Chapter 1528: Hidden Quest
Villain Ch 1528. Hidden Quest

Shea raised a hand. “Wait, should we regroup first? Heal up? Stock potions?”

Allen smirked. “Nah, we are good.”

The team began to descend into the deeper tunnel, past the corpses of dragons and molten fissures, toward the mist-covered sinkhole glowing with forbidden energy.

Because in Hell’s Gate, nothing stayed buried for long.

And Allen?

Allen planned to claim everything that was hidden down there. Even if it meant becoming the Abyss itself.

The deeper they went, the thicker the mist grew—dense, cold, almost wet like breathing through a soaked cloth. It clung to their armor and lashes, turning everything pale and ghostly. Even the girls’ vibrant colors were dulled to grey-blue shadows in the unnatural fog.

The tunnel walls twisted, scarred with ancient claw marks and glowing veins of pulsing abyssal energy. The atmosphere crackled with mana so thick it felt alive. Somewhere, distant rumbling echoed like thunder trapped underground.

And Allen? Allen grinned.

He was walking ahead of the party, his obsidian blade dragging behind him across the stone floor, the edge hissing with corrupted energy. Sparks flickered where it scraped. His eyes glowed faint crimson, not because of a skill—but because something inside him had snapped a little.

[Progression Updated: 5% – Abyssal Presence acknowledged your thirst.]

“He’s humming,” Vivian muttered. “Why is he humming? He only hums when he’s about to make something explode.”

Larissa sighed. “Just don’t stand in front of him.”

Suddenly, the ground shook.

From the mist ahead, massive shadows slithered into view—six-legged dragons with crystalized black horns and massive jaws glowing with internal fire. The monsters didn’t roar. They just appeared, with a chilling grace that made the bones vibrate before they even attacked.

Cave Reaper – Elite Dragon <Lv. 248>

Dreadmaw Twinborn – Elite Dragon <Lv. 250>

Abyssfang – Corrupted Drake <Lv. 252>

The three emerged together, flanked by a swarm of smaller drakes. Their scale colors shifted between shades of void-black and abyssal purple, and their wings didn’t flap—they hovered, carried by sheer corrupted mana.

“Company,” Zoe said quietly, tightening her grip.

Allen didn’t stop walking.

“Let me go first,” he said.

Shea opened her mouth, but Larissa put a hand on her arm. “Don’t. Just… let him.”

Allen raised his left hand.

“Stone Curse.”

The ground lit with crimson glyphs, and in the next instant, a circular pulse of petrifying energy burst out. It raced across the battlefield like a ripple through lava. The weaker drakes instantly froze mid-flight, their wings turning to brittle obsidian before they shattered like glass against the cavern walls.

The elite dragons weren’t so lucky—they were too strong to be frozen entirely, but slowed down just enough for Allen to move.

And he did.

In a blink, he was already inside the swarm.

His sword flashed once, and the leg of a Cave Reaper went flying across the room.

He didn’t stop.

Dreadmaw lunged, jaws wide with a spray of corrupted flame.

“Barrier.”

Allen’s barrier activated with a low, thunderous hum—an invisible wall of force that bent the drake’s breath backward like it had hit a solid dome. Sparks flew, lighting the fog with bursts of orange.

Allen didn’t flinch. He moved through the fog like a demon from a war story.

The Cave Reaper reared back and swung its tail—too slow.

Allen’s blade caught it mid-air and carved through, cleaving from bone to scale like slicing into butter.

Black blood gushed, spraying Allen’s cloak—but he kept swinging.

He ducked beneath a claw swipe, slashed up into Dreadmaw’s exposed belly, and used Telekinesis Blast to hurl the dragon backward with a psychic burst that flattened the walls behind it.

“Allen’s insane,” Bella whispered, eyes wide.

Dreadmaw rose again, already limping—but it didn’t matter.

Allen rushed forward, spinning his blade and activating Demonic Orbs.

A hundred glowing spheres of abyssal energy shot out, orbiting him like a deadly halo. With a snap of his fingers, the orbs launched toward the dragons—two for each.

They struck like missiles—direct impact.

The first orb drilled into the Cave Reaper’s skull, imploding with a shriek of tearing mana. The second exploded beneath its chest, ripping the creature in half as its guts spilled across the stone floor.

[Cave Reaper Defeated – +6 Shards Acquired]

Dreadmaw screamed and lunged forward in rage.

Too late.

Allen stepped in and used Soul Siphon.

A dark chain of energy ripped out from the drake’s chest, connecting to Allen’s outstretched hand. In seconds, the creature’s skin withered, mana draining as Allen’s HP surged upward like a floodgate had opened.

[HP Restored: +72,000]

Dreadmaw collapsed, twitching. Allen didn’t blink.

He shoved his blade through its eye socket for good measure.

[Dreadmaw Twinborn Defeated – +9 Shards Acquired]

Then came the last one.

Abyssfang, snarling in pain, backed away slightly, wings flaring. It opened its mouth to cast—

Void Mirage.

Allen vanished.

The illusion kept running straight.

Abyssfang bit it—and the mirage detonated in its mouth.

The explosion tore open its jaw and stunned it just long enough for Allen to step in—up the tail, over the spine, and then down.

He leapt off the beast’s back and slammed his blade into the dragon’s skull with both hands, activating a downward Telekinesis Blast mid-fall to add force.

The impact cracked the floor—and the dragon’s head.

[Abyssfang Defeated – +12 Shards Acquired]

Allen stood on top of the corpse, chest rising and falling with slow, controlled breath.

The entire cavern was littered with dragon bodies, black blood, and fragments of crystal horns.

The girls stepped forward slowly.

Larissa raised an eyebrow. “You done, war god?”

Allen turned, face blank. “They were in the way.”

[Progression Updated: 25% – Abyssal Core proximity confirmed. A dark force watches you from below.]

Allen’s gaze shifted toward a spiral staircase that had just emerged from the floor, revealed after the death of the final drake. It led downward—deeper than any of them had gone before.

“I think the next phase just unlocked,” Jane said.

“Correction,” Zoe said. “It unlocked because Allen went full reaper mode.”

Allen looked over his shoulder at them, voice calm.

“Ready?”

The girls nodded, some more nervously than others.
