Chapter 111: The Rattlers
“Let’s not do that again…” I groaned, feeling sore in my hips.
Amber swivelled her head towards me, “What? Why? Didn’t that feel great?”
“I couldn’t stop myself because of the drug and I’d rather be in full control of my actions, thank you very much…”
“Aww… Well, I guess we shouldn’t use it too often anyway. I like it when you fuck me over, under and sideways too~ Oh yes~ I like it especially when you fuck me real deep and make me cum all over your cock.”
Someone near us coughed and I tried my best to look as neutral as possible.
Yeah… We’re outside right now and Amber basically just said all that out loud within earshot of other people.
As for what we’re doing… Well… We have to sell the White Powder somewhere, right?
We did keep a few bags of it for ourselves, more for me to experiment on trying to make food from them than for their effects. But we do intend to sell the rest.
We asked Reese if she knew where we could sell something like that. Seeing that she was a trader here and all, she should have information about it, right?
When she realised why we called her, she simply laughed, “Ahahaha! Just sell wherever you want! It’s a Free Trade zone, remember? Heck, you could just haul the boxes to the street and just start selling it to people as they passed by if you wanted!”
That would have been a good point if it wasn’t because of the fact that we literally took these off of some dead guys so I really wouldn’t want to be seen selling them directly.
She then introduced us to find a specific person named ‘M’ on the station that could help us sell it, which brought us to where we are right now.
The person we were meeting was apparently a member of one of the prominent gangs around here and they specialise in dealings like this.
That didn’t really sound safe but she assured us that if we were there for business, we would not have anything to worry about.
Instead of feeling assured, that comment actually made me feel more worried.
Amber insisted that there wouldn’t be any problems so I decided to just trust her and find this person.
Of course, we’re going there armed and I even brought along the shotgun too.
We reached the location that was supposed to be one of the ‘hideouts’ for that gang.
I say ‘hideout’ because they were doing anything but hiding considering the fact that they even have the name of the gang spray painted on the walls and even had a sign that said ‘The Rattlers’ with neon lights around it.
Also, what the hell kind of name is ‘The Rattlers’? Who the hell are they rattling?
Putting that aside, the building itself looked like those kinds of shady nightclubs you might find by the roadside. They even had two guys standing guard at the entrance watching everyone that was walking past.
Both of them were of an intimidatingly big size and were holding rifles in their hands.
Amber simply walked up to the door with me as though expecting the two guards to just let us pass.
Obviously they did not and stretched out their hands to block the way while glaring at us.
“Hey, where you think you’re going?”
Amber gave him a side eye, “Here for M. We have things we want to sell.”
“Oh yeah? Don’t think you made any appointments, did you?”
“No, it’s a spontaneous visit. We were referred here.”
The guard snorted but he tapped on his ear and a holographic screen popped out in front of him, though what was on the screen was obscured from us.
“Boss. Two girls, said they have something to sell.”

There was silence for a moment before the guard turned to us, “What are you selling?”
“White Powder,” Amber told him without hesitation.
There was a moment of silence again before the holographic screen shut itself off and one of the guards pushed the door open for us.
“Get in. Take the lift at the very end. Someone will show you the way.”
We stepped past the doors and realised that it led to another room with a single door at the other end and a counter with a bored looking guy standing there between us.
The door behind us shut, which got the attention of the guy at the counter.
He tapped the counter with a finger, “No weapons. Gonna have to leave your pieces here.”
I looked at Amber and she shrugged, pulling out her pistols to place them on the counter.
Damn… I was hoping to have a weapon when meeting this M person but I guess I should have expected them to want us to be unarmed.
I dropped my shotgun, pistol and knife on the counter, which perked Amber’s interest.
“When did you get that?” She asked, pointing to the knife.
“From the previous station actually. Forgot to tell you about it.”
“Take this and move along now,” The guy at the counter interrupted before Amber could say more, looking irritated.
He had placed some kind of wristband with a number on it while he stored our weapons in a locker behind him that had the same number as the wristband.
Amber swiped it and put it on her wrist before stepping over to the other door, prompting it to slide open.
That was when I found out that this place did not just look like a nightclub from the outside, it was an actual club.
The moment the door opened, we were bombarded with loud, rave music and the sight of a crowd dancing in the middle of a club with bottles of alcohol in hand.
There was an actual dance floor in the centre and what I assume to be a DJ booth at the far wall while the bar sat near the left wall of the room where various people crowded around it.
“Huh… I wouldn’t mind spending some time down here later,” Amber admitted while bobbing her head to the music.
“Well… We can have a look around later I guess? As long as the people here aren’t trying to kill us.”
“Pfft, if we’re customers, they won’t.”
I highly doubt that but whatever.
We found the lift in question at the very back of the club and there was a woman wearing a leather jacket wielding a bat waiting in front of it.
She jerked her chin at us when she saw us approach, “You’re the ones looking for M?”
I nodded at her.
She looked me up and down before sniffing once and turning to gesture at the lift, “Get in.”
We stepped inside and she followed after us, slamming her fist on the button for the fourth floor which happened to be the highest floor here before the door closed.
She leaned against the side and kept looking at me up and down, like she was trying to find something.
I don’t get it, does she know me or something?
Amber suddenly stepped in front of me to hide me from view before growling at the girl, “I would appreciate it if you stopped looking at her. She’s taken.”
Taken? Taken by what? What are you talking about, Amber?
The girl clucked her tongue but said nothing and turned away, pointedly avoiding looking at us for the rest of the time it took the lift to reach our floor.
When the door opened, she got out and we followed behind her.
It was a corridor with multiple doors at the sides but she ignored all of them to head over to the one all the way at the back that had a single guard standing beside it.
This guy was armed to the teeth with a shotgun held in his hand and even what looked like a light machine gun leaning against the wall by his side.
He said nothing when we approached, merely eyeing us with a stare with his hand on the trigger of his gun.
The girl guiding us also said nothing as well and went up to the door, using her bat to knock three times on the door.
There was a pause before the door slid open, revealing a plush interior that you might find in a high class hotel except everything was crimson red in colour.
The girl turned to us, “Go on in then.”
Without waiting for a reply, she turned and left for the lift, leaving us to enter the room on our own.
The guard was still staring at us creepily and stayed silent, as though whether we chose to enter the room or not did not concern him.
Amber and I shared a glance and for some reason, I felt that we were about to head inside a tiger’s den.
She gave me a reassuring nod and we stepped inside the room.
Right… Let’s remember, we’re here to do business.
