Chapter 1590: Let’s Play
Villain Ch 1590. Let’s Play

Bits of his blood still dripped from the neck stump before the head disintegrated into motes of red light.

But the horror remained. Seeing a party leader from Stealth Squad—someone who’d been deep in the Crypts, off-map, tossed like a piece of meat?

It hit hard.

“Oh gods…” Lain whispered, stepping back.

Elio clenched his fists.

And above them, the Devil Emperor just smiled wider, that lazy, menacing grin never reaching his eyes.

“I found him,” he said, tone casual, conversational. “And his team. Sneaking around in my throne room. No manners at all.”

He shifted, now seated casually on the blackened railing at the top of the Crypt’s gates, legs dangling like he was watching a school play.

“But not just them,” he continued. “There’s another squad, isn’t there? Going through the maze paths deep below.”

His gaze swept over them.

“My girls are taking care of them.”

There was a beat.

“Listen.”

The entire battlefield froze.

And they heard it.

Faint.

But real.

Hidden behind the thunder of their earlier battle, masked by spell flares and monster roars…

Screams…

Human. Pained. Familiar.

And mixed in, the terrifying screeches of dragons—feral, enraged—and something else, something that sounded like corrupted mana tearing through stone.

The sound was coming from inside the Crypts.

Elio’s face went pale. His lips parted.

“…He knew,” he muttered. “He knew everything.”

The Devil Emperor chuckled, soft and razor-sharp. “Of course, I knew. I always know. You think I’d build all of this and not see through a simple misdirection?”

He stood, spreading his arms wide, cloak flaring behind him.

“Oh yes, I know your plan. This group—” he gestured to them with a flick of his gloved hand “—is the distraction. The noise. The parade. Meanwhile, your precious specialists slither in the back door hoping to dismantle my traps.”

He snapped his fingers.

“And guess what?” He leaned. “That Dismantler Relic your other team brought?” he sneered. “I destroyed it.”

Gasps.

“How?!” someone shouted.

“Oh, please,” he said, rolling his eyes. “They held it like it was holy. You honestly believed I wouldn’t sense a relic designed to undo my will?”

He stepped closer to the edge, looking down at them like a god glancing at insects.

“How dare they try to dismantle my fortress with that pathetic little artifact. I made this Crypt with blood and bone and wrath. You think a toy could break me?”

James hissed under his breath. “We’re screwed.”

Arcana’s hand tightened around his blade. “This isn’t over.”

“Oh, no,” the Devil Emperor said, voice low and thrilled. “It’s not. This? This is just the appetizer. You haven’t even seen the meat course.”

He raised his hand again.

“Summon…”

Magic roared to life—deep and ancient, the sky above the Crypt twisting into a black vortex. Blood-red lightning cracked downward as the gates behind him fully parted, releasing a wave of heat, sulfur, and overwhelming mana pressure.

And from within that chasm of sound and darkness…

Something emerged.

Massive claws.

Glowing red scales.

And three heads.

One snarling.

One cackling.

One—drooling? And slightly cross-eyed?

The Devil Emperor grinned.

“I suppose it’s only fair I send out my pet, too.”

[World Boss Summoned – King of the Abyss, Azdraeth (Lv. ???)]

[Species: Triple-Crowned Abyssal Dragon]

The ground cracked beneath the dragon’s massive frame as it stepped forward, all three heads stretching, wings spreading with a sound like a thousand bones snapping at once.

The left head—noble, regal, mouth full of burning scripture—growled in perfect elocution, “Intruders shall be purged in flame and honor.”

The center head—sneering, twitchy, and constantly sniffing—snorted. “Let me eat them. Or at least bite something. Ooooh, they smell like suffering!”

The right head just giggled. “Hiii~ guys! I like shiny things and explosions!”

Gil squinted. “Are you serious right now? That thing’s the final boss?”

Azura muttered, “One has trauma. One has rage. And one is on meds.”

“Perfect,” Elio said dryly. “It’s our whole team, in dragon form.”

The Devil Emperor’s laughter echoed as the ground shook beneath the three-headed monster.

“Let’s play,” he said.

Azdraeth roared toward the sky— fire, madness, and glitter in equal measure.

And then it charged.

Not stomped.

Not flew.

Charged.

The sheer force of its movement cracked the battlefield. The shockwave knocked half the frontliners back like bowling pins. A whirlwind of cursed energy spiraled behind it, a chaotic mix of fire, necrotic wind, and… was that confetti?

“ARE THOSE SPARKLES?!” Gil yelled as he rolled behind a fallen column.

“I TOLD YOU THAT THIRD HEAD WASN’T RIGHT!” Azura shouted, narrowly dodging a blast of flaming acid that melted three stone slabs behind her.

The main tank squad—what was left of them—braced as Elio and Red_King engaged the front. Elio’s shield flared with divine energy as he blocked a full bite from the center head, his feet dragging back across the ground with a painful screech.

“IT’S TOO FAST!” he growled.

Red_King roared, hammer glowing red. “THEN HIT IT HARDER!”

They struck—blow after blow—but Azdraeth wasn’t just a dragon. It was a damn raid in one body. The left head cast holy runes, buffing its own scales with divine armor. The center head shot necrotic beams. The right head just laughed and summoned animated boulders shaped like smiley faces that exploded.

“I SWEAR TO THE SYSTEM—!” Arcana slashed down another summoned golem, breathing hard. “Why is it mocking us?!”

“Because the devs are sick bastards!” James screamed, letting loose a storm of arrows. “That’s WHY!”

One of the boulders rolled straight toward Father^Alex.

“Alex, MOVE!” Lain screamed.

He didn’t.

Instead, he planted his staff into the cursed ground and shouted, “[Holy Sanctuary!]”

A blinding dome of light exploded outward just as the boulder hit.

-BOOM!

The explosion rocked the dome, sparks flying, but not a single player behind it was touched. Inside, Alex stood shaking, face pale, teeth clenched. His HP was fine—his mana bar, however, was already down to a third.

“Holy hell,” Noah breathed. “He blocked it.”

Father^Alex lowered his staff slowly. “Don’t thank me yet…”

Because the next blast came a second later.
