Chapter 1513: Every Day is a New Battlefield
Villain Ch 1513. Every Day is a New Battlefield

As Bell made his way out, his steps lighter and more hopeful than before, Mila exhaled audibly, slumping slightly in her chair. “That was way more intense than any meeting I’ve ever had.”

Vivian laughed softly, finally allowing herself to relax fully. “Every day is a new battlefield.”

Allen chuckled lightly, brushing his hand through his dark hair. He wasn’t naive enough to believe the battle was over—far from it. But for now, at least, he’d laid a foundation.

“You really think Bell can handle Sophia?” Mila asked softly, a hint of worry still lingering.

Allen glanced back at her calmly, the smallest smirk playing at his lips. “That’s up to him now. I gave him an opening. Whether he survives depends on his own decisions.”

Vivian stood gracefully, eyes sparkling with gentle admiration. “Either way, it was impressive. You really are terrifying when you’re like this.”

Allen smiled warmly, briefly touching her hand. “Only when necessary.”

Mila stood up slowly, cheeks slightly flushed again as she watched Allen with admiration. “You know, Allen… I’m glad I’m not your enemy.”

Allen gave her a faintly amused smile, his eyes calm but intense. “That’s probably wise.”

Mila swallowed, her cheeks warming again as Allen’s calm gaze lingered on her. She knew his words weren’t meant as a threat—but the certainty behind them sent a small shiver down her spine anyway. Allen was powerful. He was the kind of guy who could casually drop a bombshell of information, manipulate a room, and still look completely unfazed. It was part of why she was so drawn to him. And yet, she couldn’t deny it made her feel a bit nervous, too.

She took a breath, gathering her courage. Her heart felt like it was fluttering wildly, like a trapped bird inside her chest. But she couldn’t hold it back anymore. She needed to speak up.

“Allen, um… about us,” she began hesitantly, her voice soft but clear enough to draw his attention.

Allen turned slightly toward her, a gentle curiosity flickering briefly in his gaze. “Hm?”

Mila bit her lip, nervousness welling up inside her chest. She fiddled absently with a strand of her hair, twisting it between her fingers. “You know my family is your family’s business rival, right?”

Allen nodded calmly. “Yeah, I know that very well.”

Mila’s cheeks burned brighter, but she didn’t falter. “Well, I’m pretty sure you’re already aware that I—I have feelings for you. I’ve never exactly been subtle about it.”

He didn’t respond immediately, but his expression softened a bit. “Yes. I’m aware.”

She hesitated, her voice catching slightly in her throat. “I just… I know it’s complicated. Really complicated. Our families, our backgrounds—it’s not something easy to handle. But I’ve said it before, and I meant it. I’m serious.”

Allen watched her steadily, his eyes calm and thoughtful. “I know you’re serious.”

Mila fidgeted, growing more flustered. She knew she was laying her heart out in front of him again, completely vulnerable. But the more she tried to explain herself, the harder the words became. She finally sighed, frustration coloring her voice. “I just don’t know what to do, or what to expect you to do. I—I don’t even know where to start.”

Allen exhaled slowly, thoughtfully, watching Mila’s anxiety rising. She was brave, he knew. Braver than most. Confessing feelings when they came from rival families wasn’t easy, especially in their world. Allen admired that courage, but he also knew she needed direction.

He stepped closer, not touching her, but closing the space enough to make their conversation feel intimate, private. “Want to hear my advice?”

Mila’s eyes widened slightly, startled by his directness, and then she nodded quickly. “Yes, please.”

Allen gave her a gentle but firm look. “Take it slow, Mila. I understand your feelings clearly, and I respect them. But pulling away from your family, your background, everything you know—it’s not simple. It’s not something you rush into. Just calm down for a second. We’ll figure this out, step by step.”

Mila’s expression softened, hope flickering briefly in her eyes. She knew Allen was right, but her heart felt impatient, anxious. “But taking it slow… that means it could take forever.”

Allen nodded solemnly. “You’re right. It probably would.”

She hesitated again, searching his eyes for some hidden meaning, a tiny shred of hope. “So… is that really all we can do? Wait forever?”

Allen gave a small, enigmatic smile. “Not necessarily. There’s another solution, but it’s risky.”

Mila’s breath caught in her throat, a cautious optimism rising inside her chest. “Another solution? What do you mean?”

Allen’s gaze drifted briefly over to Vivian, who had tactfully turned away, still gazing at the city’s skyline, giving them their privacy. His voice was low, serious. “Maybe our families don’t need to be rivals anymore. If the Stoutforge and the Goldborne could find common ground—work together instead of against each other—wouldn’t that solve most of our problems?”

Mila stared at him, stunned. The idea was… bold. Impossible. But also strangely appealing. “Work together?” she repeated slowly, as if trying to convince herself she’d heard him correctly.

“Exactly,” Allen replied calmly. “It wouldn’t just solve personal issues. It could benefit both our families immensely. Business-wise, reputation-wise—it could change everything.”

Mila went silent for a long moment, her mind racing with scenarios. She’d grown up listening to her father and older brother talk about the Goldbornes with grudging respect and endless frustration. Rivalries that ran generations deep weren’t something easily overcome. But maybe—just maybe—Allen had a point.

“It does sound good,” Mila admitted softly, her eyes lifting to his face again, hesitant but hopeful. “But you’re right. It’s incredibly risky. I don’t think my family would just accept it.”

Allen leaned back against the sleek meeting table casually, his posture relaxed but eyes sharp with calculation. “You’re right. And neither might mine. This isn’t a conversation we can decide alone. It’s business. Your father and my father would need to see clear, undeniable benefits. They might outright refuse at first.”
