The air was thick with tension, silence over the stadium. Rui stood poised, her thorn filled hair dancing like vipers around her. Her body an ominous aura as her lips curled into a sinister grin.

The announcer’s voice rang out. “Is this the end of our hero, Alex? Has Rui claimed her victory?”

The crowd leaned forward, holding their breath. Alex knelt on the ground, his sword barely supporting him. His chest heaved, his body trembling as the poison coursed through his veins. Sweat dripped from his chin as his head hung low, his hair casting shadows over his eyes. Rui raised her thorny hair like a coiled whip, ready to deliver the final strike.

“I hope you put up more of a fight with kids as a handicap,” Rui said.

The thorns closed in fast, their lethal points aimed directly at Alex’s head.

Just as the crowd gasped in horror, Alex’s body moved. With an explosive burst of energy, he leaped into the air, soaring high above Rui. His figure glowed with an intense, golden light, radiating heat like the sun itself. The stadium erupted into cheers as the dazzling aura illuminated the battlefield.

Rui looked at him in shocked

“How can you still move?”

“The Sun’s Glare!” Alex roared, his voice reverberating through the arena like a battle cry.

The crowd erupted. Cheers echoed from every corner, and even the announcer couldn’t contain his excitement.

“He’s done it! Alex has activated The Sun’s Galre!! Look at him shine!” the announcer shouted, his voice trembling with awe.

Seraphine leaned forward in her seat, her eyes wide with shock. “What the hell… That’s his special attack,” she said.

I, sitting beside her, clasped my hands lightly.

“Ohhooo. That’s looks cool.”

As Alex descended, his sword gleamed with golden energy. He landed with precision, his feet skidding against the ground. In a single, fluid motion, he swung his blade, cutting through Rui’s thorny hair like butter. The severed strands fell to the ground, sizzling as they disintegrated upon contact with the golden aura. Rui staggered back, her confidence shaken.

“How…?” Rui’s voice trembled as her defenses crumbled. “How are you still standing?!”

Alex coughed violently, blood splattering onto the ground. His body swayed, but his grip on his sword tightened. His golden aura flickered.

“You think… I’d go down that easily?” Alex spat, his voice filled with determination. He took a step forward, his glowing eyes locking onto Rui. “I’m not done yet.”

The crowd’s cheers reached its peak as Alex launched himself at Rui in rage. His strikes were relentless, each one more ferocious than the last. Rui raised her hairs to defend, but Alex screamed through clenched teeth, slashing through her defenses with sheer force.

“ENOUGH!” Rui screamed, attempting to counter with a barrage of thorny lashes. But Alex weaved through her attacks, his movements a blur of golden light.

“AAAARRGHHHG!!!!!” With a final roar, he unleashed a devastating slash that sent Rui flying backward. She crashed onto the ground, her body stammered and slowly went into silence as she passed out.

The crowd erupted in cheers as the announcer’s voice boomed across the stadium.

“Unbelievable! Ladies and gentlemen, Alex has done it! Against all odds, Alex emerges victorious!”

I couldn’t help but clap. “Damn, he really pulled it off.”

Seraphine exhaled, a mixture of relief and awe on her face. “That was… way too close. Rui was strong, but Alex… he’s something else.”

Alex knelt on the ground, his body trembling from exhaustion. His sword clattered to the ground as he braced himself with one hand.

Medics rushed onto the field, tending to both fighters. Alex’s breathing was ragged, his eyes heavy, but a faint smile tugged at his lips.

“Good fight,” he muttered under his breath before collapsing into the medics’ arms.

As the medics carried Alex and Rui off the battlefield, the announcer’s voice broke through the noise.

“We’ll take a short lunch break before the next round of battles! Stay tuned, folks, because the action is far from over!”

The cafeteria buzzed with life as fighters, spectators, and officials mingled. I sat at a corner table with Seraphine, a tray of food in front of me. She was practically glowing, her excitement from the fights still glowing.

“Can you believe how intense that was?” she asked, taking a bite of her sandwich. “Alex really surprised me out there.”

“Yeah,” I said, leaning back in my chair. “But he was reckless. If Rui had been just a little faster, he’d be out cold right now.”

Seraphine nodded, her expression thoughtful. “True, but sometimes, recklessness is what you need to win. He pushed himself beyond his limits.”

As we talked, the cafeteria grew quiet for a moment. Heads turned as Alex entered.

People clapped and cheered for him as he made his way to the counter. He gave a humble nod, his usual dashing smile returning.

Seraphine watched him with admiration. “He deserves the praise. That fight was legendary.”

Alex caught my eye and gave a slight wave before grabbing his food and finding a seat. I turned back to Seraphine.

“You realize we might be fighting today, right?” I asked, studying her expression.

Her face fell for a moment, a flicker of sadness crossing her eyes. But then she smiled, forcing a lighthearted tone. “It’s okay. No worries. We’ll do our best.”

I raised an eyebrow. “You better do.”

She laughed softly, but her cheeks turned a shade of pink. Her fingers brushing the cup as she hesitated.

“Cutiepie….” her voice dropping.

“Yes?” I asked eating my food.

Before our battle… can we have… you know… a moment of ours..together in private?” She avoided my gaze, her face burning. “It’s… if you don’t want to, that’s okay.”

I knew exactly what she meant. Her eyes, filled with hear.

“Alright. No problem,” I said, my voice firm.

Her eyes sparkled, and she quickly took the glass of water in hand pushed it down her throat, trying to hide her flustered expression.
