As the corpse hit the ground, Elio gasped, leaning on his shield. “Two. Down.”
Arcana’s side was still battling the Behemoth. Azura’s blade flashed as she tried to cut the back of its knees. Red_King was shouting something about his hair catching fire. Mastercraft was launching rune bombs from a cliff edge.
James collapsed beside Elio, panting. “How many are still alive?”
Elio scanned his system.
“…Barely sixty percent.”
The gates weren’t far now.
But the way forward?
Still drowned in chaos.
The Behemoth roared like it wanted to make sure everyone within fifty miles knew it was still pissed. Its body, the size of a house, pulsed with lava-colored veins, and every time it moved, the earth shook like it might break in half.
Arcana shouted for another taunt rotation.
Red_King cursed for the fifth time as his shield arm buckled under a stomp wave.
Azura darted between its legs, trying to slice its tendons, but even with her agility, the thing’s wide AoE slams made dodging feel like trying to avoid thunder in a minefield.
“Where’s the weak point again?!” she yelled, skidding beneath a chunk of debris.
“Back thigh!” Mastercraft shouted from a ledge, glowing rune bomb in hand. “Where the glowing muscle overlaps—!”
“I CAN’T SEE IT, IT’S DOING A BELLY FLOP!”
Elio clenched his jaw. “We need more pressure!”
James was half out of breath, sweat pouring down his face, still firing. “I’m already pressure-cooked, bro!”
Gil barked out a half-maniacal laugh as he jumped off the remnants of a dead knight and drove both blades into the Behemoth’s calf. “I don’t know if this is working or if I’m just mad at my dad!”
“Channel the daddy issues!” Red_King yelled, sword glowing with his final rage skill. “Raging Quake!”
The ground split in a line of molten cracks. The Behemoth’s leg gave way—and Azura screamed from under it.
“MOVE!” Eren shouted.
She didn’t need to be told twice. Azura launched out from the collapsing leg like a shadow on fire.
The beast dropped to its knees.
Mastercraft finally tossed the last bomb.
It landed between the Behemoth’s shoulder blades…
-BOOM!
The explosion lit up the cursed sky, casting long shadows across the ruins. The roar that followed was deafening, part beast, part echo from another plane. And then…

For a second, the only sound was everyone breathing—hard, ragged, like they were all moments from collapsing. The world around them reeked of burning fur, cracked stone, and blood-soaked mana. Corpses littered the battlefield. Only a third—maybe less—of the original raid party was left standing.
Arcana stumbled slightly. “Sound off…”
Names flickered in the raid tab. Too many grayed out.
Too many gone.
They didn’t speak. They didn’t need to. The survivors just… nodded. Panting. Battered. One healer threw up quietly in the back. Someone else sat down and started drinking from a potion like it was cheap beer.
James knelt, clutching his side. “We’ve… We’ve killed lich kings. I once stabbed a ghost in the d*ck during that raid event.”
Noah blinked. “What.”
“But this?” James wheezed. “This was personal.”
Eren looked around. “Any healing left?”
Lain raised a hand, voice soft. “I have Renewal Pulse ready. Cooldown’s done.”
“Do it,” Arcana said. “Hit everyone. We’ll move as soon as we’re topped off.”
Lain nodded and knelt in the dirt. Her staff lit up, pulsing with golden light that spread across the wounded field like breath returning to a corpse.
And then— It began.
A voice.
Male. Cold. Deep enough to rattle the spine and smooth enough to slide right into their nightmares.
But worst of all?
He was singing.
“Ring around my razor,
Pockets full of screams,
Slash here, stab there,
They all fall down.”
The moment the rhyme hit the air, it was like a spell. Everyone froze.
Weapons halfway drawn. Healers halfway through casting. A player literally mid-sip on a mana potion spat it out in horror.

The sound of plated armor—slow, deliberate steps. Echoing from above.
They all turned.
And there he was.
The Devil Emperor.
He stood at the top of the Cursed Crypts, tall and lithe, a silhouette against the blood moon behind him. His armor wasn’t shiny—it absorbed light. Matte black edged with infernal crimson, runes swirling across his chest plate like they were alive. A ragged cape billowed behind him, tattered and burned but heavy with presence.
His hair was wind-tossed. His eyes glowed with lazy amusement. And that smile.
Smug. Crooked. Cruel.
He looked down at them like a man who’d waited patiently for the rats to finish scrambling before lighting the whole maze on fire.
“Good evening,” he said, his voice low and amused, like a man greeting old friends at a funeral he caused.
The players stared, silent.
“I was wondering when the ants would reach the doorstep.” He tilted his head. “You brought so many friends… shame how few are left.”
“Oh damn,” Gil muttered, eyes wide, “He is still the sexiest asshole I’ve ever seen.”
The figure up top bowed slightly. “Oh, you flatter me.”
Azura elbowed Gil. “Shut up.”
Arcana stepped forward. “Devil Emperor.”
Elio narrowed his eyes. “We’ve come to end this.”
“Oh, I know,” the Devil Emperor replied, eyes sparkling. “You’ve come so far. Bleeding. Dirty. Some of you permanently traumatized by my girls. That one over there still looks like he needs a full therapy session.”
“Not gonna lie,” James muttered, “he’s not wrong.”
“I mean, I could come down and fight you now,” the Devil Emperor continued. “But…”
He raised one hand—and tossed something.
Something wet.
It hit the ground with a heavy thud and rolled.
A head.
A player’s head.
Gasps rang out. They quickly realized it.
It was Warlord’s head!
