark flames from above. The Reaper shrieked as the hellfire consumed it, leaving behind only smoldering embers.
The Revenant remained, its form flickering as it studied Allen. Then, without warning, it lunged, mimicking Allen’s own Demonic Lance. He barely managed to deflect it, the force sending vibrations up his arm.
“Copying me?” Allen growled. “Let’s see how you handle this.”
He feigned a Dark Storm cast, noting the Revenant’s immediate defensive stance. Instead, he used Telekinesis to pull the Revenant toward him, driving his blade through its core. The entity let out a haunting wail before dissolving into nothingness.
[Elite 2 and 3 Defeated – 6:31 Remaining]
A low rumble signaled the arrival of the next adversaries.
[Elite: Arcbane Golem Lv. 245]
[Elite: Fang-Twinned Assassin Lv. 246]
The Golem’s massive frame was adorned with arcane runes that pulsed with a blue light, while the Assassin was a lithe figure, dual daggers dripping with venom.
“Great,” Allen muttered. “A tank and a rogue.”
The Assassin vanished from sight, the only indication of her presence being the faint sound of footsteps echoing in the distance. The Golem advanced with heavy steps, each footfall causing the platform to shudder.

Allen cast Dark Storm to obscure the area, then focused his senses, listening for the Assassin’s approach. A whisper of movement to his left. He spun, parrying a dagger strike aimed at his throat.
“Not today,” he hissed, countering with a Demonic Lance that impaled the Assassin through the chest. She gasped, eyes wide with shock, before collapsing.
[Elite 4 Defeated – 4:45 Remaining]
The Golem remained, its rune-covered fists glowing ominously. Allen knew brute force wouldn’t suffice. He needed to be strategic.
Spotting a darkness shrine pulsating nearby, Allen smirked. He dashed toward it, the Golem in slow pursuit. With a swift strike, he shattered the shrine.
[System Alert: Enemy Adaptations Reset]
The Golem’s runes flickered, its movements momentarily sluggish.
“Time to end this.”
Allen unleashed Hellfire Rain, the dark flames engulfing the Golem. The scent of molten rock filled the air as the Golem’s form crumbled under the assault.
[Elite 5 Defeated – 3:02 Remaining]
The platform trembled violently. From the void emerged a towering figure, its form shifting between the visages of the elites Allen had just faced.
[Trial Boss: Echo of Domination Lv. 250]
The Echo of Domination hovered above the cracked obsidian platform, its form pulsating with raw, volatile energy. One moment, it was cloaked in the burning veil of the Reaper, fire dancing across its form like a living entity. The next, its limbs reformed into the jagged, rune-etched arms of the Arcbane Golem, stone grinding over metal with the sound of mountains colliding. Each flicker of its form was not a glitch—but evolution.
Allen exhaled slowly. His heart pounded like war drums in his ears.
This wasn’t a normal boss.
This was a bastardized reflection of himself—and everything he’d ever killed.
And it remembered.
The air smelled like scorched steel and blood, and the oppressive heat from the sky above prickled against Allen’s skin like hot needles.
[Time Remaining: 2:04]
Not much left.
The Echo shrieked—a sound like shattered glass ripping through sheet metal—and Allen moved. He bolted low, then feinted right, angling to close the distance. His blade slashed upward in a blur of dark light, but the Echo twisted away and retaliated with his own movement pattern—the exact same feint, mirrored.
Their blades clashed mid-air. Sparks flew like fireworks. Allen’s arms shuddered from the impact, and he was forced back, bootheels scraping across the stone.
It pressed the advantage, transforming into the Fang-Twinned Assassin in a flicker of shadow. Allen barely caught the glint of twin daggers arcing toward his ribs. He dropped to the ground, sliding under the strike, and swept his leg wide.
The Echo jumped over it, landing behind him.
Allen turned and blasted upward with Telekinesis, launching both himself and the Echo skyward.
The air grew thin. Cold. They clashed in mid-air—twice, three times. Metal on metal, explosion after explosion of impact. Allen ducked under a flaming sweep, countered with a short-range Dark Storm that broke the sky open and sent the Echo reeling.
But it didn’t fall.
It shifted. Into the Golem again.
