Chapter 500: Big Changes
Tempest Fort – Federal Palace
Although news of Behemoth’s fate had not yet reached Tempest Fort, all the higher-ups, including the governor, was on edge due to recent incidents.
The magnitude of these events overshadowed the threat posed by the corrupted by miles.
This situation extended beyond Tempest Fort; it was a global crisis.
After Lilith vanished, the Abyssal Alliance placed a bounty on her head.
Using their teleportation abilities, they equipped every city with a communication system for rapid message exchange.
This way, anyone who learned of her whereabouts could quickly inform them, allowing the Alliance to send their demon gods to confront her before she became an even greater threat.
The Alliance had never shared the secret of teleportation with humanity before.
So their decision to do so now highlighted the seriousness of the threat Lilith represented.
Inside the meeting room, Governor Snider sat alone, staring at the hologram of the president before him.
He had deployed Behemoth to eliminate the threat in the Green Valley Region, but instead of neutralizing the corrupted, they uncovered something far worse.
The statements from those present painted a picture of an entity so powerful that some claimed she was even more formidable than the Demon Gods, the most powerful beings in this world.
“Is she really a devil?” he asked .
During the battle, she had declared her name—Lilith—and claimed to be a devil of royal blood. This revelation confused those unfamiliar with the devil race.
Higher-ranking officials like Snider had only a limited understanding of her nature. Devils were considered mythical beings, more legend than reality.
[Yes,] the president replied.
Governor Snider leaned back in his chair and massaged his temple. “Mr. President. Do you have any information? How powerful is she?”
[Even if you ask me, my knowledge is limited to ancient texts as well. It would be better for you to read the information yourself.]
Data appeared on his screen, summarized for easier comprehension.
As he read, his hands began to tremble, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead.
The information was so ancient that it explained why humans had forgotten about devils.
“This can’t be real,” he whispered, trying to rationalize what he was seeing.
Each description was more horrifying than the last, detailing the various layers of Hell and the powerful beings that inhabited them.
One key figure mentioned was Lucifer, the king of Hell. Then there was Lilith, said to be the Queen of Hell.
Just the title alone was enough to make him imagine a terrifying entities.
“If this is true… if she really is a devil… does that mean Hell still exists?”
[There’s a high chance of that. Even the demons confirm it. That’s why we need to be cautious from now on. The threat of an invasion from another world is no longer out of the question.]
Governor Snider’s heart raced as the weight of this revelation sank in.
He shot up from his chair, fists clenched at his sides.
“An invasion from another world? This is beyond anything we’ve prepared for!”

Humanity had finally started to recover.
After years of struggle against the corrupted, they began to innovate, creating powerful technologies and strategies that could turn the tide of battle.
They were close to reclaiming their planet, and the airships were making a difference.
Now, because of this new threat, all those hopes were shattered.
[This is why our next course of action is important. I need you to provide the necessary funds and support for BioGen.]
[If they want our Bio-technology , then grant them access to level five. Their meta-humans demonstrated impressive results in that fight.]
Level Five?” He could not believe what he was hearing.
The government had seven levels for it’s top secret research in total, and the Behemoth itself had Level 5 access.
Snider’s eyes narrowed at the thought. The idea of granting too much power to a private entity troubled him.
He had to admit that the meta-humans surpassed his expectations. The ability of a single boy to revive everyone repeatedly was terrifying.
“What if we just cease their research? If we do that, we can develop our own version of meta-humans. I’m certain that with our existing technology, we can create even more powerful variants.”
This was his honest opinion. Snider was a patriot; in his view, the government should always be the strongest, and all resources should belong to it.
That’s why he opposed private organizations and even held disdain for the Chamber of Commerce, which funded everything with its capitalist mindset.
[It’s too risky. Right now, BioGen holds all the cards. Asking them to hand over their research could trigger internal conflict. We can’t afford to be divided at this moment.]
Snider clenched his jaw, “So, we’re just going to let them dictate our next move? We should be the ones in control.”
The hologram shifted slightly, as if weighing its words.
[I understand your concerns, but right now, BioGen’s meta-humans are our best chance. We need their expertise to stand a fighting chance.]
Snider took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions. “But what if they decide to turn against us? We’d be handing over our fate to a private corporation.”
[That’s a risk we have to take. For now, we must align our interests with theirs. Once the devil is dealt with, we can reassess our position and ensure we don’t become dependent on them.]
Snider frowned, still unconvinced. “Mr. President, what about our own research? We need to develop our own meta-humans so we’re not at their mercy.”
[Agreed. But that process takes time, and we don’t have the luxury of waiting. Let’s leverage BioGen while we can. I’ll make sure our scientists are working on parallel projects in the capital.]
With that reassurance, Snider finally relented.
BioGen primarily operated in his region, which was why this responsibility had fallen on him.
He still didn’t know what the president was thinking, but for now, he would follow his orders.
“Governor Snider!” A male assistant hurried toward him as he exited the meeting room.
“What’s the problem?” he asked, sensing the urgency .
“We received reports that the Behemoth had been destroyed, and we lost all contact in Green Valley!”
